Detective testifies that accused cop-shooter let off ‘rapid fire’ An NYPD cop who led the charge into a barricaded Sheepshead Bay apartment in 2012 took the stand in the alleged shooter’s attempted-murder trial Monday to give the first full denoscription of his actions. “The girlfriend walked slowly towards the door, cradling her little guy,” Detective Kenneth Ayala testified, saying that Nakwon Foxworth opened fire before his girlfriend and baby reached safety. “As she was walking through the threshold, gunfire erupted. I heard the gunfire and through the window in my shield I saw the muzzle flash. Multiple shots — it was rapid fire,” said Ayala, who was hit in the thigh and foot. “With her being right at my side, it was my grave concern that she or the little guy would get hit.” Ayala described how he and his fellow cops charged directly toward the gunfire coming at them. Oklahoma U. Expels Racist Students, But Not Violent Football Players University of Oklahoma President David Boren expelled two students for racist chanting, ostensibly because the school has an unofficial zero tolerance policy on racism. But Boren had plenty of tolerance for OU football players who committed violence against women and were allowed, not merely to remain at the university, but also to rejoin the football team. The Daily Caller News Foundation's Blake Neff notes that last year, (black) freshman Joe Mixon was caught on tape punching a (white) female student in the face. He knocked her unconscious and broke four of her facial bones. He was later convicted of a misdemeanor assault charge. I also believe in second chances, although it's easier for me to grant them to people who merely said insensitive things than it is for me to grant them to perpetrators of violence against women. Boren, it seems, feels differently. Or perhaps star running back Mixon was more deserving of forgiveness because he was a critical part of OU's football program?. - (Black-on-white) |

Septimus Neverson, 52, was arrested last month in Port of Spain, the capital city of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on a request from police in Montreal and Laval after a lengthy investigation by a joint task force connected him to a series of nine home invasions carried out in 2006, in the western part of the Montreal Island and Laval, that had left police puzzled and frustrated for years. Neverson will also be charged with the attempted murder of Frank Dike Nwagbara, a businessman who was shot during a home invasion in LaSalle on July 16, 2006. The first home invasion Nevermore is alleged to have carried out was on May 4, 2006, in a home on a quiet crescent in Baie d’Urfé. Black "piece of scum" who kidnaped, raped and murdered a White woman is given life COLUMBIA, SC - A man who admitted to raping, then killing a Kershaw County woman in 2011 has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Nickolas Miller, 26, pleaded guilty to murder, two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of solicitation to commit a felony and kidnapping. While in court, Miller admitted to abducting 30-year-old Hope Melton, raping her, then beating her to death with a baseball bat. He had nothing to say when given a chance to do so by the judge. Some of Melton's family were outraged and angry at a sheriff who was recently convicted of corruption and severely jeopardized the case. In court, Chanda Roscoe held back tears as she addressed the judge and her sister's killer. Chanda told Miller that he's afraid to die and told the 26-year-old he's a "piece of scum." "I hope that God shows him and gives him the same mercy that he showed my sister, and I hope he gets beat, and I hope he is tormented, and I hope he is mutilated just like he did my sister, because that's what he deserves," Roscoe said. Miller may be behind bars for the rest of his life, but for Melton's family, that's not enough. "I, myself, and my family wanted the death penalty,” Roscoe said. “He deserves to die, and he should die." Hope's mother, Elizabeth, said they were let down to some extent. - (Black-on-white) |

AKA Thailand does the right thing and kicks out African fighter accused of domestic abuse (Graphic images inside) There is no place in the world for abusers. Whether you’re a man or a woman who physically or psychologically abuses people, society doesn’t accept you and, quite frankly, doesn’t want you at all. So one can imagine the disgust that we here at TFN felt when we heard of a story that was close to home, home being our Asian martial arts community. Earlier today, the story of Alannah Mudge hit social media. Alannah very bravely told the story of how she was allegedly abused by her boyfriend Ncedo Gomba who happened to be a promising Muay Thai fighter representing AKA Thailand. Alannah went into great detail of her horrific experiences on her Facebook page (Warning: Graphic images below). - (Black-on-white) |

Only 65 years for (black) Gary man for 'hit' slaying of elderly White man because he fired a black woman from his towing company The Gary man who murdered a Portage tow truck driver in a murder-for-hire scheme received the maximum possible sentence short of the death penalty. On Friday, Porter County Superior Judge Roger Bradford sentenced Dontaye Deandre Singletary, 22, of the 500 block of Pennsylvania Street, to 65 years in prison. Porter County Sheriff's officers then took Singletary to Lake County to face murder charges in another case. Bradford said that the impact that Singletary's absence would have on his children was the only mitigator, but aggravators included victim Carl Griffith Sr., 72, being older than 65, and Singletary having a significant juvenile criminal history. Bradford said Singletary could have faced the death penalty. Griffith's family would have preferred that. The only disappointment is that he didn't get the death penalty so we could watch his last breath," said Greg Griffith, the victim's son and spokesperson for the family. Singletary shot Griffith three times at about 8 p.m. Nov. 1, 2012, outside the victim's house in the 2700 block of Locust Street when Griffith went to get the newspaper. Antoinetta Johnson 34, was murdered in her Gary salon Dec. 13, 2012, in what the prosecution maintained was a hit Singletary ordered. In her police interview, Johnson said she set up the arrangement between Singletary and Sheaurice Major, 44, for $2,500 between Johnson and Singletary. Major wanted Griffith dead because he helped Major's ex-husband get out of prison and fire her from his Affordable Towing company. He's accused with five others of the murder of Franklin Simmons, 61, on Aug. 16. 2010, in the 1300 block of Johnson Street in Gary. - (Black-on-white) |
