No bond for Terrell rampage suspect charged in store clerk's death TERRELL — A judge ordered no bond for the suspect charged in the death of a Terrell store clerk, who was one among five found killed Monday night in Terrell. Charles Brownlow Jr. was arraigned by Judge Mike Smith just before 9 a.m. Wednesday. The 36-year-old suspect was charged with evading arrest and capital murder in the death of 22-year-old Luis Leal. Terrell police Chief Jody Lay said more charges are pending. Leal was the last of five victims found by police during a deadly night in Terrell that began with the discovery of a body later determined to be Brownlow's 55-year-old aunt, Belinda Walker. Police were called to the home where Walker's body was found after shots were heard in the area at about 5 p.m. About 30 minutes later and a few blocks away, a local firefighter spotted a fire at a home where the body of Brownlow's mother, 63-year-old Mary Brownlow, was discovered. About five hours later, two more bodies were discovered at a nearby home where police also found a 3-year-old child uninjured in bed. Authorities identified the victims as 33-year-old Jason Wooden and 30-year-old Kelley Pratt, both acquaintances of Brownlow. It wasn't long after the discovery of Wooden and Pratt that an officer spotted the suspect's vehicle at a local convenience store, where Leal was found fatally shot. Brownlow evaded police in car and on foot before he was found hiding in heavy brush early Tuesday morning. - (Black-on-white) |

Widow of White paramedic killed in Oakland speaks, black teen on trial for murder OAKLAND, Calif. -- Liz Boyer is holding out hope that her late husband's dream of a better Oakland will be the ultimate result after his murder. She was in court today when a judge ruled a 16 year-old boy will stand trial for killing her husband, off-duty paramedic Quinn Boyer. Boyer was shot to death in Oakland last April. Black sentenced to three consecutive life terms for brutal murder of three Whites GONZALES — A tearful Laureida Dooley told Michael Aikens — the man who helped beat and slash the throats of her husband and in-laws nearly two years ago in a rural corner of Ascension Parish — that she prays daily not to hate Aikens and wish he would “go straight to hell.” Dooley delivered one of the more emotionally raw and powerful victim-impact statements Tuesday at Aikens’ sentencing hearing. State District Judge Alvin Turner Jr. gave Aikens three consecutive life terms without probation, parole or suspension of sentence. He was convicted in the 2012 murders of Robert Irwin Marchand, 74; his wife, Shirley Marchand, 72; and his stepson, Douglas Dooley, 50, of Cross Plains, Tenn., who was Laureida’s husband. The Marchands and Dooley were found with their throats slashed and signs of having been beaten. Robert Marchand and Dooley were dead. Shirley Marchand died March 2, 2012. (Black) suspect indicted with Nat'l Guard Armory shooting - he was being relieved of duty because of misconduct. MEMPHIS, TN - - A federal grand jury indicted a guardsman on nine counts related to a shooting at the Army National Guard Recruiting Center in Millington last week, which left multiple people injured. Amos Patton, 42, is charged with four counts of unlawfully attempting to kill Major William J. Crawford, Sergeant Major Ricky McKenzie, Lieutenant Colonel Hunter Belcher, and Sergeant Major CTC while they were in performance of their official duties. He is also charged with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of using and carrying a firearm during, and in relation to, a crime of violence. One of the three national guardsmen who was shot last week showed up in court to testify in the case against Sgt. First Class Amos Patton. If convicted, Patton could receive up to 20 years in prison for each charge of unlawfully attempting to kill and up to 20 years for each assault charge. - (Black-on-white) |

Police: Black man in clown makeup dangled child from railroad overpass A woman called police after she saw a man in clown makeup dragging screaming children into the woods about 2 a.m. Sunday. Police found three people behind a section of tall bushes. Antonio J. Brown, 33, of Kenosha, wearing the clown makeup, was one of them. With him were two children, age 13 and 8. The children were holding each other and crying uncontrollably. Police believed Brown to be highly intoxicated. The children said Brown, their mother’s boyfriend, had come back from a Halloween party in Racine about 1 a.m. and invited them to go for a walk on the train tracks. But this time, the 13-year-old child told police, Brown was drunk and was making the two children drink, too. The older child said he was forced to drink so much that he threw up. They climbed onto the train tracks and that when the younger child got scared and wanted to go home, Brown got mad. The children tried to run away, but Brown caught up with thim. The older child said Brown hung him upside down from the 50th Street overpass saying, "If you try that again, I'm going to drop you." They kept going and Brown climbed on top of trains parked on the tracks and was hopping back and forth from one to the other. When the younger child refused to climb up Brown grabbed him by the hair and tried to pull him up the train ladder. Brown later dangled the younger child from the train, holding his neck and ankle, and threatened to kill him. Brown is charged with two counts of physical abuse of a child and two counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety. |
Video Released of cowardly black who attacked 81-year-old 'swami' professor with knife to throat PHILADELPHIA - The 81-year-old victim, who sources say is part-time Professor Gopal Veeraswamy, was in a shared office on the second floor when police say the suspect came from behind and attacked. According to police, the suspect entered his office and punched the professor in his face, demanding his wallet while he placed a knife to his throat. Police say after taking the professor’s wallet, the suspect then punched him in his face again, causing lacerations to his face and head, as well as swelling and bleeding to the professor’s brain. The suspect is described as an African American male. |

Deputies: Black woman raped boy in gas station restroom OCALA, Fla. —A 46-year-old woman is charged with sexual battery after deputies said she forced a boy into a gas station bathroom an raped him. Authorities said the victim told them he was forced into the bathroom by Michelle Lucus. During an interview with detectives, Lucus told them she did go into the gas station restroom with the victim, but doesn't remember what happened beyond that. Lucus is charged with sexual battery with a victim being younger than 12 years old and false imprisonment of a child younger than 13 years old. She was taken to the Marion County Jail. |
17-year-old girl, said she was raped by black registered sex offender 'McClam' BERKELEY COUNTY, SC - Williamsburg County investigators say a man accused of kidnapping a mother and daughter has been charged for a church burglary. 36-year-old Telly McClam has been charged with second-degree burglary in addition to charges related to the kidnapping of a woman and her daughter. The burglary charges stem from an incident at a church in Salters about two weeks ago where someone broke into the Union Baptist Church and stole televisions. McClam pawned two of the three TV sets in a pawn shop. The vehicle McClam was driving in the kidnapping incident, fit the denoscription of the vehicle involved in the burglary. One of the victims in Monday's alleged kidnapping, a 17-year-old girl, said she was raped by McClam, a registered sex offender who authorities say kidnapped the teen and her mother. The rape victim says she was sexually assaulted after she told the suspect she would not have sex with him. "He said then this is where you're gonna die at, and he had the gun cocked in hand and everything, " Leandre Jenkins recalled. |
(Black) "Peeping Tom" Suspect May Be Linked to Hundreds of Cases, Police Say A Woodbridge man is suspected of spying on hundreds of women over the last two years, say Franconia police. Fuel truck driver Michael C. McCarter, 40, was arrested Friday after a citizen tipped off police. McCarter is accused of peeping on women in Fairfax County. Police say he could be connected to more than 200 cases in Franconia and about 50 each in the West Springfield and Sully districts dating back to 2011. Authorities say that McCarter would "commit a sexual act" while watching women through their ground-level windows. Police say he targeted women between their 20s and 50s. |

"It took them so long for the verdict," she said. "I thought: 'Oh, Lord!' I thought I was gonna have to pack up and move." She assumed if he was freed, he would find her and retaliate for her testimony. But, after about 10 hours of deliberations over two days, the jury convicted Yarbrough, 36, of sex trafficking Harris, seven other women and two teens from 2006 to 2009. Harris, who had four of Yarbrough's eight children said her breaking point came when Yarbrough said he planned to prostitute his own daughter, who was then 9. |

Police Arrest Man They Say Is 'Pink Pistol Rapist/Robber' TULSA, Oklahoma - Detectives arrested 18-year-old Aundra Walker in connection with a woman's abduction on Monday morning and another woman's abduction and sexual assault over the weekend. A robber armed with a 9mm handgun with a pink marking on it forced a woman to drive to her home so he could steal from her. When a neighbor tried to intervene, the man robbed him, too, and then took off with the woman again. Another woman on Saturday night was targeted by a man who fit a similar denoscription and M.O. The woman was leaving a convenience store on North MLK Blvd., when she was held at gunpoint by a man with a handgun with a pink slide, and forced to drive to an abandoned house on North Garrison. There, police say the woman was sexually assaulted. |

Five dead after Texas black goes on killing spree in rural Terrell community: police Five people are dead after police say a Texas man went on a gruesome killing spree through a rural community east of Dallas Monday night. Charles Everett Brownlow Jr., 36, was arrested by police in Terrell early Tuesday morning, ending a terrifying eight-hour manhunt that sent police going door-to-door searching for a killer. "We're all in a state of shock," Terrell Police Chief Jody Lay said while describing his city as a tight-knit country community. "This is going to have a big impact on us." As of Tuesday morning police have released no known motive for the deaths or relation between the victims who have yet to be publicly identified. At approximately 5 p.m. Monday, police say they were called to a neighborhood home where the body of a woman - the day's first victim — was discovered shot dead inside. Just 30 minutes later, as police were still investigating the scene, a report of a house fire just two blocks away uncovered a second woman's body. A neighbor of the women, who described one victim as his first cousin said that the two women found dead were related to one another. At 10:27 p.m. police were called to a fourth home approximately one mile away on Eulalia Drive. Police say they found a man and a woman dead inside. It only took 10 minutes before police say Brownlow came upon his fifth victim at a convenience store on West Moore Avenue at 10:37 p.m. Around 1:30 a.m. the suspect was located hiding near a creek and taken into custody by police. |

Woman found dead hours after allegedly assisting in home invasion with three black males Tarrie Lynn Byrom, 28, was found dead of apparent gunshot and stab wounds and was identified as one of the four attackers in a home invasion and aggravated robbery on the 2700 block of Madison Drive around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. The 19-year-old victim told police that as he was returning to his apartment and closing the door, Byrom forced her way in with three black males. Byrom and the victim knew each other and she had visited the apartment before, but their relationship was unclear. The men hit the victim in the head and body with their fists and a handgun, then bound him with tape before continuing the assault. The victim told police that Byrom and the men went through the apartment and took various items. Byrom and one of the men fled the scene in the victim’s 2007 Ford pickup. That truck was later recovered in front of the home where Byrom’s body was discovered. Byrom was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been sent to for an autopsy. Byrom in December was charged with four counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and one count of arson for a string of car break-ins. She was also charged with October 2012 with bigamy by Woodway police who were investigating her second husband, Jack McCarter IV, for a string of burglaries in the Woodway area. McCarter was also charged in the December vehicle break-ins. |

Arrests Made in "Craigslist Murder" of SoCal Father A Craigslist ad linked to several armed robberies lured a Southern California father and his son to a deadly encounter with two teenage gang members in South Los Angeles, LAPD investigators said Monday. Ryan Roth, 17, and Markell Thomas, 18, were arrested late last week in connection with the fatal shooting of Rene Balbuena in the 9200 block of Gramercy Place near 92nd Street in South LA. The 41-year-old father of two was in the area Oct. 19 responding to an ad for a $300 Samsung Galaxy that his son found on Craigslist. |

Coroner: biracial 2-year-old died from blunt force trauma by her black father that caused stomach to explode GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A coroner’s report says that the blunt force trauma that killed 2-year-old Zaeyana Driggs-Threats was so significant, it caused the toddler’s stomach to explode. And that blunt force came at the hands of her father, 22-year-old Deshawn Threats. Threats was in Grand Rapids District Court Thursday, Oct. 24, for the short conclusion to a probable cause hearing that started last month. Threats’ case was bound over to felony court, where he faces life in prison if convicted on a charge of felony murder for the death of the girl which occurred sometime before the morning of Aug. 4. “The child was hit so hard, the stomach exploded.” She said the report indicated that the child lived for a short period of time following the injuries. Brinkman said the report also showed the child had an old fracture to a rib, bruises and gastrointestinal injuries. During the first part of the hearing on Sept. 26, the child’s mother, Darci Driggs, testified she had gone to work leaving the girl and two siblings in the care of Threats. |

Belt Beating: Prison for black man who used extreme punishment on child A Cleveland man sentenced to prison in a horrific case of child abuse. Tuesday morning, Joe McCurdy III learned his punishment for using inappropriate punishment on a child - a year in prison. This, after McCurdy walked in on a violent situation at his girlfriend's house and made it worse. On April 22, Domonique Jones, McCurdy's girlfriend, allegedly tied her 9-year old daughter to a chair using belts. Jones then began whipping the victim with a belt. Jones then called the father of her children, Jermaind Mittner, to come over and help discipline the child. The father showed up at the same time McCurdy. When the father saw what was happening, he immediately called police. Jones continued whipping her daughter, and McCurdy used his belt to beat the girl's seven-year-old brother, who was trying to protect her. |

Black father is charged with murder of his 4-year-old daughter Jackson County authorities added a first-degree murder charge for a man accused of being responsible for the death of his 4-year-old daughter. Eric Lorenzo Davis, 23, already was in jail on a charge of felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury after his daughter, Erika, was found with severe injuries at Qualla Motel in Whittier on Oct. 11. She died from her injuries Oct. 12. A Jackson County grand jury indicted Davis on the murder charge Monday, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Shannon Queen said in a news release. |
Black family acquaintance who was babysitting charged in death of toddler Police have arrested a York man on charges stemming from the death of a toddler last year. Aric Woodard, 39, was charged Monday with criminal homicide in the Nov. 7 death of two-year-old Jacques Twinn. City police said Twinn died at York Hospital about a half-hour after they were called to a home in the 100 block of Maple Street for a child in cardiac arrest. Responding officers found the child unresponsive. A pathologist who performed an autopsy on the boy presented findings to detectives earlier this month that listed the cause of the child's death as multiple blunt force trauma and the manner of death as a homicide. Authorities said Woodard was a family acquaintance who was babysitting Twinn when the toddler suffered the trauma. |
Black father arrested, charged in death of 13-month-old baby CONROE, Texas – A father was arrested on charges of injury to a child after his 13-month-old died from injuries sustained while in his custody, according to police. Conroe Police officers were dispatched to the home of Willie Jackson, 22, in reference to a child not breathing. Upon arrival, officers found relatives performing CPR on the child per 911 operator instructions. EMS arrived on scene and transported the child to Conroe Regional Medical Center. The child was then flown by Life Flight to Texas Children’s Hospital. The child succumbed to internal injuries and died Wednesday morning. |
South Side Black Pleads Guilty To Murdering 1-Year-Old CHICAGO — A South Side man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for abusing his then girlfriend’s baby son in 2009, abuse that led to the child’s death. Tyrone Wilson pleaded guilty to murder and Judge Lawrence Flood sentenced him to 20 years in prison. Wilson, of the 200 block of East 72nd Street, was was charged with the July 31, 2009, death of 1-year-old Nashawn Lewis. The boy’s mother, Nashella Johnson, pleaded guilty to child endangerment in February 2010 in exchange for three years in prison. Johnson, the baby’s biological mother, took her son for a walk in his strolle and realized he was unresponsive. |
Rogers Park black man charged with infant son’s 2012 murder A North Side man has been charged with the 2012 death of his 4-month-old son. Rahsaan Condiff, 25, was arrested Monday and charged with murder, according to police News Affairs. Four-month-old Clayton Condiff was found unresponsive by his parents at his home in the 7500 block of North Seeley on the afternoon of Sept. 2, 2012, authorities said. |
Mom, boyfriend charged in death of infant make court appearance CHARLOTTE, NC - The mother and boyfriend charged in the murder of a toddler appeared in a Mecklenburg County courtroom. 22-year-old Jade Sheree Butler and 21-year-old Antonio Fernelle Cathey did not say anything to the judge and barely looked at their families who came to show their support. Butler's daughter was found unresponsive Friday. Detectives and the Medical Examiner's Office say 17-month-old Kyiemani Brewer was physically assaulted. Butler's father told the judge they would hire an attorney to represent her. |
Hearing reset for woman charged in son's death JACKSON, Miss. —A hearing is delayed again for a woman accused in the death of her 1-year-old son. Tiffany Manifield is charged with capital murder in connection with the July death of Tyree McDonald. Police said they were called to a house on Hair Street, where they found the boy unresponsive. He later died at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. An autopsy revealed that McDonald died from massive head injuries and skull fractures, authorities said. A judge rescheduled Monday's hearing because a witness for the prosecution failed to show up. The hearing had been rescheduled from last week so Manifield could hire a new attorney. |

Milledgeville Infant Dead 8-12 Hours Before Authorities Arrived MILLEDGEVILLE - police said they believe the case in which a two-month-old child was killed could have been domestic violence that "went wrong." The child, Makenzie Hartry, died on Sept. 6 in a Lincoln Street apartment. She was found in a crib in a back room with trauma to the right frontal lobe, police said. Investigators believe she was dead for about 8 to 12 hours before authorities arrived. The baby's parents, Tamarus Hartry and Jessica Driskell, were arrested Friday and charged with felony murder and first-degree child cruelty. |
Police: Gun that killed Fayetteville toddler was illegally owned Fayetteville, N.C. — Police said Monday that the Fayetteville man charged in the accidental shooting death of his daughter over the weekend should never have had a gun in the house because he's a convicted felon. Melvin Andre Clark Jr., 19, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was in the Cumberland County jail Monday under a $50,000 bond. Clark's 2-year-old daughter, Samarri Tyana Beauford, found a loaded .22-caliber semiautomatic handgun hidden under the living room couch on Saturday afternoon, and the gun went off when she grabbed it, police said. She died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. |

(Black) Man Arrested In Taylor Co. Baby's Death Police in Taylor County have arrested a Marion County man they think had something to do with the death of a child. Marcus Curtis Lewis has been arrested. Sheriff's deputies out of Taylor County said the 2-month-old child was transported from a home in Boothsville to United Hospital Center last Sunday, and passed away. In the criminal complaint released Monday investigators say Lewis was putting together a baby bed while watching the infant and a 3-year-old little girl when he claims the 3-year-old jumped on the baby. However an autopsy revealed the infant died from hematoma's on the brain which investigators believe is a result of being shaken. Lewis is charged with death of a child. |
Fayetteville: live-in black boyfriend faces murder charge in toddler's death Fayetteville police arrested a man Monday on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death last week of a 23-month-old toddler. Jabrenne-Keirre Kayshon Carter, 20, of the 5800 block of Aftonshire Drive, was also charged with felony child abuse in the death of Tylee Fields. The child was taken to a local hospital on Oct. 7 and died of his injuries two days later. Police said that a medical examiner's report found that the injuries occurred while in Carter's care. Carter lived with the child's mother, police said, but he is not related to the child. |
Black former Cobb sergeant indicted on charges of sex with four female inmates A Cobb County grand jury indicted a former Cobb Sheriff’s sergeant on charges that he had sexual encounters with four inmates at the county jail and elsewhere. The charges against Alvin Blake Sutherland, 51, of Douglasville include rape, sexual assault against persons in custody and violation of his oath of office. The acts are believed to have occurred between June 2009 and Jan. 11 of this year. Sutherland faces 21 counts: seven counts of aggravated sodomy; four counts of sexual assault against a person in custody; four counts of violation of oath by a public officer; three counts of making false statements; two counts of aggravated sexual battery; and one count of rape. Sutherland had sexual encounters with four female inmates. |
Toms River black questioned on library loitering charged in June sex assault of teen TOMS RIVER — A man spotted loitering near the county library branch was arrested after police connected him to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in June in Manchester, authorities said. Eugene Robinson, a 25-year-old from Toms River, was arrested around 11:55 p.m. on Saturday after a police officer identified him as the suspect sought on warrants for the assault issued just two weeks earlier. The teenager reported the incident immediately to the Manchester Police Department, and underwent a sexual assault examination, authorities said. The results from the New Jersey State Police laboratory came back on Oct. 4 – and the DNA matched Richardson. The arrest warrants for sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child were issued on Oct. 16. |
Black Accused of Raping Woman, Barricading Himself Inside Home A man was arrested after police say he raped a woman, threatened her with a knife and then barricaded himself inside his home. A 25-year-old woman told police she was walking on the 5800 block of Cedar Avenue early Saturday morning. As she was walking, the woman says she noticed a man, identified by police as 30-year-old David Brewington Jr., standing outside his home. The woman says her phone was not working so she stopped and asked Brewington if she could use his. As she reached for his phone, Brewington allegedly grabbed her and pulled her into his home. The woman says he then took her upstairs to a bedroom on the second floor and raped her. Brewington then went into her pocketbook and stole $160. The woman says she then told Brewington she was going to call police. Brewington then went downstairs. As she left the home, Brewington emerged from the kitchen with a knife in his hand. The woman ran outside the house and flagged down a passing motorist. As the motorist helped her, Brewington exited his house still armed with the knife and screamed, “I’ll kill you!” Then he then returned to his home and shut the door. |

Perjury rap for black narcotics cop in PCP bust Narcotics Detective Abel Joseph, 39, was arraigned Tuesday in a Manhattan court on felony perjury charges for allegedly giving two different sworn accounts of busting an accused PCP peddler in East Harlem. “This is a serious crime,” said Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Ryan Connors. “As a detective, honest police testimony is the bedrock of the criminal justice system.” The undercover from the Bronx testified before a grand jury in August 2010 that he and his team were unable to find the buyers but never lost sight of the alleged drug pusher, according to prosecutors. Joseph changed his story during a September 2011 hearing, claiming he had nabbed and released the buyers after finding no drugs on them. He also admitted losing sight of the dealer before cuffing him. |
Sen. John Sampson’s ex-aide busted for fraud, tax crimes A former top aide to indicted state Sen. John Sampson has been busted on a range of fraud and tax crimes – including charges he bilked the New York Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee out of $100,000, federal authorities announced Tuesday. Melvin Lowe, 52, scammed the cash out of the DSCC in 2010 by getting a printer to send the committee a fake bill and then forward most of the cash on to him, according to federal prosecutors. Lowe is a powerful political consultant who worked as a lobbyist for Brooklyn mega-developer Forest City Ratner and on Andrew Cuomo’s unsuccessful 2002 campaign for governor. |

Black Boston man convicted in White group home worker slaying A 30-year-old Boston man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in the 2011 fatal stabbing of a mental health counselor at the Revere group home where he lived. A jury convicted Deshawn James Chappell of first-degree murder on Monday in the slaying of 25-year-old Stephanie Moulton of Peabody. A judge then gave him the mandatory sentence. Prosecutors said Chappell stabbed Moulton in the throat, stole her car and dumped her body at a church parking lot in Lynn. His defense attorney said Chappell has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had episodes of major mental illness. The Boston Globe reports court records showed his family told the group home they were concerned he wasn't taking his medications. Raleigh police charge black with human trafficking involving 17-year-old - (White Slavery) RALEIGH — Police arrested a man early Monday on a human trafficking charge, saying he kept a minor in sexual servitude for a week earlier this month, and with using a handgun to rob a woman of an iPad and a cell phone two weeks ago. Kewon Tremayne Perry, 20, was arrested at his home at 604 Rawls Dr. in Raleigh. An arrest warrant alleging the human trafficking felony said it happened between Oct. 1 and 7. The case involved prostitution of a 17-year-old female victim. State law says that someone is guilty of human trafficking if he or she “knowingly recruits, entices, harbors, transports, provides, or obtains by any means another person with the intent that the other person be held in involuntary servitude or sexual servitude.” The law also says that for this crime, any victim under 18 is considered a minor. |
Black Gwinnett teen arrested for rape, kidnapping LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- A 19-year-old Lawrenceville man faces a number of charges related to a recent kidnapping and rape. Emmanuel Brandon Dupree was arrested early Monday after police tracked down a car stolen during the crime. Dupree is accused of a kidnapping, rape and car theft that occurred Oct. 20. Police said the victim was attacked at knifepoint in the parking lot of the Walmart on Lawrenceville Highway. The suspect also stole her credit cards, which he used at a nearby Kroger, and her white 2008 Kia Optima. The stolen car was discovered at around 1:30 a.m. Monday at a Days Inn on West Pike Street, according to Lawrenceville Police Capt. Greg Vaughn. Police found and arrested Dupree while interviewing guests at the Days Inn. He has been charged with rape, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. |
Black Man Wanted for Rape, Terroristic Threatening NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Law enforcement officers are searching for a man they say tried to rape a woman after meeting her and her friend at a bar. An arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Colin Breshawn Toatley, who is wanted for rape and terroristic threatening. A deputy responded to the call around 6:30 last Thursday morning, where she found a woman standing in the doorway crying, with dried blood on her legs, arms and hands. The woman told the deputy she had just been sexually assaulted by a man she met at Mid-Town Billiards while out celebrating her friend's birthday. |
Black accused in rape try at Grossmonth College EL CAJON, Calif. - A man accused of forcing an 18-year-old female student into her car at knifepoint in a Grossmont College parking garage pleaded not guilty to assault with intent to commit rape. Anthony Jerome Washington Jr., 26, was ordered held on $205,000 bail. He faces 16 years in prison if convicted. Deputy District Attorney Nicole Roth said the victim was leaning into her car at the western El Cajon campus shortly before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when Washington forced her into the vehicle. Roth said Washington had gone to the college with the specific purpose of "taking sex." |

Randolph man gets life in prison for 2nd child rape conviction BOSTON (AP) - A Randolph man convicted of child rape for the second time has been sentenced to life in prison. William "Frank" Andrade was convicted of three counts of rape of a child and five counts of indecent assault and battery on a child. At a second set of proceedings Thursday, Judge Elizabeth Fahey found that he was the same person convicted of rape of a child in 1992, a crime for which he was sentenced to seven to 10 years in prison. At the request of prosecutors, Fahey sentenced Andrade to life in prison with a concurrent 20- to 25-year prison term, followed by lifetime probation if he's paroled. Authorities say the 57-year-old Andrade assaulted a friend's daughter when she was between 11 and 13. |

Photos of black Harvey bank robbery suspects released Detectives with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help to identify the pair of men who held up a Chase bank branch in Harvey Monday morning. The robbers dressed as construction workers and drove to the bank in a stolen car, said Glen T. Boyd, spokesman for the department. The robbery occurred at the branch located at 2340 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey. The suspects entered just after the bank opened for business at 9 a.m. |

During the month of June, members of the Drug Control Squad received information from a concerned citizen about the diminishing quality of life of those living in the community of Belvedere due to illegal drug activity and sales taking place at home in the 400 block of Kiamensi Road in Wilmington. Police immediately began an investigation and obtained enough information within the next several months to confirm the allegation. On October 25th, a search warrant was obtained and was executed at the residence. When officers arrived and entered the home, Tyrone Anderson, his sister Chantel Anderson and David Lewis, were taken into custody without incident. |
Police: Riot Breaks Out At Highland Park Haunted House Austin police arrested at least four people at a haunted house near Highland Mall this weekend. Officers responded to reports of a large crowd of people fighting at the House of Torment at 5901 Airport Blvd. late Saturday night. When they arrived, police say they saw a crowd of more than 200 gathers, some were fighting. The crowd grew more unruly and threw rocks at the officers when they tried to intervene, according to police. Officers arrested three juveniles and one adult. Tyrie Laron Ockleberry, 17, Ahmad Raushaud Valdez-Carter, 17, Winzell William Washington, 17, and Charles Robertson-Davis, 22, face several charges including aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and inciting a riot. |
Retired Black Philly Cop Charged With Gunpoint Confrontation in Upper Darby UPPER DARBY, Pa. — A retired Philadelphia police officer is behind bars in Delaware County, facing a number of charges for apparently trying to take the law into his own hands. Upper Darby police say Roscoe Campbell pulled a gun on a motorist in the parking lot of a Wawa on State Road early Saturday morning. Police say the 79-year-old man flashed a badge and demanded a $300 “fine” from the driver who was illegally parked in a handicapped spot, threatening to have the car towed. The victim said he didn’t have the money so, according to investigators, Campbell took the man’s driver’s license and a credit card. |
3 (blacks) charged with murder in Newport News Three people from Newport News have been charged with Swilling's murder: 29-year-old Jonas Lawrence Rodgers; 28-year-old Tansy Shavone Sulton and 30-year-old Carlos Emanuel Manson, Jr. Each is charged with murder, burglary, conspiracy to commit robbery, and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. A man was found dead after a shooting around 3:30 Sunday morning. According to a press release, police responded to the 1100 block of 31st Street in regards to a report of gunshots heard in the area. When officers arrived a woman flagged them down and advised of a home where a shooting took place. A man was discovered lying on the floor near the front door of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has identified as 23-year-old Terry E. Swilling. |

Woman reports Lesbian rape by another woman LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A Little Rock woman was arrested and charged Saturday with third-degree battery and the rape of another woman. According to Little Rock police, a 24-year-old called 911 after 32-year-old Elizabeth Navarro raped her at Navarro's home on the 1600 block of John Barrow Road about 9:50 a.m. The police report indicated that after an argument on Friday night, Navarro refused to let the 24-year-old leave her apartment. The report went on to say that when the 24-year-old tried to sleep, Navarro repeatedly raped her. |

Black man receives life sentence for home-invasion rape of UGA grad in west Athens A 20-year-old man on Friday was sentenced to life plus 70 years in prison for a home-invasion rape last year at a Westside Athens apartment complex. Allen Hendric Robinson was sentenced soon after a Clarke County jury returned guilty verdicts on charges of rape, burglary, false imprisonment, armed robbery, aggravated assault and sexual battery. Jurors began deliberating Thursday afternoon after sitting through three days of testimony. Among those who testified were the victim, who at the time of the July 2012 assault had recently graduated from the University of Georgia and was preparing to move back to her home town when Robinson attacked her. |
Eighth (Black) Man Charged In Gang-Rape Sexual Assault Of Three Girls CHICAGO – An eighth man has been charged with allegedly taking part in the sexual assaults of two teen sisters and another 16-year-old in a moving van on the West Side. Ramel Stevens, 20, was ordered held for his alleged role in the Oct. 19 attack. Bond was set at $500,000 for 17-year-old Maurice Johnson, of the 800 block of Massasoit, and Vanburen Robinson, 18, of Maywood, after the three victims identified the two as attackers. Stevens was also identified in a photo array by the victims. Also charged in the incident are Fitzpatrick Durham, 18; Kelvin Pryor, 17; Sadarius Price, 17; Joshua Grayer, 18, and Denzel Clay, 19. The rapes were videotaped on a cell phone camera. |
Two Black Men Arrested, Accused of Raping Woman DAYTON -- Police have caught two men accused of raping a woman. Gary Elliot and Roland Reeder, Jr. are both in jail facing felonious assault, kidnapping, rape and robbery charges. Police say the two men grabbed a 49-year-old woman while she was walking home on Fairview Avenue early Wednesday morning. Detectives say the men raped the woman in the back yard of a vacant property. During the attack, the men got spooked by nearby police cruisers and took off. The woman and other witnesses described the suspects, who were then tracked down and arrested. |

Christopher Roquemore is accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Nov. 1, 2012. He is being held with no bond. Court documents show Roquemore has a criminal history that includes indecent exposure and a rape conviction in 2011 and 1989. He was sentenced to three years in prison for the 2011 rape conviction. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the sexual assault in1989. |

Bridgeport Black Arrested for Westport Sexual Assault A Bridgeport man turned himself into Westport Police after a yearlong investigation into a Thanksgiving day sexual assault. Joseph Carey, 23, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant issued by the Westport Police Detective Bureau Youth Division. According to police, Carey choked and sexually assaulted a juvenile female that was visiting her family for Thanksgiving last November. Carey is charged with Sexual Assault 1st and Risk of Injury to a Minor. |
Lauderdale Lakes black arrested in sexual assault of two girls A 40-year-old man is accused of raping a teenage girl in the presence of a younger girl, who he also sexually abused, according to a Broward sheriff's report. Joel Theodore, of Lauderdale Lakes, was charged Tuesday with three counts of sexual battery on a child. He is being held without bond in Broward County jail. The older girl told investigators that Theodore had raped her twice against her will. During one of those instances, on Sunday, her rape happened in the presence of the younger girl. During the investigation, the younger girl told detectives that she, too, had been raped by Theodore as recently as Friday, the report said. The younger girl said that Theodore had sexually battered her since she was 8 years old. |
Police Arrest Black Accused Of Sending Sexual Messages To Ninth Grader Lexington police arrested a Louisville man accused of sending sexual messages to a girl he thought was in ninth grade. Police say Houston Young, 32, sent Facebook messages to a 14-year-old girl, not realizing she was grounded and her mom was the person responding. Court documents describe graphic sexual conversations. Police say Young admitted to investigators that he sent the messages and that he thought the girl was 14. Police arrested Young Tuesday and charged him with using electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities. |
