Nance was convicted in the 1992 slaying of 73-year-old Violet Fraley of Florence. Her husband was seriously injured in the attack. "Offing Adolf" - by Séan Carroll In his masterful 2004 German film Downfall (Der Untergang) writer Bernd Eichinger has Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels tell Brigadeführer Mohnke: "I repeat, Mohnke, I feel no sympathy (for German civilians being slaughtered in the defense of Berlin). German people chose their fate. That may surprise some people. Don’t fool yourself. We didn’t force the German people. They gave us a mandate and now their little throats are being cut." - (Commentary) |
