Teacher With Criminal Past Accused Of raping a 13-year-old girl and sexually abusing another  BALTIMORE -- A private school teacher in court accused of sexually abusing several students had been previously convicted of murder Students returned to class at the Community Initiatives Academy for the first time since authorities arrested Charles Carroll, 28, last week. Carroll is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl and sexually abusing another 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl. Carroll was convicted in 1995 of second-degree murder stemming from a fight. He got out of prison in 2001 and was hired at the school about a year later under the supervision of parole and probation officers. - (Gman) |
Police: Spring Break Encounter With Black Pimps Leads Girl Into Prostitution A Spring Break encounter turned into a nightmare for a 16-year-old girl. Police said she was charmed by a man who convinced her to run away him. Miami investigators said Chad Yearby, 24, and his friend Mark Madison, 21, gave the teen the job of prostitute. Police said the two, along with 24-year-old Justin Evans, a known sex offender, were her pimps. Murder Trial Begins for Man Accused of Smothering Boy & Putting Body in Oven The murder trial of a Beaumont man accused of killing his girlfriend`s son in April 2004 is underway in San Antonio. Kenneth Pierott is facing a murder charge for allegedly smothering his then-girlfriend`s six-year-old son. Authorities say Pierott then put Tre Devin Odoms` body inside an oven and turned it on. Babysitter held on charges of sexually assaulting children, again  A 19-year-old man on probation for sexually assaulting children was arrested for allegedly molesting children again, police said. Emanuel Moreland was sentenced to three years of probation eight months ago for committing lewd acts on children younger than 12, the same charges he was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Saturday. While baby-sitting five children Thursday, Moreland sent the boys out to play but kept the girls inside where he showed them pornographic DVDs and fondled them. When the girls, ages 9 and 6, tried to leave, Moreland told them: "You cannot go out the door," the report said. - (Brewski) |
Accused Rapist Escaped, Caught Relief Friday night for a Lafayette woman who's been in hiding since finding out her accused rapist was on the run. Police in Houston found and captured 28-year-old Terrence Landry in a Houston hotel room. Black man sentenced for machete attack on 59-year-old White woman   Damian Hayes, who was convicted of attacking a woman with a machete while she gardened in her backyard, was sentenced to life in prison. Hayes' victim, Eileen Klinck, said seeing Hayes at his sentencing hearing in a Tampa courtroom was chilling. "I felt trembling and cold." "It's hard because the memories are so painful." Before sentencing, Hayes' father, Freddie Hayes, told the court his son is mentally ill and asked for mercy. Houston rape suspect may be linked to 4 robberies - Police say black has a 'hatred' for Hispanic women A man charged in the sexual assault and robbery of a woman at her southeast Houston apartment last week has been linked to four other robberies. Eric Gabriel Green III, 33, had a "hatred" for Hispanic women. Four of his five alleged victims were Hispanic, and the only non-Hispanic woman attacked was told it was her "lucky day" she was of a different race. The attacks were getting progressively more violent, police said. Man Accused of Day-Long Torture and Rape Attack over "missing welfare check" AColumbus man is charged with brutally raping his girlfriend in what amounts to the all-day assault and torture of the mother of the suspect's two children.
The details are disturbing. The sheer brutality of this case stunned even veteran detectives. Columbus Police say Joshua Davon Myers, age 23, beat, bound, tortured, kidnapped and raped the mother of his two preschool children. Teenager is accused of rapes in East St. Louis Maurice D. Brown lives in the East St. Louis neighborhood where at least seven women have been raped in the past nine months. The day before his 18th birthday, Brown was charged with breaking into the homes of three of those women and sexually assaulting them. Police say Brown is a "person of interest" in four other rapes. Police s emphasized that East St. Louis residents should feel safer with Brown off the streets. DNA Links Man Who Posed As Home Buyer To Rape - Man's Alleged Accomplice Posed As Realtor, Police Say Fla. -- Police have arrested a man they say posed as a potential homebuyer and then raped a woman in 2000. Coconut Creek police said Joseph Michael Finch, 30, posed as a homebuyer and went to a home with an accomplice who posed as a realtor. The accomplice knocked on the door and then Finch and another man, both wearing masks, forced their way into the home.The men then held a gun on the woman who had answered the door, and forced her into a garage. The woman was forced face down onto the garage floor and raped.

State trooper wounded, inmate killed in shootout on I-65 in Montgomery A state trooper has been injured and an inmate has been killed in a shootout on I-65 in Montgomery.The prisoner involved was state inmate Ronald Stallworth who was serving time for assault, murder and kidnapping. The inmate was being transported when he overpowered the guard. The deputy was injured in the attack. Earnhardt says the inmate then took the deputy's patrol vehicle and headed south on I-65. Shootout kills suspect, wounds FBI agent CONYERS, Ga. (AP) -- A manhunt for a pair of Alabama bank robbery suspects who wounded a Columbus, Ga., police officer ended Thursday after a shootout with FBI agents at a Conyers, Ga., motel. One suspect was killed and an FBI agent was wounded, city officials said.
Morgan Chigawa, 20, and Malik Salman Elawad, 25, were wanted for aggravated assault of a police officer stemming from a Monday bank robbery in Phenix City, Ala., said Columbus police spokesman Capt. Lem Miller.

Escaped sex offender caught in Florida (CNN) -- A convicted sex offender who removed his tracking bracelet and bolted earlier this week is in police custody. Deputy U.S. marshals and members of the service's North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force nabbed Patrick Wayne Bell, 39, as he waited at a Tallahassee, Florida, bus stop across from the Greyhound bus station. 2-Time Sex Offender Moving Into East-Side Neighborhood MADISON, Wis. -- About 17,000 sexual offenders are living in Wisconsin. Neighbors usually never know of their presence. But this time, police say, people need to know. William Marberry has been convicted twice of sexual assault -- once for assaulting an adult woman and another for assaulting a 14-year-old girl. Now, he's moving here on Madison's east side. Police won't give an exact address, but held a meeting to inform nearby residents.

Student Lindsey Bonistall of White Plains was Strangled by black home invader   Newark police are hoping that a home invasion early Saturday morning can be linked to the suspect in the murder of a University of Delaware student. Twenty-year-old Lindsey Bonistall of White Plains, New York, was strangled before her apartment was set on fire Sunday morning. Cop not indicted on statuatory rape sex charge A grand jury didn't indict a veteran Jackson police officer accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl he once mentored, the Hinds County district attorney's office confirmed. Officer Perry Coleman, a member of the Police Department since 1992, was charged in December with statutory rape involving the girl. "There was a lack of forensic evidence to substantiate the allegation," District Attorney Faye Peterson said. Coleman was off duty when the alleged rape occurred at his home, according to reports. Suspect Charged In Rape, Robbery Of Family Houston police released a picture of a man they say raped and robbed a southeast Houston woman last week and then forced her family to take him to ATMs in order to rob them. Investigators said Eric Green used a knife to gain entry in their apartment on April 25. One of the victims said that Green sexually assaulted her mother before forcing her and her 2-month-old baby into a car. She said the suspect put the knife at her throat and forced her to drive to ATMs for cash. The woman eventually escaped by calling for help at a grocery store. - (Gman) |
Former Councilman Charged In Wife's Murder - Woman Is Shot In Head While Sitting In Her car CLEVELAND -- A former Maple Heights councilman has been charged in his wife's murder. Kimberly Benson, 44, was shot in the head Saturday while she sat in her car on South Miles Road in Cleveland. The woman was in the car with her husband, former Maple Heights City Councilman James Benson. Witnesses said he reached behind Kimberely with a gun and fired. A federal judge ordered a northwest Georgia man, a self-proclaimed messenger from God named Abraham Kennard, to serve time in federal prison for more than 17 years. Kennard was accused of defrauding churches, and stealing more than $9 million from them. Kennard proclaimed, up until the end, that God had blessed him to help small churches prosper and expand.
