| "I want to beat up one of these white boys... I'm a racist, and I hate all you white boys" The alleged hate crime attack on a Lewis and Clark High School student came after his attacker said, "I want to beat up one of these white boys," according to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Spokane police. Tyson Leroy Brown, 21, of Spokane was arrested on suspicion of malicious harassment, a Class C felony hate crime. Brown also had an unrelated warrant from Oregon. The 15-year-old White victim was intentionally and maliciously assaulted due to his race, according to the affidavit. The victim is white, and the alleged attacker is black. Brown was arrested a few blocks away. While he was being taken to jail, a police officer said Brown called himself a "racist," according to the affidavit. Negro charged in murder of White woman - Grosse Pointe's first homicide in decades  The man accused of killing Barbara Iske in Grosse Pointe back in June was charged with murder on Friday and is being held without bond.
Police have been searching for the killer since June and now believe they caught the right man, 46-year-old Derrick Anthony Thompson. Iske, an accountant from Sterling Heights, was murdered June 14 as she arrived at the Grosse Pointe home where she worked for an elderly woman. The killer shot Iske at close range and then fled. Three black defendants in brutal Deltona "Xbox" baseball bat slayings will stand trial together       DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (AP) -- The trial of three men charged in the 2004 beating deaths of six people was delayed three months on Friday after defense attorneys asked for more time.
The judge for the trial said that Troy Victorino, Michael Salas and Jerone Hunter, will stand trial April 10 instead of January 3rd.
The men are accused in the deaths of six people and a small dog whose heads were bashed with baseball bats at a house in Deltona.
Investigators say Victorino organized the attack to retrieve an Xbox video game system he lost when he was kicked out of a different house.

Pastor Charged With Raping Teen Girl Church Member  The head of Refuge Temple in Syracuse now faces rape and sodomy charges. A 15 year-old parishioner says he sexually attacked her at his home multiple times from May 2004 until March of this year.
Pastor Jaree Jones has led the Refuge Temple for the past three years. He was active in youth groups and Sunday school. The victim’s parents say their daughter told them the alleged sexual attacks happened after many of these sessions. These same parents say they trusted Jones during tough times, instead of helping they say the 30 year old preyed on their teenage daughter. They say he would pick their daughter up from school without them knowing.
Jones was arrested last week. He posted $2500 bail but failed to show up. Now there is a warrant out for his arrest. - (Brewski) - (crime) |
17-year-old McDonalds parking lot shooting victim's mother speaks out * $2 million bail for shooting suspect  Tampa, Florida - Grief counselors are trying to help students at King High School in Tampa deal with the shooting death of a 12th grader.
17-year-old Dalshon Walton was shot to death Thursday in the parking lot of a McDonalds. Three other teens were injured. Witnesses say the shootings were the result of a fight between students and non-students.
They say the victim was walking away from the McDonald's when he was killed. The shooting happened just after school let out. Tampa police have now arrested 18-year-old Otis Neal and charged him with three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. - (Tyrone N. Butts) - (TNB) - (crime) |
| Black Teen Sentenced for Rape on School Bus A Maple Hill teen accused of raping a girl on a school bus could spend more than four years in prison. Dominique Morman, 17, was sentenced for sexually abusing a mentally handicapped girl on the bus. The two were the only passengers on the school bus ride home from Heide Trask High School. The victim told investigators the school bus driver looked the other way during the incident. That driver has been suspended. Authorities say Morman pleaded guilty in court, and was given a prison term. - (see video at link) |

Aborigine leader warns on welfare  A prominent Aboriginal leader has called for a radical overhaul of Australia's benefits system to help native communities escape from poverty. Noel Pearson has warned that a reliance on state handouts has caused psychological harm in many settlements. Some economists have insisted that Aborigines may have to leave their impoverished homelands to break free of the so-called welfare trap. Teens Charged In Halloween "Trick or Treat" Shooting To Be Tried As Adults * Black Teens To Be Tried As Adults In Halloween     CINCINNATI -- Two teens charged in connection with the Halloween night shooting of a Price Hill man will be tried as adults. Deondre Berryman, 16, is accused of firing two shots into 84-year-old Charles Iles' chest after posing as a trick-or-treater. Police said 17-year-old Terrance Davis and 18-year-old Otis Clark Jr. were accomplices in the crime.

Santa Rosa teen brutally raped by mutant orge as family slept A 15-year-old girl was brutally raped in her northwest Santa Rosa apartment by a stranger who awakened her at knifepoint, forced her into another room and repeatedly assaulted her early Thursday morning while her family slept upstairs, police said.
Her alleged assailant, Kevin Marquice Colter Anthony, 20, of Santa Rosa, was arrested a few hours later after police spotted him in front of the apartment complex. Police said the suspect has a distinctive appearance, including a partially shaved head, a long ponytail, gang tattoos and facial scars. The girl was startled awake in her second-story room by the man standing over

Ellis who just died of undisclosed causes at the age of 78 in Durham, North Carolina. Ellis rated all the ink, in the eyes of blenders at least, because he was once a member of the KKK but switched sides to become a high profile civil rights activist and a friend of female black civil rights advocate Ann Atwater.
