Execution of Black Dominique Green Sparks Controversy Dominique
Green was convicted of gunning down Andrew
Lastrapes Jr. during a $50 robbery outside a Houston convenience store
in October 1992. Green admitted being at the store at the time of the murder,
but maintained he was not the gunman. Dominique Green gasped slightly a
couple of times as the lethal drugs took effect and was pronounced dead nine minutes
later. The execution was opposed by relatives of the man Green was convicted of
killing and by Desmond Tutu and the Roman Catholic bishop of Galveston-Houston.

Allegedly Fondles Woman Under Hypnosis A
pastor was allegedly caught on tape by a woman who suspected he was fondling her
during home counseling sessions. The Rev. Charles Brown, of Potter's
House Ministries, was arrested for an alleged incident at a 28-year-old woman's
apartment. The woman told police that Brown used hypnosis during some of their
meetings. She set up a video camera to record one session and the tape shows Brown
kissing and fondling her while she is apparently in an altered state, according
to police. Brown's resignation has been requested. - (Gman) |
Police
call Chester D. Turner, 37, the city's most prolific killer, rapist and strangler They
allege Chester D. Turner accosted most of his victims in South Los Angeles,
raped and strangled them, then dumped their bodies. The 10
women were killed between 1987 and 1998, authorities said. Their slayings
remained unsolved until the Poice Department's cold case homicide unit began looking
into them. Besides the 10 slayings, police believe Turner may be connected to

Identify Hispanic Suspect Geraldo Gutierrez Barilla In Silver Spring Homicide Montgomery
County police say a suspect has been identified in connection with the death of
a 39-year-old woman who was shot
in the head while waiting for a bus. Police say they are looking for Geraldo
Gutierrez Barilla, who's believed to be 55 to 60 years old. They say he's
a Hispanic male, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 160
pounds with short black hair. He was initially identified only as Geraldo Gutierrez.

Search for Two Black I-20 Shooting Suspects  Investigators
with the Richland County Sheriff's Department are looking for two people who shot
and killed a Columbia mother and injured her three-year-old son on October 17th
on Interstate 20 in Richland County. Twenty-year-old Stephanie
Dover died in the shooting that happened in the early morning hours
of Sunday, Oct. 17th. Her three-year-old son
was shot in the leg but survived. Another
child and Dover's fiance, Gene Derrick, were not injured -
(only severally traumatized). Investigators believe the suspect vehicle
is a dark colored Chevrolet or GMC step-side short bed pick-up truck. The driver
is a black male, with a possible small afro. The passenger is described
as a black male, 20-25 years of age, with short hair. - (Tyrone

urges death penalty for black for rape, murder of 14-year-old white girl  SAN
DIEGO - A man "crossed the line" and deserves the death penalty for
kidnapping, raping and killing a 14-year-old
girl in 1986, a prosecutor said. George Williams Jr.,
49, was convicted of first-degree murder, rape, kidnapping and special circumstance
allegations that the murder of Rickie Blake
happened during a rape and kidnapping. Her body was found the next
day, along the side of the road near a freeway offramp. "He is simply a pedophile,"
Dusek told the jury. "That's the way he's wired. Because he likes kids. He
likes sex with little kids. That's what he enjoys." Dusek told the jurors they could consider past criminal conduct by Williams, including the 1981 rape of a 15-year-old girl which the defendant got away with; the 1984 molestation of his 6-year-old daughter to which he pleaded guilty; the 1985 rape of a 20-year-old woman in Oakland that he got away with; the rape of a 24-year-old woman and the rape of her 6-year-old daughter one week after he killed Blake; and the sodomizing of a 13-year-old male family member after the defendant got out of prison in 1998. Child Rape, Sodomy Suspect Pleads Not Guilty Keith
Knuckles pleaded not guilty to child rape and sodomy charges. He's also being
questioned about the death of his 5-year-old daughter. She was found inside the
family's home by police looking to arrest Knuckles. For nearly a month, investigators
were unable to locate Knuckles to arrest him. When they went to his home, he wasn't
there, but police found his 5-year-old daughter
lying dead in her bed. An autopsy revealed that she'd likely been dead
more than 24 hours. |

-- An illegal alien was convicted of raping
four women and a 14-year-old girl -- the daughter of one of the victims
-- in attacks near Rutgers University. Ricardo Cepates was convicted of
26 counts of kidnapping, rape and robbery. Police used DNA evidence to link him
to the five rapes. The victims testified that they were grabbed and threatened
with a knife or, in one case, a broken beer bottle, while walking in a working-class
neighborhood near the Rutgers campus. Two of the victims were Rutgers students,
one of whom said she was savagely beaten and suffered a broken jaw and cheekbone.
