ROUGE, La. -- A mental health expert has found Louisiana serial killings suspect
Derrick Todd Lee to be mentally retarded, a lawyer said Tuesday in a new
twist that could be used to try to spare Lee a possible death penalty. Public
defender Mike Mitchell made the announcement as jury selection continued for Lee's
first-degree murder trial in the beating and stabbing death of 22-year-old Charlotte

JOSE – A day laborer was legally sane when he kidnapped and raped a 9-year-old
girl who was held captive for days before he let her go, a jury decided Tuesday.
The same jury convicted David Montiel Cruz last week on all 10 felony charges
in the brazen June 2003 assault. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 115 years

with attempted rape and aggravated assault. Means is described as a 24-year-old
man, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 195 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. -

are now acknowledging they may have a serial rapist on their hands. Police
said Monday that at least four rapes in Savannah - including at least two on the
southside - are likely the result of one man. The suspect is described as a
black male, in his mid-to-late twenties, between 5'10"-6'2', weighing

Made In Execution-Style Triple Murder Bodies Found In House Near Ohio State University     COLUMBUS,
Ohio -- An arrest was made Saturday in the execution-style murder of three people
whose bodies were found in a house near the Ohio State University campus last
year. Columbus police announced that SWAT teams raided a home and arrested Vernon
L. Spence, 30, of Columbus. Spence was charged with three counts of aggravated
murder. Spence was allegedly connected to the shooting deaths through evidence
recovered at the scene and other information. Two other people were arrested along
with Spence on federal charges, but they have not been charged in connection with
the murders. Investigators believe Ohio State student Kayla Hurst, 21, and Aaron Grexa, 23, and Erik Hlass, 22, were shot sometime during the night of July 22, 2003, or early the next morning. - (Border Ruffian) - SLIDESHOW: Images Of Victims |

took a jury less than two hours yesterday to find Daniel
Wesley guilty of being the East End rapist who attacked eight women and
girls. Wesley, 27, stalked the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of East Liberty, Highland
Park and Homewood two years ago. The women and girls he raped or sexually
assaulted ranged in age from 13 to 44. "This was one of the most
brutal series of rapes just because of the sheer numbers." -
