Arrest Made In Virginia Beach Double Homicide Investigation  An arrest was made in the investigation of a double murder in Virginia Beach, and the motive of the murders may have been money. Carl Lee Walton was arrested Thursday morning. Walton is charged with the murders of 28-year-old Ronique Lavone Ewing and 27-year-old Tonya Dover Smith. The bodies of the women were found Wednesday morning about a mile from the Norfolk International airport. Ewing's body was found inside an SUV that was in a ditch on Tim Road. Smith's body was found a short distance away on Sand Pit Road.Ewing and Walton were childhood friends, and she called him brother. - (Tyrone N. Sports: 300 Pound Michigan Footballer Suspended After Indecent Exposure Arrest Michigan defensive lineman Larry Harrison Jr. was suspended from the team after he was arraigned on one count of indecent exposure.
Police arrested Larry Harrison Jr., a 20-year-old defensive tackle from Detroit Monday night. "He was seen in the area last night ... and was observed committing the crime of indecent exposure," said the police. Harrison, who weighs more than 300 pounds, reportedly fits the denoscription of a man who has exposed himself at least 16 times around the University of Michigan Central Campus since August, police said.

Sports: Wisconsin footballer Booker Stanley arrested, suspended for allegedly choking a woman MADISON (AP) - Wisconsin running back Booker Stanley was suspended from the team Wednesday after being arrested for allegedly choking a woman at his apartment. The 22-year-old junior could face charges of second-degree reckless
endangerment, false imprisonment, two counts of battery and intimidation of a
victim, a Madison police spokesman said.
Stanley allegedly battered and choked a 20-year-old woman at about 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, Hanson said. There was no indication that the woman, who had previously been in a relationship with Stanley, sought medical attention, he said. - (more sports) - (SportsCritics) - (-88-) |

Rapper handcuffed in court fracas  Rapper Foxy Brown was handcuffed and threatened with jail after she stuck her tongue out at a New York judge who asked her to stop chewing gum. Judge Melissa Jackson told the singer, whose real name is Inga Marchand, she had showed disrespect to the court. While she was being handcuffed, Ms Marchand shouted at a court officer and, Judge Jackson said, hit her. Ms Marchand is expected to plead guilty to assaulting two nail salon workers during a row over payment.

Monique Berkley used to date a woman who is now a man   The man now goes by the name of Markus Montgomery. Montgomery says Paul Berkley stole Monique away from him, ending their then-lesbian relationship which he says was rocky at best. "She was physically abusive. She pushed me against the door one time and choked me. She hit me in the face gave me a black eye, she admitted it I said what did you do that for she said because I wanted to hurt you." | Holocaust 'Avengers' Reunite A group of elderly Holocaust survivors came forward with accounts of a death squad they formed after World War II to take revenge on their Nazi persecutors, recounting a brazen operation in which they poisoned hundreds of SS officers. The survivors, some of whom fought in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, recalled hunting down SS officers in the dead of night. Disguised as British or American officers, they would drag the SS men out of their homes and execute them, they said. In their largest operation, the group, code-named "the Avengers," received a large amount of arsenic from Paris and laced loaves of bread fed to hundreds of SS officers imprisoned in an American camp after the war. They said they were also planning a broad operation in Dachau and Nuremberg, but the Jewish leadership in what would soon become Israel forced them to abandon the plan. Former East St. Louis Police Chief Convicted Of 3 Felony Charges A federal court jury convicted former East St. Louis Police Chief Ron Matthews of all charges for trying to hide evidence against one of his auxiliary police officers.
Matthews tried to impede the arrest and investigation of Dave Qattoum, including hiding Qattoum's gun. Qattoum is a convicted felon and not allowed to carry a gun.

Honduran Serial Rape Suspect Reynaldo E. Rapalo Had Help Escaping, Police Say  MIAMI -- An accused serial rapist who escaped from jail by climbing through a ceiling vent and rappelling down the building using tied-together bed sheets appears to have had help, the city's police chief said Thursday. Reynaldo E. Rapalo is accused of sexually assaulting seven girls and women in the Little Havana neighborhood in 2002 and 2003. He escaped Tuesday night from the jail where he was awaiting a February trial that could have sent him to prison for life. Reservist home for Christmas slain in N.C. - Adulterous wife and her black lover and his daughter's black lover charged with murder   Home for Christmas after nearly a year in the Middle East, Navy Reservist Paul Berkley was making up for lost time with his family. He arrived Wednesday, in time to hear his 18-year-old son, Zeke, sing the national anthem with his high school chorus. On Friday, he and 16-year-old daughter Becky ate pizza, watched movies and danced. By Sunday, the 46-year-old sailor was dead, shot once in the head during a walk in the park with his wife, Monique. She now stands charged with his slaying, along with two black men -- her alleged black teenage lover and her stepdaughter Becky's black boyfriend.
