| White UTC Police Officer Claims Discrimination A white former UTC Police officer is suing the state and the University of Tennessee, saying he was the victim of racial discrimination. Sean Shelton, of Cleveland, Tn., filed the suit in Chancery Court. The suit says his supervisor, Corporal Rebecca Tolbert, "often exhibited an undisguised animosity towards white employees." It says she slandered Mr. Shelton, accusing him of racial profiling, racism, alcoholism and misogyny. It says she commented that she "expected him to rape somebody." The suit says Ms. Tolbert once threatened to kill Mr. Shelton. He said he was forced to change to another shift and lost opportunities for overtime. It says another African-American supervisor, who was promoted though he allegedly slept on the job, told Mr. Shelton he was "nothing but a white boy, r*dn*ck ----." - (reader link) |

Rodriguez violated a restraining order when Maritza Rosario found him on her back porch at 12:30 a.m. standing next to her Rottweiler, a 6-year-old female named Precious.
Rodriguez faces trial Oct. 20 on animal cruelty charges brought by the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He was accused of sodomizing the dog last year.

Police hunt for teacher Luis Diaz-Guevara accused of the sexual assault of a child  Luis Diaz-Guevara has a warrant for his arrest. Diaz-Guevara, 31, faces two counts of sex assault on a child.
Police said he was recently employed as a teacher at Valverde Elementary School in Denver.
Police said the suspect also goes by the name Gabriel Diaz. He may have been driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, 4-door that is a silver pickup truck.

Student accuses custodian Jose Alberto Mendiola of sexual assault A La Joya school custodian was behind bars accused of sexually assaulting a student. The victim apparently came forward with the allegations two years after the incident, reporting to police graphic and painful details. Head custodian, Jose Alberto Mendiola, is accused of committing the sex act somewhere on a district campus two years ago. UK: SO SOLID Crew lyrics about gun violence were read at the murder trial of rap star Megaman * Rap star 'told friend to shoot'  Megaman, real name Dwayne Vincent, wrote and sang lines such as: "I burst you until the shells be running out."
The Old Bailey has heard how Vincent, 26, ordered an associate to shoot a rival with the words, "Burst him". Carl Morgan, 24, allegedly fired three bullets into Colin Scarlett, also 24, in the streets of Tooting, after being humiliated in a fight.
Detective Chief Inspector Jeff Brown looked into the lyrics of the band to find gun references.
He told the jury several of the songs on their two albums were credited to Megaman as writer or performer.

"Sharp Dressed Black Man" with Gold Teeth Robs Downtown Bank Fort Worth police are looking for a man they say robbed a Wells Fargo bank downtown . The man walked into the bank while on a cell phone and then
presented a teller with a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the
demand and the man left on foot.
Witnesses described the robber as a black man, 6 feet tall with a muscular or heavy build. The man was wearing a suit with a straw Panama-style hat.
Authorities said the most distinguishing feature about the man were the bottom row of his teeth, which were capped in gold. - (-88-) - (crime) |
Low-down man faces 150 years for sexual and homosexual molestation of three child relatives -- one girl and two boys  A Columbus man has pleaded guilty to molesting three child relatives -- one girl and two boys. Walter Lee McKinnon, 33, faces up to 150 years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of child molesting. McKinnon was arrested at his Columbus mobile home after a family friend inadvertently activated a video player that showed a tape of McKinnon engaged in a sexual act with an 11-year-old female relative. McKinnon allegedly told police that he had engaged in sexual activity with the girl multiple times over four years. Authorities said they believed McKinnon also molested two male relatives -- both under 14 years old. - (Svejk) - (crime) |
