Hearing ordered on Tate's mental condition * Lionel Tate Hearing Postponed After He Threatens Suicide * "I was hearing voices"  A hearing that could have meant a return behind bars for Lionel Tate, once the youngest person in modern U.S. history sentenced to life in prison, was postponed Monday because he sent a letter to a judge threatening to kill himself.
Tate, convicted at age 13 of killing a 6-year-old girl, was examined during the weekend by a psychologist whose findings will be presented at a competency hearing on December 19. Tate faces six charges of probation violation. The judge could sentence him to

Gunman shoots and kills three, including two 'random victims' Police arrested a 21-year-old Sunrise man Friday night, minutes after he shot and killed three people execution style -- including two "random victims" at a gas station, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Ralston G. Davis Jr. is being held without bond at Broward County Jail on three counts of first degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court Sunday, a jail official said. Police identified the victims of the shooting as Myosha Renee Proby, 28, Carlos Jones, 26, and Ravindra Basdeo, 29. Basdeo rolled down the window and the gunman told him to open his mouth. The
shooter laughed, placed the gun in the victim's mouth and shot him. The shooter then walked over to victim Carlos Jones, who was exiting the store
with a bag of groceries, and ordered him to the ground, where the gunman placed

Robin Zimmerman charged in attacks of University of Chicago students A 28-year-old woman is in custody accused of attacking and robbing University of Chicago students.
Robin Zimmerman is charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery. She was arrested after a witness gave police a denoscription of her car.
The university says three female students were robbed. Two were walking when police say Zimmerman left a car, hit both victims with a club, stole a purse, and then drove away. One victim is hospitalized for injuries. - (Brewski) - (crime)

Prosecutor To Seek Death Penalty In "Precious Doe" Beheading Case A Missouri prosecutor will seek the death penalty against Harrell Johnson, who is charged with beheading his 3-year-old stepdaughter. Johnson had originally been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Erica Michelle Green, who was known for four years as Precious Doe.
But that charge was upgraded to first-degree murder, opening the door for the death penalty.
Johnson and his wife, Michelle M. Johnson were arrested when Kansas City police followed up on a tip from a family member linking them to Erica's death.
Erica was almost four when her body was found in a Kansas City park in 2001. Her head was discovered in a trash bag nearby. |
Suspect in triple slaying got out of prison in October * Suspect Arrested In Thanksgiving Triple-Homicide Case A suspect in a triple murder at a Birmingham motel that killed a Texas truck driver had been released from an Alabama prison a month and a half before the shooting.
Brandon Deon Mitchell had served almost three years in prison when he was released October 11th. Mitchell was one two suspects who gunned down a front desk clerk and two guests during a robbery at the Airport Inn on Thanksgiving.
One of the victims was 42-year-old John Aylesworth, a truck driver and former Marine from Sulphur Springs. He was buried Thursday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
His widow told The Birmingham News that the suspect -- quote -- "needs to die" for what happened to her husband.
Daphne Aylesworth was left with four children, ages 10 months to 7 years. Candye Olney's daughter, Kim, was working the desk at the Airport Inn
Thanksgiving afternoon when at least two gunmen walked in demanding money. Kim,
along with two out-of-state customers, were shot dead in the lobby. Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Jack Parker identified the dead as front-desk
clerk Kim Olney, 28, of Birmingham; Dorothy Smith, 58, of Flushing, N.Y.; and a
42-year-old truck driver, John Franklin Aylesworth, of Sulphur Springs, Texas. All three were shot in the head. - (War Eagle) - (crime) |
DNA leads to suspect for rape, 2 murders - Convict pleads guilty to two murders A 23-year-old prison inmate linked by DNA evidence to two long unsolved Albany killings and a rape has pleaded guilty to murder charges.
Raymon McGill, formerly of Schenectady, faces 40 years to life behind bars.
He admitted Saturday in Albany County Court to fatally stabbing Martha Montalvo, a 50-year-old state worker, in her home five years ago.
He also admitted to murder in the shooting death of 69-year-old George Young in 2004 during a robbery at Young's home.

Feral black raped a 19-year-old woman in an 'upscale' (White) neigborhood  Police in Oakland, CA are looking for a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman Monday night.
The incident happened just before 8 p.m. on Monday when the suspect confronted the victim in the 5900 block of Ocean View Drive and threatened her with a mallet before sexually assaulting her. The suspect, who police describe as a black man in his 20s, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, is considered armed and dangerous. Sports: Former Purdue footballer from Chicago area charged in violent attacks on coeds A former football player at Purdue University has been charged with attacking and severely beating a woman on campus. Police say he is also suspected of a second campus attack. Kyle Williams was a linebacker for the Boilermakers. He
quit the team last month Police say Williams was charged after a police dog helped lead them to the suspect. It was Tuesday night when Williams allegedly grabbed the student as she
was walking to a dorm. The student fell to the ground, and police say Williams
punched her several times in the face and ran from the scene. Authorities are also looking into whether Williams was involved in a similar
attack 90 minutes earlier that evening when another female student was beaten
and left unconscious. Williams was taken into custody later Tuesday evening when a campus police
officer said he spotted Williams, with blood stains on his clothes and hands,

Low-down homo-pedophile pervert child molester arrested A registered lifetime sex offender is under arrest for the long term sexual assault of a young boy.
A release from the Evansville Police Department says that on Thursday, a 13-year-old boy reported to Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation officials that he had been sexually assaulted by 43-year-old Robert Carl Mhoon. The victim says the molestation first began when he was five years old, and started again in October of 2005. The investigation also revealed that Mhoon also made the victim perform sex acts with a seven year old child while Mhoon watched.

Police in Titusville, Fla., fanned out across the city Monday and arrested several people accused of posing as Hurricane Katrina victims and stealing thousands of dollars of money meant for storm victims. The group members allegedly had false New Orleans identification cards and used
them in the scam.
Titusville police were also searching for an armed and dangerous man who was apparently seen with the group -- Darrius Glenn.
