Iowa Man Charged With Criminal Transmission Of H.I.V There's a new case of a man accused of intentionally exposing others to HIV. This time, a father-in-law reported the man to police, making it the third case of intentional HIV exposure in three weeks. Dewayne Boyd is behind bars charged with criminal transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Authorities believe between August 1st and August 10th, the 31-year-old had sexual intercourse three times with one woman. But that's not the whole story. Investigators learned about the case through Boyd's father-in-law, who says his daughter suffers from the virus too. He's the man accused of intentionally exposing at least one woman to HIV. Victim Says HIV Case Surprising To Suspect's Family And Friends We now know more about the man accused of intentionally spreading H-I-V in Minnehaha county. Sterling Davis Williams is accused of having sex with two women and not telling them he's infected with HIV. He's currently in the State Penitentiary on a parole violation. Williams is the first man accused of intentionally spreading HIV in Minnehaha County. According to one of his victims - Tonia Vandervliet remembers when she found the medication he used to treat the HIV... Police: Man set his girlfriend on fire after she broke off engagement
Police in Macon, Ga., arrested a man Monday who allegedly doused his girlfriend with gasoline and set her on fire after she broke off their engagement. Jomekia Pope, a 29-year-old who has a history of domestic abuse, faces charges of aggravated assault and arson stemming from a horrific assault Sunday at his ex-girlfriend's home. Latosha Taylor, 26, was in critical condition undergoing her third surgery Wednesday, her stepfather Harold Banks said. Texas Man Tied to Four Slayings Executed HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- A former farm worker from central Texas was executed Wednesday for beating a man to death with a car jack during a violent spree 17 years ago. "I wish I could do something to replace your father, your loved one," Gary Sterling said. "But I can't. I know this was a heinous crime." He was condemned for the May 1988 death of John Carty, 72, at his home near Corsicana. Prosecutors also had evidence tying Sterling to the slaying of Delores Smith, 52, a friend of Carty's whose purse and glasses were found at Sterling's home. Sterling led police to their bodies after he was arrested for the slayings of brothers William Porter, 72, and Leroy Porter, 71, near Waco. - (crime) |
Man, Teen Charged With Murder In Home Invasion KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man and a teenager were charged with murder in a home invasion from last year, prosecutors said. On Sept. 18, Christopher Cummings was shot and killed inside his home. According to court documents, the culprit then stole Cummings' wallet and necklaces. Brian C. Ross, 21, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is being held on $200,000 bond. Jazwon M. Franklin, 17, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Man Arrested In Connection With Body Found In Shed Fort Worth police have arrested Patrick Evans, saying he is wanted in connection with the death of a "Houston person". Police said Evans drove to Fort Worth from Houston with the body in the trunk of his car, and then stuffed the body into a storage shed. The body was found last week wrapped in a tarp in a shed in the back yard of an east Fort Worth home. Woman Accused Of Defrauding 72-Year-Old Man NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a 45-year-old Algiers woman accused of defrauding a man out of more than $10,000. According to investigators, the 72-year-old victim was confined to a convalescence home following major surgery. The owner/operator of the home, Reejeanie Williams Brooks told him that his home was going to be foreclosed if the mortgage was not paid. In order to prevent the foreclosure, Brooks told the man that she paid his mortgage from August 2004 through April 2005 and wanted to be reimbursed. The victim returned to the bank with Brooks and obtained a check in her name for the amount of $10,355. - (White Boy) |
Diversity: Black and white women accused of abducting and robbing elderly man INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Two women allegedly abducted and robbed an 80-year-old Independence man. Police alleged that Tammy L. Blake, 40, and Cassundra R. McGill, 37, followed the man to his home and confronted him about "a traffic accident". They then allegedly threatened him with a hidden handgun, bound and blindfolded him, The pair then allegedly forced him to go to his bank and withdraw a large sum of money. Secret Service Looks for Suspect Passing Counterfeit Bills The U.S. Secret Service and the Virginia Beach Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man suspected of passing counterfeit $20 bills at local convenience stores. Officials believe 30-year old Melvin McIntosh has been passing the fake bills for the past few years. McIntosh is wanted on federal warrants for possession of counterfeit currency, conspiracy to pass counterfeit currency and dealing of counterfeit currency. - (Tyrone N. Butts) - (TNB) |
