Sports: Navy Quarterback Charged With Rape
 Navy quarterback Lamar Owens has been charged with raping a female midshipman in her dormitory room, the academy announced Wednesday. "These charges are accusations, and Midshipman Owens is presumed innocent until proven otherwise," academy spokesman Cmdr. Rod Gibbons said. Since the alleged attack last month occurred on academy grounds, Owens was charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and the investigation is being handled by the Naval Criminal Investigation Service, Gibbons said. - (more sports) - (Newsroom)

Houston police need your help to catch a group of violent thieves targeting cell phone stores.
HPD robbery investigators say they've hit at least nine stores, mostly on the west and southwest sides.
Police say one suspect left behind a clue big enough to phone home about. He took a picture of himself with a cell phone camera and left it behind. "From what I was told, he walked into the store, picked up the phone, acted like he was gonna buy it, asked a few questions, took a few pictures of himself, set the phone down, and then robbed the place," said Officer Nguyen. Two suspects were also captured by a surveillance camera.
