    UPDATE: Black man arrested in connection to St. Albans murder of White man
Michael BenbowMicah BurdetteActing on tips from law enforcement and the public, one man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Micah Burdette on Tuesday September 9th. An arrest warrant was served on 24-year-old Michael Benbow, of Huntersville, NC, Friday, September 12. Police found a phone at the Saint Albans City Park, believed to have been in the possession of Burdette, who according to an autopsy, was shot in the head, and a bullet was recovered from his body. The phone contained text messages from someone called "Smoov", which is a name Benbow is known for. The messages indicated that he was planning to meet Burdette on the evening of the murder. When police reviewed mobile phone records of the number that sent the messages to Burdette's phone, they found it was in the area of the Saint Albans City Park around the time of the murder. The complaint says that the St. Albans Police received several tips about Burdette's murder, including one from an anonymous source saying that Benbow was involved. When police interviewed a confidential informant about this case, the informant told police he was familiar with Benbow and knew him to use the name "Smoov". The informant also told police he made contact with Benbow on Thursday, September 11, in which Benbow told him he shot Burdette. Based on this information, Benbow was arrested and charged with first degree murder. He is being held without bond at the South Central Regional Jail. - (Black-on-white)

The unidentified man had to be pepper-sprayed by cops after he slugged at least five people — including several women — on the uptown No. 6 platform around 2 p.m., sources said. Officers then chased the brute down the platform after he tried to make a run for it, but they eventually nabbed him. One person was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment, and a man was treated by EMTs at the scene, authorities and witnesses said. Several others who had been attacked refused medical attention. One crying young woman appeared to have suffered a split lip and was seen being consoled by her female friends. The female Transit Bureau officer who maced the suspect was treated at the station for pepper spray in her eye, witnesses said. “Yeah, I maced the guy,’’ she told a reporter after the frightening incident.     Black Chicago man charged in sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy
Austin AllenA Chicago man was ordered held on $500,000 bail Sunday after authorities say he sexually assaulted two children under the age of 6. Austin Allen, 24, was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault in a Sept. 10 incident involving an acquaintance’s two children, a 4-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, according to court documents. Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Novy said that when the victims’ mother returned home that day, her son told her that he had witnessed Allen cut off his sister’s panties and assaulted her. According to court documents, the boy was also sexually assaulted by Allen. Rape tests were conducted on both victims, according to court documents.

Borchard on Thursday, Sept. 11, approved a request from Welton D. Pulliam's attorney to have Pulliam undergo an independent exam. Pulliam's attorney, Bruce Petrick, made the request after Borchard heard testimony from medical personnel regarding their report that the 24-year-old Pulliam is mentally competent and can be held criminally responsible.

    Police charge black man in connection with stabbing attack on White woman
Elswart Richard BoddenAnnika Horn LANCASTER, Pa. —Lancaster police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a stabbing on Sunday in the city. Elswart Richard Bodden, 23, of Columbia, is now charged with attempted homicide. According to court documents, fingerprints on a pack of cigarettes found at the scene helped them identify Bodden. Police say Bodden broke into the home on the 400 block of West Orange Street just after midnight, stabbed a 29-year-old Annika Horn in the neck, arms and other parts of her body. He then stole cash and a gun. On Sunday night, police identified Bodden as the driver of a black Honda Civic that fled the scene. He was arrested Sunday night and charged with fleeing and eluding police. Investigators say Bodden took off and hit an unmarked police car as he left the scene. Police chased him down Columbia Avenue, but called off the pursuit near Stone Mill Plaza because of safety concerns. The victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital. - (Black-on-white)

Hazleton City Police charged Amir M. Edwards, 22, of North Pine Street in Hazleton, with an open count of criminal homicide following Richards’ death early Thursday morning. Amir was arraigned Friday afternoon. Richards, 27, was the brother of a Luzerne County assistant district attorney, Justin Richards. Police captured Edwards Thursday evening following a day-long investigation. A 17-year-old boy who lives at the Cleveland Street home told police that Edwards, who is a friend of his sister’s, was at their home around 4:30 a.m. Thursday when he began to argue with his sister and push her. Richards, who had been staying at their home, woke up from the noise and told Edwards to leave. Edwards left the house but said he would return. About one hour later, Edwards returned and the argument resumed, police say. At that time, Edwards took his weapon from a kitchen knife block and stabbed Richards one time, the witness told police. - (Black-on-white)

The man was rushed to Oconee Memorial hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Pickens County Coroner identified the victim as 20-year-old Cameron Ray Flores. Police arrested Michael Taquarius Rancher, 18, and charged him with murder. Rancher went to the apartments where the victim was visiting. The victim and Rancher exchanged words, which led to a fight. The recent arrests have the victim and his family breathing a sigh of relief. On Friday, officers from the North Ridgeville Police Department, along with the U.S. Marshal's Northeast Ohio Violent Fugitive Taskforce, arrested three males in connection with the felonious assault and robbery of a 16-year-old boy on Aug. 9. The investigation revealed that this was a random act of violence and the victim had no connection to any of the suspects involved. While walking home from the city's Corn Festival, the teen was approached by a group of males who asked for his phone memory card. They ended up punching and kicking him. The suspects then took off with his money, clothes and shoes. Jon Vincenzo's son stopped at a nearby gas station bloody, bruised and half-naked, but he was told to leave. "It is documented. People yelled at him, told him to put some clothes on, but there were some Good Samaritans that actually were coming out of the gas station and realized he needed help," said Vincenzo. Corey Bernard Moss was sentenced to 30 years in prison with a parole possibility after 15 years. He was fined $10,000 and Fort Bliss officials say he may be dishonorably discharged from the military. Moss pleaded guilty Monday to a first-degree felony charge of burglary of habitation. He admitted to breaking into the home of Rachel Poole and stabbing her several times while she was nine months pregnant because he didn’t want to pay back money he owed her. Officers said when they arrived at Wilson’s house they found the head outside and a decaying human corpse inside the home. Smith) A 15-year-old Delaware teen has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for her role in the carjacking and kidnapping of an 89-year-old woman. The teen was charged as an adult and pleaded guilty to carjacking, kidnapping and conspiracy charges. She and three other teenagers were arrested last year. Authorities say the 15-year-old girl and another teen stole Margaret Smith's car, shoved her in the trunk and kept her there without food or water for two days. They eventually abandoned the woman in Sussex County.





Texas high school chemistry teacher arrested with date rape drug ‘recipes’ in her backpack
Haivan BuiTexas high school chemistry teacher was taken into custody Friday afternoon before she taught her last class of the day, following a drug raid at her apartment. Haivan Bui, who teaches chemistry at both Oak Ridge High and Lone Star College in Conroe, Texas, reportedly had notes on how to manufacture so-called ‘date-rape drugs,’ in her backpack at the time of her arrest. Police took the teacher into custody following a raid on her Woodlands apartment where police discovered more recipes, as well as methamphetamine, marijuana, numerous prescription medications, and Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate, a compound used in the manufacture of date rape drugs.

    Black 'animal' Convicted Of Killing White Elderly Neighbor For Cash, Jewelry To Buy Drugs
Peter Gerard JonesBernice SchaufeleA Novi man has been found guilty of killing his 84-year-old neighbor. An Oakland County jury deliberated for a little more than an hour Friday before returning its verdict against Peter Gerard Jones. The 47-year-old faces mandatory life in prison after being convicted of first-degree felony murder and first-degree murder in the death of Bernice Schaufele. Schaufele’s body was found Jan. 13 in her home in the 20900 block of West Glen Haven Circle at the Country Place condo complex, about 20 miles northwest of Detroit. Schaufele’s daughter had come to check on her after she failed to show up for a doctor’s appointment. Authorities say Jones, an ex-convict whose criminal history includes two murders, killed Schaufele and then stole money and jewelry to buy crack cocaine. Schaufele died of “near strangling and a stab wound to the neck. Jones, who lived two doors down from Schaufele, was out on parole at the time of the killing for another violent crime. He pleaded no contest to manslaughter after authorities say he fatally stabbed a Detroit man in 1997. - (Black-on-white)

The suspect, Terry Froman, 41, of Brookport, Illinois, was taken into custody in the Cincinnati area and faced murder and kidnapping charges back in Kentucky, said Dewayne Redmon, the sheriff in Graves County in western Kentucky. The suspect was taken to a hospital to be examined, Redmon said. Slain: Michael 'Eli' Mahoney was killed in his home after trying to protect his mother from her estranged boyfriend, Sheriff Dewayne Redmon said. Mother: Kim Thomas, Mahoney's mother was reportedly abducted by estranged boyfriend Terry Froman Froman's vehicle was stopped by Ohio authorities, who found 34-year-old Kim Thomas dead inside, the sheriff said. According to WHIO, Froman had shot himself. Thomas 'was found naked and bloody, and likely was shot multiple times,' the affiliate station reported. Earlier Friday, authorities found the body of her 17-year-old son, Michael Mahoney, in the front part of their home in Mayfield, Kentucky, Redmon said. There were signs of a struggle, he said. 'What we believe, apparently the son intervened and tried to protect his mother, and it cost him his life,' the sheriff said. Prosecutors played surveillance video of the attack frame by frame, as victim Rebecca Stafford described what she remembered. "I remember him reaching into my car, and grabbing me, and I said, 'Are you going to hit me?' And then it was like lights out, and then I don't remember anything until I woke up," said Stafford. Stafford, 47, told prosecutors what she experienced when she was repeatedly punched last September. Firefighter Ian Eulian and his mother Lonieta Fontaine are accused in the attack. Pictures of her bruised and battered face were shown in court. At one point, Stafford broke down in tears while looking at the surveillance video. Stafford told the jury as the heated confrontation escalated, she tried to diffuse it by telling Eulian she was not there to feed the cats, but to trap an injured cat to get it help. - (Black-on-white)

    Biracial Pair Arrested in Connection to Missing White Man
Robert Otis Nuttall  and Gwen Maria ButcherChristopher Rossing Two people have been arrested in connection to a missing person in Wright County. Officials say 25-year-old Christopher Rossing has not been seen or heard from since Friday, Aug. 22. On Wednesday, Sept. 10, deputies arrested 28-year-old Robert Otis Nuttall on kidnapping charges. Thirty-two-year-old Gwen Maria Butcher was then arrested Friday, Sept. 12, on felony obstruction charges. Both were connected to Rossing’s disappearance, officials say. According to the investigation, Rossing was involved in some sort of physical altercation with Nuttall along Highway 12 in the city of Howard Lake before his disappearance. Anyone who witnessed the altercation or has information about the case is asked to call the Wright County Sheriff’s Office at 763-682-7637. Rossing still has not been located, and it’s still an active investigation. - (Black-on-white)

Allen, 43, has been charged with super aggravated sexual assault for the alleged sexual encounters, which allegedly took place 10 times, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. The affidavit said Allen, a foster parent, performed sexual acts on the alleged victim and forced her to perform sexual acts on him. He was taken into custody at 11:56 p.m.

She is currently 31 weeks pregnant with her fifth child, and she claims to suffer from mental illness and bipolar disorder. She has reportedly received treatment for mental health issues and drug abuse in the past. In 2006 and 2008, Seattle resident Chantae Gilman pleaded to criminal charges in unrelated cases.

According to court records, Mary Prince, the suspect, is charged with three counts of second-degree sodomy and one of sexual abuse of a child younger than 12 years old. According to their report, the boys lived in Prince's neighborhood. Starting sometime this summer, she allegedly began inviting them into her home and subjecting them to sexual activity.

When police arrived, they found the teen's mother holding Kessler. Kessler told police that he and the boy met four times, had oral and anal sex and used protection every time except once. According to the District Attorney's Office, Raymond Matthew Austin Jr., 21, and three others kidnapped Charles Soukup from the Jacksonville International Airport in a stolen rental car. Austin, who was 17 at the time, reportedly choked the elderly man before taking him to a wooded area and shooting him in the forehead at close range. Austin and the three other defendants fled in the stolen car. The DA's Office said later in the same day Austin shot one of the co-defendant's ex-boyfriends in the chest. In 2012, a jury convicted Austin of first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, kidnapping with a firearm and armed robbery. Austin was sentenced to 90 years in prison for Soukup's murder and 45 years in prison for the second-degree murder conviction. The sentences will be served consecutively. - (Black-on-white)

He said the money was his portion of the $300 taken during the beating, robbery and murder of Bilal Berreni last year, according to statements read by Detroit police homicide investigator Ira Todd. The teen, who is not being named because he is a juvenile, was in Wayne County Juvenile Court for his preliminary examination before Judge Virgil Smith on murder and robbery charges. The teen and three other defendants are accused in Berreni’s death after confronting him on the basketball courts of the abandoned Brewster public housing projects at St. Antoine and Alfred the afternoon of July 29, 2013. Berreni, 23, was looking for scrap materials to salvage for an art project he was working on, Todd said. The four were part of a violent street gang called the Young Brewster (racial epithet), which, police say, have robbed and terrorized areas where Wayne State University students have frequented. They also have attacked and robbed others in the St. Antoine/Chene and Interstate 75/Mack areas. According to the 14-year-old’s statement to police, the four teens approached Berreni and asked him for money. When he refused to give up his cash, he was attacked and shot in the face. One of the defendants found $300 in Berreni’s pant leg. The group also took his Bridge and ATM cards. Brandon B. Howell was previously charged with assaulting the couple, brutally beating and leaving them in the basement of their South Kansas City home.     Man Gets 5 Years In Prison For Sexual Battery On Metro Train
Danon DrakeA Los Angeles man was sentenced to five years in state prison Tuesday for sexually battering a woman on a Metro Purple Line train in Koreatown. Danon Drake, 23, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to Deputy District Attorney Gloria Marin. Drake pleaded no contest Aug. 25 to two felony counts of sexual battery by restraint. The attack happened May 17, at about 10:45 p.m., on a Metro Purple Line train on its way to Union Station. Drake was alone in the rail car with the woman between the Wilshire/Western and Wilshire/Normandie stops, authorities said. Authorities say Drake approached the woman and held her down as he committed the crimes. She was able to kick him off and get away when the train stopped.

    Roanoke Rapids man arrested on sex offense charges

Bodden, 23, of the 300 block of South Third Street, is charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and burglary. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail in Lancaster County Prison. Police used the word "brutal" in describing the stabbing, which occurred just after midnight Sunday at a residence in the 400 block of West Orange Street. A 29-year-old woman was stabbed and was still listed in critical condition as of Tuesday, according to police.

Person County Sheriff Dewey Jones said the homeowner, whom he did not name, discovered Jonathan Ellias Ziminack, 25, in the bedroom at about 5 a.m. wearing a mask “like a hoodie (but) only his eyes were showing.” The homeowner pulled a pistol from beside his bed and fired one shot at Ziminack, Jones said. The bullet hit the shotgun before striking Ziminack in the stomach, Jones said. Ziminack was transported by medical helicopter to Duke University Medical Center where he died on the way to surgery, Jones said. After the shooting, deputies stopped Ziminack's girlfriend, Cody Alicia Bowling, 20, driving the would-be getaway car in the area, Jones said. She was being held Monday in the Person County jail under a $75,000 bond for conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary. Jones said authorities are considering charging Bowling with first-degree burglary and attempted armed robbery.

  • Asian Man kills girlfriend in bloody murder-suicide
    A man fatally shot his girlfriend in the head before turning the weapon on himself in a bloody murder-suicide on a Queens street Monday night, cops said. Xie Bin, 51 gunned down his girlfriend 46-year-old Ya Ling Meng outside a restaurant in Flushing at around 5:30 p.m., according to police. The deranged gunman then shot himself in the head. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

    FLUSHING, Queens – It originated as a 911 call about an apartment fire, but ended up being the scene of multiple deadly crimes. All day Tuesday, and into the night, investigators with both the NYPD and FDNY were at the apartment on Roosevelt Avenue shared by the Lee Family, after the father, Yong Hun Lee, 50, slashed the throats of his wife and teenage son, and then tried to torch their home before using the knife to slash his own throat. It was a grisly scene that firefighters came upon after receiving the 911 call at 4:50 A.M. Tuesday. Slumped in a heap amid the flames and smoke were the bodies of Lee and his wife, Sung Hye Lee, 54, and their son, Brian Lee, 15, according to investigators.

    Missouri prepares to execute Earl Ringo Jr.
Earl Ringo Jr.JoAnna Marie BaysingerDennis PoyserST. LOUIS – Missouri prepared Tuesday to execute a man convicted in a 1998 robbery and double-murder at a restaurant where he used to work. Earl Ringo Jr. — scheduled to die at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday — would be the eighth person executed in Missouri this year and the 10th since November. On July 3, 1998, Ringo shared with Quentin Jones his plan to rob the Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Columbia, where he once worked. Jones agreed to join him. Before sunrise on July 4, Ringo and Jones hid behind a grease pit in the back of the restaurant. Delivery driver Dennis Poyser arrived and was met by manager trainee JoAnna Baysinger. They entered the restaurant. Ringo followed them and shot Poyser, 45, killing him instantly. He ordered Baysinger to open a safe. She pulled out $1,400 and gave it to him. Ringo gave the gun to Jones who stood with the weapon pointed at Baysinger's head for a minute-and-a-half before pulling the trigger.
