Samson Y. Berhe, who turns 18 on Thursday, was ordered detained in juvenile court. He was arrested Monday after he was found on a barge
across the Duwamish River from the shooting scene. Michael Robb, a tennis coach at Newport High School, was shot in the face Sunday
night as he sat in his car on West Marginal Way in Seattle. Witnesses said a
male approached the car and fired a shotgun through the open driver's side
window, then ran toward the river. Neighbors told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News the teen said he had a grudge against white people. "He always say that he (was) gonna kill all the white people in the world," said Anna Bell Perkins. "Samson had, like, some sort of complex against Caucasian people. And he said he wanted to kill them all and told me I could watch," said another neighbor. According to court documents, Behre owned a shotgun. Police cut down a tree from his yard and recovered a bullet of the same caliber used to kill Robb. Trial Underway in Manslaughter Death of a First Coast Mother  JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The woman charged in the manslaughter death of Krystal Duss, a mother of two killed in a car crash on Beach Boulevard, will not take the stand in her own defense. Dianesha Johnson is accused of drinking and driving the night police say she hit Duss' mini-van. Jurors heard about blood tests that showed Mrs. Johnson was nearly twice the

Embattled Pastor Faces 4 New Sex Charges FORT WORTH, Texas -- Former Pastor Terry Hornbuckle, who already was under indictment and facing trial for sexual assault charges, was indicted again Wednesday. A Tarrant County grand jury indicted Hornbuckle with four addition counts. The
new charges include two charges of sexual assault, one of which allegedly
occurred after his last arrest on similar charges.
The other new charges include counts of tampering with evidence and retaliation.

Girl, 15, Killed For Refusing Kiss For Elisa Hernandez, no meant no — and a tragic death at age 15.
When a frustrated "suitor" named Alfred Bishop asked her for a kiss, she refused him. Again and again, he asked. She said no. When he pulled out a revolver and pointed at her head, she pushed it away.
"She laughed him off," Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey Blitz said.

Harwell sentenced to life for East Toledo rape and murder Robert Harwell, 21, showed no emotion as the judge announced a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years for killing Joann Harris, 62, five years ago in her home in East Toledo. Mrs. Harris, a widow who lived alone, was sexually assaulted and attacked on
Feb. 3, 2000, in her home after she heard Harwell and a
neighbor arguing and went outside to investigate.
After Harwell chased the neighbor with a knife, he entered Mrs. Harris’ home through a back door and attacked her. She was raped and shot under both eyes with a handgun she kept in her home for protection. - (Brewski) - (crime) |

Pomona rape suspect's trial begins - Prosecution says suspect's DNA matches evidence  The mother of slain Cerritos resident Christina Burmeister took the stand in Pomona Superior Court Tuesday, recalling the last moments she saw her daughter alive. It was the first day of testimony in the preliminary hearing for James Winslow Dixon, the man accused of kidnapping and murdering the Cal Poly Pomona student.

Dirty Old Man Arrested For Sexually Assaulting 4-Year-Old Louis County Police arrested 66-year-old Bennie Jones, and he has been charged with statutory sodomy. Prosecutors say a witness saw Jones "sitting on a bed, pants pulled down below his knees and 4 year old [female victim] was performing oral sex on him."
Police say Jones told them he does not remember doing it, but if someone saw him, then he says he must have done it.

Gerald Fuller, 40, has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. DNA leads to arrest in 1994 case of rape of 71-year-old woman  CINCINNATI -- A man has been indicted and arrested in connection with a 1994 rape case, prosecutor Joe Deters said. Almost 11 years later, DNA evidence recently connected Keith Hawkins, 37, to the
rape of a then 71-year-old woman in her Kenwood home on July 17, 1994, Deters
said.

Newport News Police Issue Warrant for Roanoke Police Chief  Roanoke Police Chief Joe Gaskins' estranged wife has sworn out a warrant accusing him of simple assault, Newport News officials said Tuesday.
