(Black) Man charged in 2010 Saginaw homicide of (White woman) Taylor Poling
Taylor PolingTyrill L. WadeSAGINAW, MI — Prosecutors have issued charges in a 2010 cold case homicide on Saginaw's East Side. Tyrill L. Wade faces an open count of murder and three firearm offenses in the Dec. 7, 2010, shooting death of Taylor Poling. Prosecutors issued the charges Friday, April 29. Wade, 30, has been in prison since 2011 but is scheduled for release Tuesday, said Chief Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Boyd. "We've been looking at this for a while," he said. "Through a diligent effort from the Major Crimes Unit, they were able to bring us enough evidence that we were able to authorize the charges (Friday) before he was released." Boyd declined to comment on the specifics of the case pending Wade's future court hearings. It was not clear if a judge will arraign Wade via video conferencing from prison or if authorities will bring him to Saginaw on Tuesday. Police have said Poling's boyfriend about 8:30 p.m. discovered her shot inside her one-bedroom rental apartment at 446 S. 10th near Burt. Doctors pronounced her dead about two hours later. Poling, a 20-year-old Saginaw Intermediate School District Transition Center post-secondary student, had recently moved to the home, according to neighbors. - (Black-on-white)

Second black arrested in fatal Lincoln shooting of two (apparently white men) and family dog
Angelique Fisher and Xheronte Lewisfamily dogChristopher ColemanChristopher ColemanJerry GriffisLINCOLN, Neb. —Lincoln police have arrested a second person in connection with a fatal shooting last week. Angelique Fisher, 18, was arrested Wednesday as an accessory to a felony in the death of Christopher Coleman, 32. Another man, Jerry Griffis, 21, remains critically injured. Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister said a robbery took place before the shooting on April 18 and that Fisher provided false information about the shooting to police. Fisher is the girlfriend of Xheronte Lewis, 20, who was arrested earlier for aiding and abetting in the robbery associated with the shooting. According to court documents, Lewis told police that he went to Coleman's home near 19th Street and Euclid Avenue to buy marijuana. Lewis said he had just left the home when he saw a man dressed in a puffy jacket and carrying a gun go inside. Lewis then heard gunshots and found Coleman dead. A witness told investigators that Lewis was with the man in the puffy jacket, and they went back into the house together. Fisher is being held in the Lancaster County Jail.     (Black) Killer gets 30 years with no parole for fatally stabbing of (his obese white ex-girlfriend) a Jersey City Sunday school teacher
Michael HumphreyPatricia SantanaThe man who brutally stabbed a Jersey City Sunday school teacher to death days after she broke up with him was sentenced to 30 years in prison yesterday. Michael Humphrey received his sentence yesterday for the 2014 murder of Patricia Santana, 53, his former fiancée who taught Sunday school at St. Anne's Church in the Jersey City Heights for 20 years. "She was braver than the coward who stole her life," Santana's sister, Carol Dowd said during yesterday's hearing. "A real man would have walked away, but you chose to deal with it the only way you know how — as a coward and a murderer." Humphrey, 45, bent forward and wiped tears from his eyes with a tissue held in his handcuffed hands as Dowd spoke before more than 30 friends and family members of Santana. Before sentencing Humphrey by the terms to his plea deal, Hudson County Superior Court Judge John Young said the crime was "so outrageous, so brutal." Humphrey said nothing at the hearing and "has certainly shown no remorse". On the morning of the attack — Oct. 9, 2014 — Humphrey called State Police and said he stabbed his girlfriend "all over the place" and he was turning himself in. Humphrey had blood on his hands when he was picked up. - (Black-on-white)

After acquittal in death of (White female) cab driver, (black crack addict) Johnathan Mitchell indicted in cab robbery
Johnathan Dewayne MitchellCatherine “Cathy” Ann StickleyThe man acquitted in the 2011 homicide of a local cab driver has now been charged in federal court for robbing her at the time of her death. Johnathan Dewayne Mitchell, 38, of Cedar Rapids, was indicted Tuesday of one count of robbery affecting commerce in U.S. District Court. The indictment states Mitchell obstructed commerce — the cab company service — by “violently” robbing Catherine “Cathy” Stickley, 54, who was driving a Century Cab on April 29, 2011. His initial appearance in federal court hasn’t been set. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison. Mitchell was acquitted in 2013 by a Story County jury for first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the homicide of Stickley, 54, of Cedar Rapids, who was stabbed to death that night in 2011. The trial was moved from Linn County due to pretrial publicity. According to testimony, Stickley was stabbed 18 times in the neck and head. Mitchell’s prints were found in Stickley’s blood in the cab. The prosecution claimed Mitchell needed money for crack cocaine and he killed Stickley to get it. Mitchell was out on bond pending a 2010 assault when Stickley was killed. Mitchell admitted during the trial that he stole money from Stickley to buy crack cocaine but he said she was already dead, lying outside the cab on the ground in the 1500 block alley between Second and Third avenues SE. Mitchell was the only suspect in the homicide and the case hasn’t been reopened. - (Black-on-white)

Attorney: (Black) Man Who Fatally Shot Two (white) Teen Girls Should Get Manslaughter
black killerBobbie Sartain and Raquel GerstelOAKLAND — Diantay Powell’s defense lawyer admitted Tuesday that Powell brutally gunned down two teenage girls near Brookdale Park in East Oakland in 2012 but said he should only be convicted of voluntary manslaughter because he had a troubled childhood. In his opening statement in Powell’s trial in Alameda County Superior Court, defense attorney Darryl Stallworth said Powell “was walking around with no decision-making ability” because he’d been forced to move from home to home as a child, began using drugs at the age of nine and started taking painkillers after he was shot 14 times when he was only 13 years old. “My client, Diantay Powell, is responsible for the deaths of Bobbie Sartain and Raquel Gerstel but the issue you will struggle with is whether it was first-degree murder, second-degree murder of voluntary manslaughter,” Stallworth told jurors. Sartain, 16, and Gerstel, 15, were killed in a hail of at least two dozen gunshots in the 2600 block of Minna Avenue near Brookdale Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2012. However, prosecutor Melissa Dooher said she will ask jurors to find Powell guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, saying that the evidence in the case proves that he was the shooter. A second defendant, 23-year-old Antonio Edwards, is standing trial with Powell on a charge of being an accessory after the fact for allegedly driving Powell away from the shooting scene. Stallworth said that on the night of the shooting, Powell had sex with Gerstel and they later hung out in a car with Edwards, Sartain and another young man. Powell called Gerstel and Sartain “bitches” - (Black-on-white)

2 more (black) people plead guilty in Dundalk beating 7 people total to serve time for beating Richard Fletcher (a White man)
Richard FletcherSamtoya WilliamsMya StewartGarry Baker Jr.Keenan HollowayAntoine LawsonAndrew AllenYahkeem WheatleyTOWSON, Md. —It's been nearly a year since 62-year-old Richard Fletcher was almost beaten to death by a group of teens outside his home. All seven people charged in the case have now pleaded guilty, bringing an end to the investigation. Cellphone video shows the moments before Fletcher's life would change forever. Ironically, the same video would also ensure the seven people arrested for beating him to within inches of his life would go to prison. "We think, while it's not the perfect outcome, we think it's a reasonable outcome," Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger said. Shellenberger responded after Samtoya Williams, 18, and Mya Stewart, 16, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault Wednesday. Garry Baker Jr., 17, and Keenan Holloway, 21, as well as three juveniles, had previously done the same. The key piece of evidence that led to the pleas is the cellphone video. "It really is unfathomable how a fight and someone telling them to get off their car could just turn into such a frenzy that really was out of control," Shellenberger said. The video shows what happened on April 22, 2015, when two girls from Baltimore Community High School got into a fight that ended up on Fletcher's pickup truck. The video shows when he goes out to break up the fight, he is beaten and stomped almost to death, and his wallet is stolen. It revealed in court that Stewart delivered the kicks to Fletcher's head, causing permanent brain damage. - (Black-on-white)

(Cowardly black thug Bus Driver Hit (White) Woman With Bat In Traffic Dispute, Police Say
Meagan PaniciDwayne PrestonANDERSONVILLE — An off-duty Chicago Transit Authority employee who believed he'd been cut off by another driver attacked the woman with a metal baseball bat as she waited for a red light. Meagan Panici, 29, said she was waiting to turn left from Foster Avenue to Clark Street — one of Andersonville's busiest intersections — when she was approached by a man holding a bat who accused her of cutting him off blocks earlier. The man wore his CTA uniform during the attack, but was not on-duty at the time. After Panici got out of her car during the confrontation, she said, the man swung the bat at her "Frank Thomas"-style, hitting her in her leg and leaving her doubled over in pain. An arrest report identified the man as 46-year-old Dwayne Preston, a CTA bus driver. Preston was arrested after the incident in late February and charged with battery causing bodily harm, court records show. He was released on his own recognizance pending trial.
According to Panici, she and Preston were stopped at a red light when Preston walked up to her car and began to berate her — before eventually jabbing her in her head with a baseball bat through an open car window. Panici said she was scared and tried to open her door slightly to push Preston away. But he immediately shut the door on her foot, she said. With "adrenaline pumping," Panici said she opened the door again, got out, and told Preston to "back up." He refused and continued to threaten her, she claimed, so she spit at him. That's when Preston hit her with the bat, she said. - (Black-on-white)

Mistaken death ruling in Vallejo native’s homicide blamed for lack of press coverage
Lynn Marie MartinMark CarrVallejo native Lynn Marie Martin, 54, died in her San Pablo home Feb. 23, 2015, but authorities didn’t immediately realize her death was a homicide. The suspect, Mark Anthony Carr, 27, was an acquaintance from two doors down and who police believe was involved in the death of a Hercules man during an attempt to kill another woman. That woman was strangled during a home invasion, but survived, Graves said. Graves said that in that case, police found a middle-aged Asian woman inside a house with plastic over her face. Officers removed the plastic and rushed the woman to a hospital in critical condition. The man, Leroy Sandoval, 58, was then found dead in the home’s garage with his head covered in plastic packing tape. Police found the circumstances similar enough to Lynn Martin’s to warrant a closer look, the Martins and Graves said. Their daughter’s death was ruled a homicide a couple months later, they said. Carr was supposed to go to “a nuthouse in Porterville,” Troy Martin said. But Graves said the Porterville facility wouldn’t take him because evaluating officials determined he was faking symptoms that lead to him being declared mentally unfit for trial. Carr is a significantly younger man with whom Lynn Martin was acquainted and who her parents said was introduced to them as their daughter’s dog walker. - 04/23/16 - (Black-on-white)

Police: (White) Mom Finds Daughter’s Body Stuffed In Closet; (Black boyfriend) Suspect Cuts Off GPS Tether
Keith WileyMarie Elizabeth ColburnPONTIAC – Authorities in Pontiac are investigating a homicide after a 30-year-old woman was found dead inside a closet. The situation unfolded when Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies responded on a report of a possible homicide. They found Marie Elizabeth Colburn’s body stuffed inside a closet with obvious signs of trauma. Colburn’s mother told police she hadn’t heard from her daughter since Tuesday this week, so she went to her apartment with her husband to check on her welfare. Vernon MadisonJulius SchulteMONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama Supreme Court has set an execution date for a man convicted of killing a Mobile police officer in 1985. The court has set a May 12 execution date for Vernon Madison. Madison was convicted of killing Mobile Police Officer Julius Schulte in 1985. Schulte had responded to a domestic dispute involving Madison. Lawyers for the attorney general’s office say trial evidence showed Madison crept up and shot Schulte in the back of the head as he sat in his police car. Madison’s lawyer wrote in court papers that his client has been mentally incapacitated by strokes and mental illness. Alabama in January carried out the state’s first execution in more than two years. - (Black-on-white)

Black man hides in trunk of (white) wife's car, stabs her to death and runs her over, before shooting their two kids and himself dead
Henry Ramone BrownChericia Brown2 kids murdered by their black fatherA Florida father-of-two stabbed and ran over his estranged wife, shot dead their children before turning the gun on himself in a horrific murder-suicide. Henry Ramone Brown, 30, had hidden in the trunk of his wife's car which was parked outside a Sanford Chili’s, in Lake Mary, armed with a knife. When Chericia Brown, 31, returned to her car at around 10pm on Sunday, her husband jumped out and stabbed her multiple times. Brown attempted to hide the seriously injured Chericia by dragging her into the bushes and ran round the building to retrieve his car. But two medical professionals, who had been dining at the restaurant, had discovered the victim and were attempting to help her when Brown returned. The suspect drove round the building and ran over his wife, and the two diners attempting to help her. All three were rushed to a local hospital where Chericia Brown was pronounced dead. One of medical professionals is still in hospital in a 'stable condition' while the other has since been released. Henry Brown fled the scene and police say he swapped vehicles before driving to pick up his two children, aged one and four, from a babysitter. The 30-year-old, who was armed with a gun, then drove to Central Florida Regional Hospital where his wife had been transported after his attack. He arrived at around 12.20am, in an attempt to find Chericia, but was swiftly recognized by police. Brown opened fire on officers, and hospital security staff, and managed to escape back to his Ford pick-up truck. But police gave chase and were able to track down Brown on Interstate 4, using 'stop sticks' to disable the vehicle. When deputies approached the truck, they found the suspect had shot dead his two young children inside the car, before turning the gun on himself. - (Black-on-white)
