Sports: Basketball Coach Charged With Sexually Abusing 14-year-old Baby Sitter NEWARK, Ohio -- Police have charged a basketball coach with the alleged sexual abuse of his teenage baby sitter. Dexter Harris runs a well-known summer basketball camp in Newark. Now he faces
two counts of sexual battery. On Oct. 23, Harris, 36, called a 14-year-old girl to his home to baby-sit.
Once the girl -- who is enrolled in Harris' basketball boot camp -- arrived, investigators said the two engaged in sexual activity.

Sex Offender Landlord Accused Of Another Assault on One of his Female Tenants  COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Michael Davis, a registered sex offender and landlord is behind bars accused of raping a tenant in his building. As county officials were working to evict a man from his home near a school, he
allegedly held a woman at knifepoint and committed another sexual assault. Davis, 39, was living in his home on the city's east side when
he was arrested and charged with rape, kidnapping and felonious assault.
"Where it's alleged he's a landlord and he raped a tenant," said a prosecutor.

Mental patient accused of killing wife in Neeses A recently released mental patient has been accused of stabbing his wife to death at their home.
Police still don’t know what ignited the incident that resulted in the death of the woman.
“Upon officers’ arrival, they found the victim, Glenda Brooks, 53 years old, with what appeared to be a stab wound to the lower abdomen,” Williams said.
“The subject, upon the officers’ entering the home, indicated that he had stabbed his wife for reasons unknown.”

| Parole is granted to black killer of soldier Before dying, Arkansas National Guard Lt. Col. Barney Smith told his mother that he had been shot and robbed by a black man he didn’t know. Arkansas State Police arrested Kirk Otis, then 14, days later after they learned that he had been talking about the crime. After his arrest, Otis confessed to the shooting. News that the Board of Parole had voted 4-2 in favor of parole for Kirk Otis left Smith’s children in “complete and total shock,” said Smith’s 25-yearold son, Sam Smith. “My whole family is pretty down about it. Heriberto Torres Arrested For Slashing Throat Of Pregnant, Ex-Girlfriend - "nearly decapitated"   ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A 33-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder Saturday after his former girlfriend was found with her throat slashed. Police said Michelle Knarr, 22, who was several weeks pregnant, was found by her current boyfriend Friday night in their apartment. Knarr's throat had been slashed and she was nearly decapitated. After an investigation, Knarr's former boyfriend, Heriberto Torres, was taken
into custody and charged with her death.

Jewish Defense League's Krugel killed in federal prison  LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jewish Defense League figure Earl Krugel, convicted in a plot to bomb a California mosque and the office of a U.S. congressman was killed at a federal prison in Arizona, an FBI spokesman said Saturday.
Krugel, 62, was killed in an assault Friday evening at the Federal Correctional Institution in Phoenix, said FBI agent Richard Murray. Krugel's wife, Lola, said FBI investigators told her an inmate had struck her husband on the head from behind with a cement block. Earl Krugel, a former dental assistant from Reseda, and late JDL leader Irv Rubin were arrested in 2001 and charged with conspiring to bomb the King Fahd Mosque in Culver City and a field office of Republican Rep. Arthur Hastings Wise executed for murder of four co-workers * Man who killed four at lawnmower parts plant executed  Arthur Hastings Wise was sentenced to death for killing four workers during a shooting rampage he
planned to coincide with shift change at the R.E Phelon plant, which makes
ignition parts for lawnmowers. All four people killed either had something to do
with Wise getting fired or took jobs he wanted, prosecutors said. Wise is charged in the Sept. 15, 1997, work place slayings of four Phelon plant employees: Sheryl Wood, 27; David Moore, 30; Leonard Filyaw, 30; and Charles Griffeth, 56. In addition, Jerry Corley, John Mucha and Stan Vance were wounded in the shooting spree. Police say the defendant had been fired from the plant two months before the killings for being aggressive with a supervisor. Black Stepfather Of White Boy In Custody Fight Charged With Abuse  JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The stepfather of a 4-year-old at the center of a custody dispute has been arrested in Illinois, charged with domestic battery involving the boy. Evan Scott Johnson spent the first three years of his life with an Atlantic
Beach couple who were trying to adopt him. Late last year, a judge
awarded custody to his biological mother, Amanda Hopkins, and her black husband,
Michael Hopkins.
In January, Evan was taken to live with the Hopkins family in Illinois.
According to police, Michael Hopkins, 26, was arrested Monday they investigated a report of child abuse in the home. Authorities in Illinois said that Hopkins "caused physical harm" to Evan while he disciplined the boy.
