UK: White victim of black gang forced to relive racist black gang-rape degradation   As soon as Sophie walked past the huddle of youths loitering on the pavement, she sensed that getting off a night bus at Brixton, south London, had been a desperately bad move. As pretty, confident 16-year-olds, the girls were used to attracting attention from male admirers. They had barely reached the other side when Sophie's worst fears were realised. Surrounded by the gang, they were robbed of their jewellery and money, dragged into an alleyway and bundled into separate underground garages on the Stockwell Park Estate. That was the beginning of a two-hour ordeal during which the girls were stripped almost naked, forced to engage in oral sex and raped, between them, 45 times at knifepoint. The gang members argued about who was going to go first and gave running commentaries on what they were doing. Occasionally they lit matches so that they could see the girls' petrified faces. At times, Sophie believed she was going to die. But that sense of detachment changed last week when she received a telephone call from her mother telling her that the July 7 survivor campaigning for better compensation for victims was one of the men who savagely raped her and her friend 20 years ago. Black Convicted On DNA Evidence For 1973 Rape of White Woman Is Sentenced  A man who was convicted after DNA identified him as the rapist in a 32-year-old case was sentenced to up to 46 years in prison for what the judge called a "brutal and heinous crime."
Fletcher Anderson Worrell, 58, received the maximum 8 1/3 to 25 years for first-degree rape, and seven to 21 years for first-degree robbery, with the sentences to run consecutively.
Worrell was convicted Nov. 9 for the June 26, 1973, attack on Kathleen Ham during an invasion of her Chelsea apartment.
Ham, who is now 58 and a lawyer, lives in California. She took the stand during the trial and recalled the attack in chilling detail.

| One of Zimbabwe's last remaining white farmers was strangled and burned to death in an attack inside his home yesterday Don Stewart, 68, was set upon shortly before dawn in the bedroom of his tightly-guarded homestead near Norton, 25 miles west of Harare. He was one of the last 300 white farmers left in Zimbabwe. There were 4,000 five years ago. Police insisted that Mr Stewart's murder was the work of common criminals and had "no political motive". Nothing besides a hunting rifle was stolen. His assailants were unable to penetrate the barred windows and reinforced doors of his homestead on Ingwerati dairy farm. Instead, they entered through the roof and strangled Mr Stewart in his bed. Then they covered him with a mattress, doused it in petrol and set him alight. Mr Stewart, who was born in Zimbabwe, lived alone. South Africa: Navy officer on 34 rape charges * Sailor on 34 charges of rape Cape Town - A 33-year-old naval officer, accused on 34 charges of rape, appeared in Wynberg magistrate's court in Cape Town on Monday, SABC news reported. Police expected even more charges to be brought against the seaman, said to be the Western Cape's worst serial rapist. The victims' ages ranged from 15 to 42. Devil worshipper Rodriguez Accused of Kidnapping Children for Demonic Ritual CHICAGO -- An 18-year-old Chicago man was arrested after allegedly kidnapping two young children to perform a demonic ritual intended to get back his former girlfriend, authorities said.
David Rodriguez was being held on $500,000 bond. Prosecutors said he and a 15-year-old companion snatched the children Friday outside a South Side library and planned to carve a pentagram in the girl's chest. Julian Rodriguez said his grandson has medical problems, and admitted that he

UK: Somali arrested in policewoman shooting case   Police hunting the killers of Pc Sharon Beshenivsky, who was shot dead during a robbery in Bradford last Friday, have arrested a 19-year-old man.
Yusuf Jama - one of three men named as suspects earlier this week - was arrested in Birmingham, police said. He was arrested after police were called to a house in the Saltley area on an unrelated matter. The other men, Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah, 24, and Mr Jama's 25-year-old brother, Mustaf, are still at large, they say.

Sketch released in University of Delaware coed abduction tries Newark police released a composite sketch Monday of the man who attempted to abduct two University of Delaware students, but they still have not identified a suspect.
The two women, one 19, the other 20, were approached separately by the attacker, who was driving a tan or gold Isuzu Trooper SUV, about 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police said the students were walking alone, one at a parking lot near the first block of N. Former Death Row Inmate Arrested On Drug Charges In Caseyville He was on death row for murder then exonerated nearly a decade later. Now a Chicago man is back behind bars after a crime in the metro east. Police were soon knocking on the door when Verneal Jimerson answered. Officers reportedly found marijuana and crack cocaine packaged to sell. There was also a loaded .38 caliber handgun.
Verneal Jimerson and his wife Angela were arrested following the incident. It wasn't until later police discovered the husband's unusual past.
