Prosecutor
urges death penalty for black for rape, murder of 14-year-old white girl  SAN
DIEGO - A man "crossed the line" and deserves the death penalty for
kidnapping, raping and killing a 14-year-old
girl in 1986, a prosecutor said. George Williams Jr.,
49, was convicted of first-degree murder, rape, kidnapping and special circumstance
allegations that the murder of Rickie Blake
happened during a rape and kidnapping. Her body was found the next
day, along the side of the road near a freeway offramp. "He is simply a pedophile,"
Dusek told the jury. "That's the way he's wired. Because he likes kids. He
likes sex with little kids. That's what he enjoys." Dusek told the jurors they could consider past criminal conduct by Williams, including the 1981 rape of a 15-year-old girl which the defendant got away with; the 1984 molestation of his 6-year-old daughter to which he pleaded guilty; the 1985 rape of a 20-year-old woman in Oakland that he got away with; the rape of a 24-year-old woman and the rape of her 6-year-old daughter one week after he killed Blake; and the sodomizing of a 13-year-old male family member after the defendant got out of prison in 1998. Child Rape, Sodomy Suspect Pleads Not Guilty Keith
Knuckles pleaded not guilty to child rape and sodomy charges. He's also being
questioned about the death of his 5-year-old daughter. She was found inside the
family's home by police looking to arrest Knuckles. For nearly a month, investigators
were unable to locate Knuckles to arrest him. When they went to his home, he wasn't
there, but police found his 5-year-old daughter
lying dead in her bed. An autopsy revealed that she'd likely been dead
more than 24 hours. |

"Bike path rapist" accused of kidnap-rape of 16-year-old girl on her
way to school An
alleged abduction in September led investigators to a man who now stands accused
of raping a 16-year-old girl twice.
Roger S. Black allegedly raped the girl as she was walking to Newark High
School. "He grabbed her and forced her to the bike path." Later on Sept.
15, another woman was abducted in a strikingly similar manner. A suspect snuck
up behind a woman on the bike path and grabbed her, asking her to go with him.
When the woman said no, the man pulled out a knife, grabbed her and tried to pull
her into the woods. |

Analysis Links Inmate to 12 Slayings  The
victims were all women, their bodies found mostly in one South L.A. swath. The
accused is serving time in state prison for rape. A onetime pizza deliveryman
now in prison for rape is suspected of being one of the most prolific serial killers
in Los Angeles history after police used DNA to link him to the slayings
of 12 women over more than a decade. LA police allege that Chester
Dwayne Turner, 37, preyed mostly on women he encountered in South-Central
L.A., raping and strangling them, then dumping their bodies. -

Second
jury "dreadlocks" in case of rape of UCLA coed by three black 'youths'
on field trip to campus
A second jury has deadlocked in the case of a 19-year-old man charged with
raping a U-C-L-A student in her dormitory room. The judge declared
a mistrial today after the panelists said they could not reach a verdict in the
case of Deshawn Stringer. The first jury deadlocked in May on the rape
charge against Stringer. In that trial, Stringer was convicted on a separate misdemeanor
charge of sexual battery involving a different U-C-L-A student. "The three
contended the woman invited them into her dorm room and initiated the sexual encounters."

Cuban
migrant factory gunman Pelayo Errasti is charged with assault - "was
hearing voices" The
man had been fired from Beltservice Corp. and said he had planned to kill his
former boss at the conveyor manufacturing plant. A former worker with a grudge
walked into a carrying a shotgun. Pelayo Errasti shot at - but missed -
the man he said he wanted to kill and wounded someone else by accident, police
said. The gunman held off tactical officers by putting his weapon to his head
and telling them he was hearing voices. Immigration officials did not return

migrant Driver Sentenced in Va. Dragging Death of Ethiopian migrant visiting from
Canada  FAIRFAX,
Va. -- A driver who ran over a man on an interstate highway and dragged him nine
miles to his death was sentenced to just over a year in prison. Josuel Galdino
cried throughout the hearing and told the judge he would trade his life if it
would bring his victim back. Galdino hit Fitsum
Gebreegziabher, who had left his car to check on a flat tire when he
was struck. His body was caught in the front suspension of Galdino's vehicle and

Campos Salazar charged with forcible rape, committing a lewd act on a child and committing an act of unlawful sexual intercourse. He is also facing the special allegation of inflicting great bodily injury because of the pregnancy. If convicted of all charges, Salazar faces 11 years in prison. Salazar was arrested two days after the girl gave birth to a baby girl in San Jose via an emergency Caesarian section. The girl claimed not to know she was pregnant and had complained of abdominal pains. She was 30 weeks pregnant and the pains were identified as labor. Romero charged by police with armed kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl from playground
Released due to clerical error - he's now charged with rape of 18-year-old woman after his release Romero was arrested in Charlotte County. Investigators said he met the young woman at a bus stop and offered her a ride, then sexually assaulted her. She escaped when his car ran out of gas and she fled to a convenience store. In the earlier kidnapping arrest, Romero was accused of approaching a girl in the swings at Bonita Elementary School. Romero, armed with a box cutter, stopped her as the tried to flee on her bike, but let her go when she cried hysterically. |

origin student arrested for murder of White college coed in South Africa  JOHANNESBURG:
An Indian origin student has been arrested in Johannesburg for allegedly kidnapping
and murdering the daughter of a White businessman.
Donovan Samuel Moodley was arrested and appeared in court in
connection with the kidnapping and murder of
Leigh Matthews. Both Moodley and Matthews were students at a private
University in the suburbs. Moodley has been charged with murder, kidnapping, robbery
and extortion. Moodley, who lives with his parents allegedly attempted to extort
more than R 300,000 from the Matthews family after holding their daughter to ransom.
Despite the father paying him about Rs 30,000, without the knowledge of the police,
Moodley allegedly went ahead and murdered the young girl. -

years ago.The grand jury charges Ignatious Kane did engage in sexual intercourse

Simon, the German who discovered "Oetzi", an intact Bronze
Age mummy in an Alps glacier, has been found dead in the Austrian Alps. A hunter
found his remains in a stream just as rescuers were planning to suspend their
search eight days after he went missing while on a hike. The body of the 67-year-old
was found on a peak called Gaiskarkogel, near a resort town south of Salzburg,
Austria. Simon and his wife Erika found the mummy of the prehistoric man in 1991.

lawyer for defrocked priest Paul Shanley asked a judge Wednesday to dismiss
rape and indecent assault charges against his client after one of his accusers
failed to appear in court. The alleged victim, now 35, says Shanley molested
him when he was a child, but he did not remember the abuse until about
three years ago, when the clergy abuse scandal first broke in Boston.
