International Peacekeepers
AND THEN THEY CAME FOR... by H. Millard (c) 2001

The Reverend Martin Niemöller, a pastor in the German Confessing Church who spent seven years in a concentration camp, wrote a short piece that has come to represent what happens when good, decent people remain silent in the face of tyranny.

Below is an update of Reverend Niemoller's famous lesson. This is relevant now that we're seeing various hate filled witch hunting professional "expert" groups on "racism" and "hatred," expand their smears so they can raise more funds to feather their personal nests.

In order to raise money, these groups NEED enemies, and they're not above manufacturing them with smears. One individual with links to these groups went to such lengths to smear Pat Buchanan when he was running for president, that this individual even parsed the pauses that Mr. Buchanan would make while speaking. Naturally, this guy found anti-Semitism and racism in the pauses. I'm not kidding! In fact, it was partly because of this guy that I wrote a tongue in cheek column about Nazi Lobsters, and how it was clear that Buchanan was a Nazi because he once walked past some lobsters in Maine. Don't see the connection? Hitler liked lobster. Now it's clear, right?

At any rate, that's the type of evil that's going on in this country right now where free thinking and free speech are under attack from some really evil haters and tyrants who are using cries of "racist," "hate" and similar terms to make people stop speaking out on important public issues.

Recently, we've seen these attacks expand to include various religious leaders and also immigration reform groups and others who believe in genuine free thought and free speech. And, regardless of the substance of the thoughts and speech that are under attack, this area of free thought and free speech is where the battle lies.

People aren't being attacked directly by the tyrants for who they are, but for their beliefs, their thoughts, their convictions and their speech. This is just plain wrong and denies to humans the most uniquely human characteristics--the ability to think higher thoughts, and the need to express them to others. To deny humans the right to their thoughts and the right to express them, would be similar to denying birds the right to fly.

And, it doesn't really matter that some of these haters aren't officially part of the government (although some claim that they have close working relationships with government). Many of the witch hunters in 1690's Salem, weren't part of the government either; and their tactics were very similar to the present day witch hunters, who attempt to whip up public hysteria against those that the real haters--our present day witch hunters--don't like.

Here's the update:

In the year 2001 they first came for the non-Jewish white people in Europe who know they're white and who believed in free thought and free speech, and they called them haters to justify their tyranny. And I didn't speak up because I wasn't in Europe, and I wasn't a hater.

Then they came for the non-Jewish white people in Canada who know they're white and who believed in free thought and free speech, and they called them haters to justify their tyranny. And I didn't speak up because I wasn't in Canada, and I wasn't a hater.

Then they came for the non-Jewish white people in the United States who know they're white and who believed in free thought and free speech, and they called them haters to justify their actions. And I didn't speak up because I wasn't a hater.

and who believed in free thought and free speech, and who are immigration reformers, and they called them haters to justify their tyranny. And many didn't speak up because they weren't non-Jewish white people.

Then they came for the Jewish and non-white people in the United States who know they're Jewish and non-white and who believed in free thought and free speech, who are immigration reformers, and they called them haters to justify their tyranny. And by that time there was no one left to speak up.

The point of all this, is that all good, decent people need to speak up against the tyrants and not let them pick off any individuals or groups who are exercising their free thought and free speech rights, because eventually these tyrants will get around to others whose free thinking and free speech aren't on the approved thoughts and speech lists of the tyrants.

It's time to drive these hate filled bigoted tyrants out from under their rocks where they live with the other loathsome creatures, and let people see what these professional hate hunters are really about. The way to start doing this is to stop playing by their rules. Don't let them intimidate you with their cries of "racism," and "hatred" and don't spend all your time trying to deny these usually bogus charges.

Once you start spending your time on defense, you've let yourself be neutered, and then you'll forever be censoring your own thoughts and words to the point where you become intellectually constipated and as fearful as a little mouse. Just say no to the haters and the bigots!
