Serial Killer Juan Covington to Spend Life Behind Bars
A man who was videotaped walking up behind a woman in downtown Philadelphia and shooting her dead last year is going to prison for life. "Juan Covington is going to spend the rest of his life behind bars and as a family, knowing that, we're satisfied." Trish McDermott's family has found some measure of peace knowing her killer is forever behind bars. Juan Covington pleaded guilty to killing 48-year-old McDermott last May. The random shooting captured on surveillance tape shook the City. Covington also pleaded guilty to murdering his cousin, Rev. Thomas Devlin in 1998 and fatally shooting 36-year-old Odies Bosket a year ago, near 11th and Ruscomb, that left 43-year-old David Stewart and William Bryant disabled.
