Macon State professor Roger Roots fired for 'racist' past
Roger Roots' past has come back to haunt him. He holds two graduate degrees and is close to completing a third. Roots has published scholarly articles across the country, and his colleagues and mentors agree that he's a brilliant scholar and well-qualified to teach. But it's Roots' past, not his present, that seems to be putting up roadblocks.
Roots said allegations of "racist conduct" had "caused irreparable harm to my career and will cost me many thousands of dollars in damages." Internet searches revealed some past writings attributed to Roger Roots. Several Web sites reprint a document purportedly written by Roots called "Whites and Blacks: 100 Facts (and One Lie)."
