(BLACK) Man accused of fatally shooting (WHITE) owner of Orlando towing company to remain jailed ORLANDO, Fla. - The 53-year-old owner of a towing company was fatally shot Tuesday at his downtown business after he was confronted by the 35-year-old owner of an impounded car. Tremain Polk, of Winter Garden, shot Paul Gren shortly before 6 p.m. at the Tow Truck Co. Gunfire could be heard over the phone as an employee called 911 to report that an irate customer was trying to retrieve his vehicle from the tow yard without paying. The worker said Polk had $135, but when she told him the bill would be $285, he became upset and tried to push open a door to a secured office. Polk left when the worker threatened to call police, but while she was helping another customer, she saw Polk's car being driven toward a gate, so she and Gren ran outside. "Polk exited his vehicle and unsuccessfully attempted to open the bay door manually." The employee positioned herself between Polk and the button to open the gate, and he came toward her aggressively, so she pushed him back. Gren produced a gun, held it by his side and told Polk to wait for police, but he said he wanted to leave, so an employee opened a door to let him out. Polk took two steps, turned toward Gren, drew a gun from his waistband and shot Gren three times from point-blank range. - (Black-on-white) |

Black Sex offender arraigned for brutal sex attack on German woman tourist in Harlem A serial sex predator was arraigned Friday for the vicious beating and attempted rape of a German tourist — as well as an earlier assault on another woman. “Both cases involve similar facts with egregious violence,” said Assistant District Attorney Erin Reid of defendant Keon Robinson, 28. The sadistic fiend allegedly approached the 31-year-old tourist May 4 at about 2:50 a.m. on West 146th Street near Frederick Douglas Boulevard. He put her in a chokehold, threatened her with a gun and demanded her purse. When she resisted, he punched her repeatedly in the face, knocked her unconscious and snatched her bag, papers state. The horrific attack, which is captured on surveillance video, shows Robinson hike up her dress, remove her tights and underwear and molest her, the complaint says. After regaining consciousness, “the defendant punches her at least five more times, until she stops moving” and then continued to violate her, court papers allege. After the sick assault, he left the victim passed out on the ground “with her vagina exposed,” said the prosecutor. The young woman, who suffered a broken tooth and two black eyes, was returning to her Airbnb rental when she was attacked. Robinson — a level three sex offender — was also arraigned for the April 24 robbery and assault of a stranger in Harlem and is the prime suspect in another rape case, Reid told Judge Tamiko Amaker. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Thief Steals Breast Pump Bag from (White) Little Rock Mom's Car LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Some say a criminal will steal anything. One recent theft in the Stifft Station area of Little Rock is evidence. Kadi Lindsey reported an auto B/E on her car behind her Pearl Ave. home to Little Rock Police on April 25. Whoever ransacked her car stole her breast pump bag. It had other valuables as well including cash, glasses, and prescription medication. A neighbor captured the person they believe is responsible going through another car the same night. The bag isn't cheap. It's called a Nurse Purse and runs about $130. Lindsey doesn't use the bag to feed just her child either. She actually gives a lot of her milk away. "I don't know why I was so upset when my bag was stolen. I mean I cried all morning," she said. "Maybe somebody will recognize him by seeing the pictures." She does think she happened to leave her car unlocked that night but worries someone's going up and down the streets in her neighborhood every night pulling on car handles. If you happen to know anything about this give LRPD a call. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Man convicted in 1985 murder of (White) LAPD detective granted parole, outraging police union A state review board has granted parole to the man who planned the assassination of a Los Angeles police detective more than 30 years ago in front of his 6-year-old son in the San Fernando Valley, prompting outrage from law enforcement. Voltaire Williams was one of six men connected to the ambush killing of Detective Thomas C. Williams — no relation — in a hail of machine gun fire in front of a Canoga Park church school on Halloween 1985. He was convicted in 1989 of conspiracy in the plot to kill the 42-year-old detective and acquitted of a first-degree murder charge. The board’s action brought a swift rebuke Wednesday from the union that represents Los Angeles police. “It is outrageous that the Parole Board has once again granted parole to Voltaire Williams who helped orchestrate the murder of LAPD Detective Thomas Williams in front of his son,” according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Protective League. “Detective Williams was assassinated because he did his job. The Parole Board’s decision is an affront to every peace officer who risks their lives to protect others on a daily basis.” - (Black-on-white) |

Iowa: Black-hispanic assassinated White deputy and wounded another during escape from transport from court back to jail Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker rushed to the jail’s secure inmate entrance Monday morning to see two of his men wounded on the floor. It had been breached from the inside. He found two deputies shot — one of them died soon after. Danker watched as the deputies received first aid from jail nurses and medics. He saw a broken garage door, busted by the van used to transport inmates. He saw blood. “It’s just a shocking scene to walk into,” Danker said just a few hours later. A whirlwind pursuit of an escaped inmate across state lines on Monday morning that lasted less than 30 minutes ended with the man being captured, but heartbreak for the slain deputy’s family and the law enforcement family. Mark Burbridge, 43, a 12-year veteran, died roughly an hour after he was shot. Danker said the loss of Burbridge was something that law enforcement officers hope they never have to experience. “We lost one officer today,” Danker said. “Excellent man. We’re going to miss him.” Burbridge had worked on road patrol, investigations and, most recently, court security. “(He) always was happy, jovial,” Danker said. “He was a good deputy.” Another deputy, Pat Morgan, 59, a 10-year department veteran, also was injured in the shooting, which occurred about 10:55 a.m. Morgan was shot in the lower torso, an injury that officials said was not life-threatening. The shooting occurred after the two deputies drove inmate Wesley Correa-Carmenaty, 24, back to jail from the courthouse. Correa-Carmenaty had just been sentenced as part of a plea deal to 45 years in prison with no possibility of parole for 29½ years, for voluntary manslaughter in the 2016 killing of Anthony J. Walker. In court, he had acted cold and spoke flatly, according to Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber. Speaking through a Spanish translator, Correa-Carmenaty directed his words toward his victim’s family: “He died because he was an idiot.” The victim’s mother fled from the room in tears. - (Black-on-white) |

She pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance. Felton's attorney said there was an issue with the signs on the roadway when the incident happened. The crash occurred on westbound East 8th Street back on March 3. Felton was operating a 2007 Honda CRV and attempting to turn left onto Sycamore Street when she changed lanes and was hit by another vehicle, police wrote in a criminal complaint. Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson announced Monday afternoon the suspects — Tiyoune L. Hoskins, 19, and Ty Milik Dwayne Williams, 18 — were identified with the help of the Anderson (Ind.)
