Family Asks For Justice In Clayton Murder Case CLAYTON, N.C. -- For the first time, a family involved in a six-year-old murder is talking. They are trying to put a face behind the victim and get the ultimate punishment for Jonathan Jenkins accused of killing Joseph Vestal Jr. "The most important thing to us, I think, is just to know that he didn't die in vain, that justice does get served. That's all anyone would want," said Stella Cates, Vestal's sister. |

"Hispanic" male nurse Jose sexually assaulted a sedated young woman several times MIAMI (AP) - A male nurse sexually assaulted a sedated female patient several times at a Miami hospital, authorities said Wednesday. Jose Augusto Alfonso, 45, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year-old patient at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The woman's identity was not released. "Our victim stated to investigators that he entered her room several times, fondling her breasts and digitally penetrating her -- using his hands or fingers on her," said Detective Joey Giordano of the Miami-Dade County Police Department. |

86-year-old man Accused of Persecuting Jews in WWII TRENTON, N.J. -- The Justice Department has asked a federal court to revoke the U.S. citizenship of a man who allegedly served in a Nazi-sponsored police force during World War II. Michael Bojcun, 86, is accused of joining the Ukrainian Auxiliary Police in 1941, a few months after Nazi Germany occupied the city of Lviv, which was in Poland at the time and is now in Ukraine. |

Migrant Hmong Hunter Slaying Suspect Pleads Not Guilty A man accused of opening fire on hunters who confronted him about trespassing, killing six of them and wounding two others, pleaded not guilty to the shootings.. Chai Soua Vang, 36, of St. Paul, Minn., waived his right to a preliminary hearing and will stand trial on six counts of murder and three of attempted murder. The judge continued bail for Vang, a Hmong immigrant, at $2.5 million. A trial date was tentatively set for Sept. 12. Prosecutors accuse Vang of intentionally killing six hunters and trying to kill Lauren Hesebeck and Terry Willers, all from the Rice Lake area, after Vang was asked to leave some private land in southern Sawyer County where the others were hunting. - (forum) |

Arizona Pastor Arrested, Accused of Molesting Boys in 3 States An Arizona church pastor accused of molesting a Florida boy eight years ago has been arrested, authorities said. Robert A. Enersen, 54, pastor of the First Assembly of God church in Douglas, Ariz., faces three counts of lewd assault on a child and is being held in an Arizona jail without bail after his Monday arrest, a Polk County (Fla.) sheriff's report said. |

Sailor Charged with Abducting, Raping Exotic Dancer Virginia Beach police say Sean Omar Wilmot, a 23-year-old sailor abducted and raped an exotic dancer. The incident happened on Christmas Eve. The victim arrived to dance at the apartment then the suspect, Sean Omar Wilmot, told the victim to strip and then demanded sex. Police say he threatened to kill the victim if she did not comply. The victim was able to contact her agency during the crime, and they called police. After the suspect sexually assaulted the woman, a brief struggle occurred. The victim was able to escape. Officers arrived as the women came out of the apartment screaming for help. Sean Omar Wilmot was charged with rape and abduction. |
Bonanza For Ex-Fannie Mae Chief Franklin Raines, who was forced out as Fannie Mae's chief executive after five years, is due to receive a pension of $1.3 million a year for life, according to an agreement with the mortgage lending giant. Fannie Mae also revealed that Raines has deferred compensation of $8.7 million to be paid out through 2020 and owns more than $5.5 million in the company's stock. But the deal is not done. Federal regulators have asked Fannie Mae to hold off paying any compensation to Raines until they have time to investigate the package and whether it was appropriate for the federally chartered lender to let Raines retire early rather than be dismissed. |

Sports: Hearing in LaSalle Rape Case A LaSalle basketball player is headed to court today for a preliminary hearing, on charges he raped a fellow student last year. Twenty-two-year-old Dzaflo Larkai is accused of raping a member of LaSalle's women's basketball team in her dorm room in April 2003. He is the third LaSalle basketball player charged with rape. Gary Neal and Michael Cleaves are awaiting trial on charges they raped a woman in June. - (more sports) |
