South Africa: Zululand: a cat was microwaved to death in a university residence Durban - Tempers flared at the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Pinetown campus when Inspector Roland Fivaz of the Kloof SPCA wanted to question four individuals labelled as the prime suspects in a case in which a cat was microwaved to death in a university residence. According to Fivaz, a note was left for him that identified the four suspects

Double Murder in Trenton Trenton police say Larry Farmer. has stabbed to death his ex-wife and her mother and has critically wounded the ex-wife's 13-year-old son. We have only her first name -- Andrea. Her mother is 52-year-old Joan Baum.

Suspect told friend of Oceanfront slayings, document says * Homicide victims apparently innocent bystanders to domestic dispute
    The suspect in Saturday’s triple slaying at the Oceanfront confessed to a friend that he killed the 24-year-old mother of his daughter and “shot other people,” according to a court affidavit.
Marcus Valentino Garrett was arguing with the mother of his daughter. They say that's when he began shooting, killing her, Kusa, and another man.
Police identified the dead as ex-girfriend Rachel Scheer, 24, of Virginia Beach; Bryce Bauerband, 26, of Chicago; and David Kusa, 25, of South Carolina. - Brewski) - (Crime) - (black on white) |

Nanny Murder Suspect Ruled Competent For Rape Trial Fla. -- A man accused of killing a South Florida nanny has been found competent to stand trial in the rape of a 14-year-old Coral Springs girl. Jerry Wiggins is accused of raping the 14-year-old months before he allegedly
kidnapped, raped and murdered nanny Monica Rivera-Veldizen. Investigators said DNA from the Charlotte rape matched DNA in the murder of
Rivera-Veldizen. She disappeared from a Boca Raton Publix supermarket on West
Palmetto Park Road Jan. 2, 2004. Her body was found Jan. 5 in bushes a short

Tutoring Firm Plans Increased Supervision After Low-down Teacher's Arrest on sexual abuse charges  Fla. -- A tutoring company will change how it monitors after-school instructors after one was arrested on sexual abuse charges. Todd Walden, supplemental services director for Club Z!, said the company next year plans to have a supervisor onsite at schools. The change is the result of the arrest last month of 29-year-old Daniel Cliatt, who spent hours alone after school with students in a tutoring program at Endeavour Elementary.Daniel Cliatt had been sexually abusing the same 13-year-old boy four times a week - (Forum) - (crime) |

Mom Charged With Not Preventing Rape Of Daughter  Michael Berger, of White Plains, and 19-year-old Gilberto Gonzalez are charged with two counts of rape and a mother is charged with accessory to the rapes. Authorities said the mother brought her 13-year-old daughter and girlfriends to White Plains where they met the two young men in the elevator. Gonzalez took the intoxicated 14-year-old into the bathroom and sexually
assaulted her. Then Berger took the 13-year-old daughter into the hallway and
sexually assaulted her. Police said the mom knew, did nothing about it and was

New Zealand: Sahn Papa and Wirimu Karena accused of pouring glue on caged cats and burning them alive  Wirimu Karena, 17, and Sahn Papa, 18, sawmill worker, are jointly charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal after allegedly burning wild cats trapped in cages. They allegedly poured a container of glue over the trapped cats and made a glue trail from the cats to outside the cages. They then set the glue trail alight and left the cats to burn to death. Outside the court they were hostile and aggressive - mouthing abuse and waving their hands in obscene gestures while Karena spat at a photographer. - (another angry white) |
