Female Student Alleges Sexual Assault by School ROTC Instructor A Cobb County high school ROTC instructor has been charged with five felony counts in connection with the alleged of sexual assault of one of his female students. The arrest warrant accuses Charles Nelson, 44, of having physical contact with the Pebblebrook High School student at the school's campus in Mableton. |
Sports: Six black Brigham Young University footballers indicted for gang rape B.J. Mathis, Karland Bennett, William Turner Jr. and Ibrahim Rashada are charged with four felonies each — two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count each of obstruction of justice and dealing in material harmful to a minor. Two other football players also face criminal charges — wide receiver Antwaun Harris, who is alleged to have made a false statement to investigators, a second-degree felony, and defensive back Billy Skinner for allegedly dealing in material harmful to a minor. - (Brewski) - (more sports) |
Sports: Former Footballer Mondre Khalid Dickerson accused of rape A former footballer, Mondre Dickerson is facing a rape charge a year after being accused of another rape. He posted a 25-thousand-dollar bond and was freed from jail. The Sheriff's Office was alerted by a hospital of a sexual assault victim. The woman told authorities she met Dickerson at a nightclub. Sports: Former MSU basketballer Brown to enter plea regarding rape of 15-year-old girl Prosecutors filed an affidavit detailing when, where and how former Montana State basketball player Frank Brown allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl. Brown, 20, of Las Vegas, who was suspended is charged with two counts of rape. The age of legal consent in Montana is 16. Brown and the girl watched the movie, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," The girl was passed out drunk the first time Brown allegedly raped her. - (more sports) - (NNN Northwest) |
Killer Sentenced To Life In Prison - Spared Death Penalty A jury recommended a sentence of life in prison for convicted killer Joseph Roach. Roach was eligible for the death penalty, but jurors didn't convict him of the rape and robbery charges he also faced, so his life was spared. Roach killed Renee Robinson in 2002. - (Gman) |

Man May Be Charged in Hmong Home Graffitti Wis. -- A man may face charges he painted the word "killer" on his Hmong neighbors' homes shortly after a Hmong man was arrested in the fatal shootings of six white hunters last month, police said. Police Chief Dennis Beety said Friday that investigators have recommended prosecutors charge the 38-year-old man, who is white, with three counts of vandalism, possibly as a "hate crime". |

Assisted living facility worker indicted for attempted rape of Alzheimer's patient COVINGTON, La. -- An employee at an assisted living facility has been indicted on an attempted rape charge stemming from an alleged attack on an 82-year-old patient. Derrick Garrett, 46, of Folsom, had been booked on a charge of aggravated rape, but prosecutors said physical evidence did not prove rape. A grand jury returned the lesser charge. The alleged attack took place in a bathroom at the facility on Oct. 11. Police said the victim was an Alzheimer's patient. - (Gman) |
Suspected Serial Rapist in Custody Trenton police say they may have caught a serial rapist. 19-year-old Taqualon Finch admitted raping a woman in an alley, two and a half weeks ago. As police investigated that rape, they noticed the details matched three unsolved rapes. And now Finch is a suspect in those crimes. He's now being held on $350,000 bail. - (The Bobster) |

Grenade attack statement ruled admissible A sergeant's admission that he rolled grenades into the tents of sleeping soldiers in Kuwait last year will be admissible when he goes on trial in the attack, a judge ruled at a pretrial hearing for Sgt. Hassan Akbar. The judge also granted Akbar's lawyers a delay in his trial so they could gather more documentation for an insanity defense. Two officers were killed and 14 soldiers wounded in the grenade attack in the early days of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. |
Court Blocks Death for Man Who Killed 13 A day before he was scheduled to die, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Wednesday blocked the execution of a man convicted of killing 13 (mostly white) people in a shooting rampage in 1982. The justices sent the case back to the trial court for a hearing on whether 62-year-old George E. Banks is mentally competent. Banks was convicted of killing five of his children, four current or former girlfriends and four others in Wilkes-Barre. The former prison guard said he wanted to protect his children from the "abuse he suffered as a biracial child". - (Smilin' Jack) Ref: George Emil Banks - "A twisted mind snaps" Living in a predominately white neighborhood and being involved in a series of interracial relationships brought its own share of problems to Banks’ home. Banks claimed that his white neighbors “intimidated the women and called the children African niggers.” His home was once firebombed. |
