The sisters were stripped, beaten and raped over the course of an hour before they were shoved off a pier of the bridge into the Mississippi River. Their cousin, Tom Cummins, 19, was forced to watch the assault and then ordered to jump into the river. Diverse trio of hurricane evacuees accused of killing White woman who helped them  Three hurricane evacuees were charged with capital murder Saturday in the strangulation of Betty Blair, a 77-year-old church leader, mother of three daughters and the widow of former Pasadena school board President Robert "Bob" Blair. Jimmy Hoang Le, 18, Stephanie Jacobo, 18, both from the Beaumont area, and Roosevelt Smith Jr., 43, of Louisiana, were charged with murdering Blair during a robbery at her Pasadena home Friday.
An active member of St. Pius V Catholic Church, Blair had been helping the three by paying them to do odd jobs and yard work on her property.
"It appears that those that she tried to help were the ones that murdered her," said Pasadena Police Department spokesman Vance Mitchell. The three lived together in an apartment in the 900 block of Randall in Pasadena, Mitchell said. - (veritas1515, Gman) - (crime) |
Conviction of Colombian migrant in 2001 rape of jogger upheld  Milton Romero-Camacho is serving 26 years to life after being found guilty in 2003 of two counts of second-degree kidnapping and three counts of sexual assault. The 24-year-old woman was attacked from behind as she ran along a trail in the
park in December 2001. She was threatened with a knife, had tape put over her
mouth and was raped on a baby blanket her attacker had placed behind some
bushes. An investigator said Romero-Camacho’s wife initially said her husband bragged he had raped “about five” women. During the trial, Romero-Camacho, whose first language is Spanish, testified he
was confused when he confessed.
Romero-Camacho, who was born in Cali, Colombia, and is not a U.S. citizen, could be deported after serving his sentence. - (Invasion!) |
| Field laborer Jesus Martinez sentenced to prison for raping relative - "I never do nothin' to no one," he told the court in broken English. A man was sent to prison Friday for three to 10 years for repeatedly raping a relative over the course of three years. Jesus Martinez -- who despite pleading no contest to assault with intent to commit criminal sexual penetration -- denies that sex ever occurred with the woman, who was living under his roof. The 21-year-old victim, who spoke in court Friday, said she became pregnant from the June 16 rape, and Judge Michael Dodge said in court that DNA tests proved that Martinez, 44, fathered one of her other two children. Citizenship status of suspect not reported. |

Sports: Canada: HIV-positive footballer charged with sexual assault of B.C. woman A member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders football team has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a B.C. woman and police revealed Friday he is HIV-positive. Trevis Smith was arresting Friday morning in Regina and will be transferred to British Columbia to face the charge, RCMP said in a news release. RCMP said disclosing an accused criminal's medical status was unusual but felt a public warning about Smith's HIV-positive status was necessary. Police said in a news release that anyone who may have had sexual contact with him and is concerned about exposure to HIV should immediately see their doctor or go to a clinic for testing, as well as contact police in relation to their investigation. - (more sports) - (Canada) - (Brewski) |
Sports: Central Florida Soccer Coach Charged With Molesting Two Girl Players Deputies busted a soccer coach on charges he molested two of his players. Parents worry the two girls aren't the only ones. Steve Oliver, 32, was a volunteer for the Soccer Club. He faces 16 counts of assaulting two sisters. Oliver told the girls "something bad would happen" if they told anyone about what happened inside his house. After the girls' mother became suspicious, the girls told a story - they were babysitters at Oliver's home. He'd met them on the soccer field and befriended their mother. She was comfortable with the babysitting, at least as first. "I started to get suspicious when I saw her on his lap and thought, what is a 30-year-old doing with a 14-year-old on his lap?" the girls' mother said. - (war eagle) - (crime) - (more sports) |

Ohio: Priest enters plea in public indecency case for homosexual orgy with two other men in the park Clarence Heis, 51, is accused of public indecency and resisting arrest. Police arrested him last week in a Greene County park, where he was allegedly engaging in sex acts with two other men.
