Suspect Hector Munoz accused of attempted rape A Wilmington man accused of robbing and trying to rape a 25-year-old woman Tuesday in the parking lot of Iron Hill Apartments near Newark has been arrested on suspicion of those crimes and charges relating to four other burglaries at the complex, county police said.
Hector Munoz, 25, of the 1000 block of W. Fourth St., was charged Thursday with attempted rape, robbery, assault, possession of cocaine, and four counts each of burglary, theft and criminal mischief. - (-88-) - (crime) |

As they arrived, the man jumped out of a bedroom window onto a ledge and escaped. Canada: Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew attacked by black - Good Samaritan punched in face by black  The black Montreal man who is accused of attacking and attempting to rob Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew will spend New Year's Eve in jail before undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. The judge denied bail and ordered the evaluation during a court appearance Friday, claiming he didn't want a "ticking time bomb," roaming the streets. The 24-year-old house painter, Frederick Estelle, has been charged with assault and robbery stemming from an incident Wednesday. Estelle is alleged to have attacked Pettigrew while he was waiting for a train in Montreal. Pettigrew was allegedly accosted by the man who reportedly told him "this is my territory, you have no business here." Pettigrew was talking on his cell phone at the time and attempted to ignore the man. Estelle allegedly then grabbed Pettigrew by the shoulder and attempted to wrestle his cell phone from his hand. A Good Samaritan tried to intervene and was allegedly punched in the face in the process.
Police then arrested Estelle, who told them he knew he had attacked "a well known public figure."

Canadian visitor Chi Yung Luu Suspected Of Videotaping Locker Room Shower  OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A British Columbia man has been arrested for investigation of videotaping male high school wrestlers in a locker room shower during a tournament at Tumwater High School.
Tumwater police say the man, Chi Yung Luu, 29, had a video camera hidden in a towel. The man was booked into Thurston County Jail for investigation of 15 counts of voyeurism, one for each athlete police say were filmed. The incident happened during the Tumwater Invitational wrestling tournament. - (Canada) - (-88-) |
Couple Charged With Homicide In Death Of Their Nephew RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- A man and his wife were charged with homicide in the death of their 11-year-old nephew, and police were investigating whether another body found at their home may have been that of the boy's older brother. Raul Ricardo Sarinana, 38, was arrested after he called police and
reported that he "may have killed his nephew". Sarinana's wife, Cathy Lynn Sarinana, 28, was also arrested.
Raul Sarinara was charged with homicide with special circumstances of inflicting torture, and Cathy Sarinara with homicide and felony child endangerment. Lawsuit Alleges Discrimination Against Whites in Mississippi MACON, Miss. — In overwhelmingly black and Democratic Noxubee County, Miss., everybody knows local Democratic Party Chairman Ike Brown. Officials at the U.S. Justice Department know Brown too; they're suing him. Using the 1965 Voting Rights Act, the government has alleged that Brown and local elections officials discriminated against whites. It is the first time the Justice Department has ever claimed that whites suffered discrimination in voting because of race. The Justice Department says Brown and local elections officials disenfranchised whites — challenging their voting status, rejecting their absentee ballots and telling voters to choose candidates according to race. Assault Charge Filed In Cell Phone Swallowing - Phone Was Lodged In Woman's Throat  KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A 23-year-old man was charged in connection with a woman who was assaulted with a cell phone.
Marlon B. Gill was charged with first-degree assault.
Melinda Abell was taken to a hospital when she had trouble breathing. Doctors operated to remove a cell phone that was lodged in her throat.
Abell told officers that Gill, her ex-boyfriend, had forced her into a car and demanded to see her cell phone. They were stopped in a parking lot and Abell said Gill grabbed her by the mouth, held it open and shoved the phone down her throat.

Black former officer accused of rape, kidnap, strangulation and sexual abuse * Bail is set at $115,000 in rape case SALEM, Ore. -- A former Salem police officer faces charges of rape, strangulation, kidnapping and sex abuse. Sterling Van Ness Alexander, 38, was arrested and is lodged without bail in the Clackamas County Jail. The alleged victim met Alexander through his work. Prosecutors say the crimes happened in September 2003 while the officer was off duty. It was not reported until earlier this year. Alexander resigned from the Salem Police Department last year. Sports: Florida State footballer A.J. Nicholson accused of rape  Fla. -- Leading tackler A.J. Nicholson was suspended by Florida State and questioned by police Thursday after a 19-year-old woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. The woman called police at 3 a.m. Thursday and said she had been assaulted by a Florida State player, later identified as Nicholson, a police detective said. The alleged assault occurred at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa, where the Seminoles are staying. Nicholson went to the police station voluntarily and was questioned for two hours, Negron said. Black Public Defender Resigns Amid Allegations Of Sexual Misconduct DURHAM, N.C. -- Durham's lead public defender, accused of inappropriate conduct in the workplace, has, resigned. Bob Brown, who was suspended last week amid allegations that he used his authority as public defender to make sexual advances toward an assistant public defender, submitted his resignation. In court documents filed last week, Danielle Bruno alleges that Brown shared
with her in graphic detail about his anatomy and a personal experience. She also
accused him of asking for personal details about her marriage and her life.

Black professional armed robber shoots lighter-skinned black software engineer in the back in a 'random act'   BALTIMORE -- Police announced Tuesday afternoon the arrest of a man allegedly connected to the slaying of a father of three children last month.
Baltimore police said Alvin Williams, 25, turned himself in because of pressure from police and relatives.
Authorities charged Williams with the murder of Brian Jones, 33, and two unrelated armed robberies.
Jones was shot in what police have called a "random act" -- a robbery in which nothing was taken. Police discovered Jones' body on the lawn of a nursing home with at least one
gunshot wound to the back. Jones was a software engineer at Northrup-Grumman who coached sports at a High School. He was also a basketball player at his alma mater, Tennessee State University. - (crime) - (NNN Newsroom) |
Two blacks shoot Hispanic 'Jesus' dead on Christmas Eve  Police have made an arrest in a Christmas Eve shooting case that left one man dead.
Terrance Watters, 19, of Birmingham, has been arrested.
However, they're still looking for another suspect, 17-year-old Ronald Mayhand.
Mayhand is considered armed and dangerous.
Police believe the two broke into the home of 26-year-old Jesus Galacia Toral Saturday and shot him.

SAN ANTONIO -- A convicted sex offender was arrested in San Antonio Wednesday after he illegally sneaked back into the country, police said. Angel Ruiz Bernal, 35, was taken into custody following a routine traffic stop. He was arrested eight years ago and served a five-year sentence for rape. After being released from prison, Bernal was deported to Mexico.
"We also understand that he has an extensive criminal history ranging from 
Police in Williamsburg and James City County are looking for a 24-year old man accused of sex crimes against a 12-year old girl. Officials say the crimes happened between August and early December at the home of Jonathan White in Williamsburg, as well as at the home of one of White's relatives in James City County.
Police say the alleged sex acts did not involve force, but White faces charges because they involved a minor. 
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Somali immigrants upset over the fatal police shooting of a man they say had mental health problems rallied Friday in protest, questioning the decision to use deadly force.
Now that President Bush has launched a new propaganda campaign to convince Americans that we are winning the war in Iraq, it's a good idea to go back to the basics and look at the pluses and minuses of this war. The minuses we all know. The war was sold on false pretenses, there being neither weapons of mass destruction nor ties to al-Qaeda, which after all, was responsible for the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Saddam Hussein's government was secular, and the majority of people in Iraq are Shi'ites. Al-Qaeda is a fanatical religious movement that is Sunni, which is why you need never fear that al-Qaeda will take over Iraq.
