A church leader at the Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fort Washington, Md., is accused of raping and beating a woman in Fairfax, Va.
The Rev. Eugene Marriott was placed on paid administrative leave after his arrest last month.
However, the church took the additional step of suspending his privileges this week after learning details of the alleged attack from a reporter. Court records indicate that the attack happened Jan. 17 after Marriott and the woman left a bar at the Taj Bar and Grill at a Best Western Hotel. The 34-year-old woman alleges that when the pair got inside Marriott's car, he became angry, hit her, forced her to perform an oral sex act, then pulled her from the car and raped her. 
The manager of a Portsmouth restaurant is charged with sexual battery on a teenage employee.
The alleged incident happened on the girl's first day on the job at the Tropical Smoothie. Police came into the store and arrested Ronald Smiley.
Smiley is charged with sexual battery on an employee.

The first case involves a 19-year-old woman who was assaulted about 2:30 a.m. Saturday by a man she knew.
Police say the woman wanted to leave a location but 23-year-old George R. Thomas Jr. of Shreveport would not allow her to leave. Thomas choked her until she lost consciousness.
When the woman awoke, she found she had been tied up and raped. She escaped after her attacker fell asleep.
Thomas was located and arrested without incident. He is charged with one count each of aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping.

A passerby heard her moaning and called 911. She was taken to LSU Hospital in Shreveport with severe head trauma and extensive facial injuries.

DENVER -- Three health care workers have been arrested, accused of stealing from checks and personal information from people who live in retirement homes where they work. The suspects -- Leticia Osei Bonsu, George Oppong, and Raymond Wayoe -- have been charged with theft, conspiracy to commit theft, forgery and criminal impersonation. Bonsu and Oppong, who are in the United States on expired vacation visas from Ghana, West Africa, are being held on immigration holds. Wayoe, who is also known as Jackson Aidoo, is out of jail on bond.

Two pregnant women had a frightening encounter Wednesday. The women were on their way to a baby fair when a man started ramming their car, terrifying them. Police say they don’t know what the set the man off.
The suspect is 50-year-old Earl Boyd.Part of the incident was caught on tape, showing the suspect ramming his SUV into the victims’ SUV. The tape shows that the suspect accelerated so hard that his tires were smoking.
One of the pregnant women, who wished to remain anonymous, said "Screaming, ‘What do you want with us?’ Oh my god, was he going to kill us? It was just scary!"
The second anonymous mother explained, "It was the scariest day of my life! The life of my child, the fact that my husband wasn’t there. My best girlfriend and her child, all four of our lives were in danger. There was nothing we could do except scream and pray." The suspect also reportedly blew kisses at the women and jumped curbs, trying to force the mothers into oncoming traffic. Then, just before police came to the rescue, the suspect started ramming their car. One of the mothers said, "I just hope he is prosecuted to the fullest degree."

DENVER (AP) - Former Washington Redskins running back Timmy Smith, who set a Super Bowl rushing record in 1988, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of conspiring to distribute cocaine. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors are expected to drop eight counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
Smith, 41, and his brother, Chris, were arrested Sept. 30 and charged with possession of 500 grams or more of cocaine with intent to distribute. Police said he sold an undercover officer about 20 ounces of cocaine for $13,600.
