Man Gets Death for Killing Three in Ala.   Ala. -- A judge sentenced a man to die Thursday for the murders of two officers and a dispatcher at a rural police station, slayings the victims' families blame partly on the killer's obsession with a violent video game.
Devin Moore showed no emotion as the judge sentenced him to death by injection, but he apologized beforehand to his victims' relatives. I am so sorry. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me," the 20-year-old said in a low voice.
In June 2003, Moore murdered the entire night shift of the Fayette Police Department: officers Arnold Strickland, 55, and James Crump, 40, and dispatcher Leslie "Ace" Mealer, 38.
Moore had been arrested on suspicion of car theft. Prosecutor Chris McCool said Moore grabbed one officer's gun and shot the three men simply because he didn't want to spend a weekend in jail. - (crime) - (Black-on-White) - (Tyrone N. Killer Who Claimed Rap Influence Executed - Black Satanic Rap Kills  A man was executed Thursday for gunning down Bill Davidson, a Texas state trooper in 1992, a slaying his trial attorneys had argued was prompted by anti-police rap music. For his final statement, Ronald R. Howard looked at Linda Davidson, the trooper's widow, Davidson's daughter and brother and said he hoped "this helps a little. I don't know how, but I hope it helps." Then he turned to friends and a brother who were among his witnesses, expressing love and thanking them for locating two of his young children, who visited him on death row within the past week. | Black Muslim Inmate accused of murdering guard declared mentally incompetent LOS ANGELES Oct 7, 2005 — An inmate accused of fatally stabbing one guard and injuring four others at a federal prison was declared mentally unfit to stand trial. Roy C. Green, charged with the 1997 murder of guard Scott Williams, has a mental disorder that prevents him from assisting his attorney at trial, U.S. District Judge Consuelo B. Marshall ruled Thursday. She ordered him to return a prison psychiatric facility for treatment until he is found competent. Green was serving time at the Lompoc maximum security prison for drug dealing and assaulting officers at another prison when he allegedly attacked Williams and the other officers. - (crime) Ref: Delta County father Jim Williams waiting for justice For almost seven years, the Delta County resident has waited for the trial of the man accused of killing his son, Scott. It’s not that the suspect hasn’t been captured; Roy C. Green has been behind bars since April 3, 1997, the day the slaying took place. The problem is that federal prosecutors haven’t brought the case to trial. Williams thinks he knows why. He sees a tie to terrorism. Controversy surrounds the case because of Green’s involvement with with Mahmud Abouhalima, a central figure in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center in New York. Abouhalima is serving 240 years for his role in the bombing. “There is a Muslim terrorist movement in the federal prison system,” Williams claims. “Scott told me about it before his death, and the people in charge do not want this information to get out.” Ref: Trial delays anger guards Ref: Black family fighting to show inmate isn't a killer Roy Charleston Green, also known as Haneef Bilal, has spent most of his life in prison but is no killer, his family says. Academic and author Stephen Hagan has fought for six years to have the ES Nigger Brown sign at the Toowoomba Athletic Oval taken down, saying the word “nigger” denigrated Aboriginal and dark-skinned people. Disabled girl violently raped, hositalized, Caretaker's black boyfriend arrested - Victim Cannot Walk Or Talk Ohio -- A man faced a judge Wednesday, accused of raping a severely disabled teenage girl. The courtroom was quiet as the prosecutor read the disturbing facts of what
happened to the 15-year-old girl. Investigators said the girl, who can't walk or talk, was raped so violently that she had to be hospitalized.
"She suffers from some disabilities and is unable to care for herself in any way," the prosecutor said. "In fact, she's non-verbal. She crawls and grunts and gestures to communicate with people."
A Franklin County grand jury indicted Jason Garrard, 24, on rape and assault charges. The suspect is Christina Robinson's boyfriend and according to police, Robinson left the

Sports: Ex-Cincinnati State basketballer faces 2nd rape trial  Hamilton County prosecutors plan to try former Cincinnati State basketball player Floyd Davis again after a jury announced earlier this week it couldn't decide if the 20-year-old raped another student in a college classroom. 3 nabbed in kidnap, home invasion Pennsylvania State Police have arrested three people, including a Cumberland County resident, in connection with Monday's kidnapping and shooting in Lancaster County. Those charged are Amber Sunshine Catherine Griggs, 18, Anthony Marcus Davis, 20 and Raymond Benjamin Gaines, 20.
Griggs and Davis face first-degree felony aggravated assault charges.
Gaines faces three charges of first-degree felony kidnapping, one count of attempted murder, and one count each of felony aggravated assault, burglary and robbery. The girl's mother, Catherine Stone, said that she hasn't spoken to her daughter since the alleged crimes, that she
"wasn't sure where to find" her daughter, and that she only learned of the alleged crimes through news reports.Stone said Anthony Marcus Davis is an ex-boyfriend of one of her other daughters. Court papers say the boy's mother, Patricia Westervelt, told authorities the men ordered her from her home because "her husband had made a mistake." The intruders ordered her to get into the family's Kia minivan. David Westervelt was shot as he was escaping, police say. - (crime) |
