Jury Convicts Jailed Negro in Infamous Texas KFC Murders  BRYAN, Texas — A convicted robber already serving a life prison term for perjury was convicted of capital murder Tuesday for the fatal shootings of five people abducted from an East Texas Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant 25 years ago. Darnell Hartsfield, 47, of Tyler, was found guilty on all five counts. He stood between his attorneys and had no visible reaction to the verdicts. He received an automatic life sentence after prosecutors chose not to seek the death penalty. The notorious killings, one of the longest unresolved mass murder cases in Texas, occurred the night of Sept. 23, 1983, when the five victims were taken from the KFC store in Kilgore during an apparent robbery. They were driven about 15 miles to a remote oilfield road and fatally shot. Their bodies were found the next morning. The murder victims were David Maxwell, 20; Mary Tyler, 37; Opie Ann Hughes, 39; Joey Johnson, 20; and Monte Landers, 19. All but Landers worked at the restaurant about 25 miles east of Tyler and 115 miles east of Dallas. Black who killed White policeman was a cold-blooded violent criminal from age 10 In his first encounter with the criminal-justice system in 1991, Daniel Giddings was convicted of beating and robbing a mentally disabled man in his North Philadelphia neighborhood. Giddings was 10 years old. During the next seven years, Giddings was continuously in and out of juvenile institutions, where he was charged several times with assaulting staff, sending some to the hospital, according to court records.Details Released In Murder Of White Philadelphia Officer by feral black  Police said 30-year-old Officer Patrick McDonald was on a solo patrol when he pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. A female driver and 27-year-old Daniel Giddings were inside of the vehicle, Captain James Clark said. When asked for his name, Clark said Giddings provided McDonald with a false identity. The suspect fled on foot when the officer asked him to exit the vehicle. Officer McDonald, an eight-year veteran of the force, called for backup and began pursuit of the suspect, catching up to him on the 2200 block of Colorado Street. During a physical altercation, Clark said Giddings pulled out a .45 caliber handgun and shot Officer McDonald several times. While the officer was on the ground, Giddings stood over him and fired several more rounds, police said. "This was clearly an assassination," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said. Officer McDonald was rushed to Temple University Hospital in a police cruiser and was pronounced dead at 2:08 p.m.  Giddings took a bike found on the street and fled the scene, but was quickly confronted by three responding highway patrol officers. Police said Giddings threw the bike at one officer and then exchanged gunfire with 35-year-old Officer Richard Bowes. Black to appear in court in attempted assassination of White police officer   The man who Omaha police said shot officer Paul Latschar will appear in court Friday. Corey T. Allen, 30, faces attempted first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a weapon by a felon. Allen's criminal history includes 20 separate entries. He has served two state prison terms and one stint in a federal penitentiary. Meanwhile, surgeons said Latschar's condition continues to improve. The eight-year veteran was sitting up and talking Thursday. Creighton University surgeons narrowly saved Latschar's life after a gang member shot him multiple times Wednesday night. Black murders two little White girls 4 and 5 years old - flees from scene   The man accused of killing two young girls on Friday is now behind bars after police worked through the night to make an arrest. A four and five year old and one of their mothers were walking near the University of Louisville when they were struck by a car and left for dead. It took police less than three hours to track down the man they say was behind the wheel when a car struck 4-year-old Riley Lawrence and 5-year-old Claudia Wadlington, killing them, and injuring one of the victim’s mothers. Black confesses to murder of White woman - burning her body   Carl Williams of Port Arthur may end up in prison for the rest of his life -- after "suddenly" entering a guilty plea this morning. Williams made the plea after jury selection had begun. Prosecutors contend Williams killed 41 year old Hope Willey and then set her body on fire after dumping her by the side of Highway 87. The Hopkins Police Department said the man was arrested Wednesday evening in St. Paul without incident. He was tied to the crime scene by new "soft touch" DNA evidence. Allen Baddour released six warrants that helped police arrest Laurence Lovette, 17, and Demario Atwater, 22. Both are charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Eve Carson, the former student body president at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. One warrant said a confidential informant told police that Lovette and Atwater entered Carson's home through an open door, took her and her vehicle to an ATM, and used her pin to withdraw $1,400 from her bank account. Carson was shot multiple times by Lovette and was later shot by Atwater. Pack of black teens beat homeless White man to death Police continued to search Friday for a group of teenagers who beat a homeless man to death on a street as passersby slowed to watch, Anthony Waters, 42, suffered a lacerated spleen and broken ribs and died at Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center after the attack Wednesday night. The young attackers were described as black teenagers possibly as young as 13 or as old as 18. Stacho estimated their ages at between 15 and 17. Black Thug in attack on white school teacher nailed and linked to six more robberies  The cowardly punk who punched a 62-year-old Catholic school teacher in the face and stole her purse was arrested Friday - and promptly linked to six other robberies, police said. Eric Ferguson, 18, ambushed Patricia McGowan outside the Good Shepherd School in Brooklyn. Surveillance video captured the mugger attacking her from behind and pushing her through a metal gate topped with a cross before running off with her bag. McGowan, who has taught at the school for 43 years, suffered bad bruises on the left side of her face. Her left eye was blackened and bloodshot, and her left cheek was swollen and purple from her eye to her jaw. Black arrested in death of White man, 69 shot in the head in his home   Wilbur Lee West was buried the same afternoon that deputies released the name of the man they charged in his murder. While the arrest of Alphonso Lamont Destin eases some of the concerns in the community and the church that West devoted his life to, many are still angry and frightened that this could happen in Lynch Station. “It doesn’t change the hurt,” said the Rev. Rick Dellinger, of Lynch Station Baptist Church. “It doesn’t change the pain. It’s good, but it doesn’t change anything. We still have questions and wonder why. It’s senseless.” West, 69, was found shot in the head at his home at 281 Leewood Rd. A warrant charges 17-year-old Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr. with first-degree murder in the death of Abhijit Mahato. Mahato, 29, originally of Tatangar, India, was a doctoral student in computational mechanics. He was found shot to death inside his apartment a few blocks south of Duke's campus in January. Lovette and Demario James Atwater, 21, were charged with first-degree murder in the death of Eve Carson. The 22-year-old was found last week lying on a street about a mile from the North Carolina campus in nearby Chapel Hill. Negro sentenced to death for slaughter of White 10-year-old girl and her family   A Tulsa man who was convicted last month of three murders in Owassowas formally sentenced to three death sentences. The Judge set an execution date for Clarence Goode Jr. Jurors found Goode, 31, guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Kayla Burchett, 10, a Collinsville fifth-grader; her mother, Tara Burchett-Thompson, 25; and the slain woman's husband, Mitch Thompson, 28. Their bodies were found Aug. 26, 2005, at the couple's home. The jury imposed a death sentence on each murder count, and Goode received a concurrent 20-year term for first-degree burglary. He has maintained that he is innocent. Co-defendant Kenneth D. Johnson faces a Feb. 19 trial on the same charges. Black Juvenile Serial Killer Remains in Prison   WARWICK, R.I. - They called him Iron Man, a hulking teenage football player with a baby face and winsome smile who lived with his parents in a small ranch house in the Buttonwoods section of town. Then, one summer night in 1987, Craig Price crept across his neighbor's yard, broke into a little brown house on Inez Avenue and stabbed Rebecca Spencer 58 times. She was a 27-year-old mother of two. He was 13. Two years passed before Price struck again. Joan Heaton, 39, was butchered with the kitchen knives she had bought earlier that day. After a search, the Moore County Sheriff's Office took Michael Graham Currie, 18, into custody Monday night. Smiling Black pleads not guilty to running down a white family in McDonald's parking lot - killing 2-year-old   The black man accused of running down five white family members and killing a 2-year-old girl in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in Covington last May pleaded not guilty. Lanny Perry Barnes, 46, attended the 15-minute arraignment hearing wearing street clothes and no expression on his face. Sitting behind him was Stephanie Casola, the mother who was hit, along with her two sons, niece, and sister, by Barnes' vehicle. Witnesses told police that Barnes struck the family, backed up, smiled, and drove into them again. Casola's niece, Avery King, died of her injuries. Dark Demon Sex Offender Charged With Kidnap-Rape-Kill of White 11-year-old Jacksonville Girl In 1996  Fla. -- A Connecticut sex offender will be returned to Florida to face a murder charge after being linked to the decade-old rape and drowning of an 11-year-old girl through a database of DNA from convicted sex offenders. Robert Shelton Mitchell, 43, was being held on a $5 million bond after being arraigned as a fugitive. He will face first-degree murder and capital sexual battery charges in the death of Cherie Morrisette of Jacksonville. The Mandarin Middle School student body was found on Dec. 8, 1996, floating in the St. John's River about 10 miles south of the apartment she shared with her mother and sister. An autopsy determined that Cherie drowned shortly after her disappearance on Dec. 2, 1996, and was alive when she either fell into the river or was thrown in. Police labeled the death suspicious, and authorities found a small DNA sample on her underwear and body. Mitchell lived in nearby Middleburg at the time of the girl's death, police said Thursday. Mitchell later moved to Connecticut and was convicted in January 2003 of illegal sexual contact with another child.
