Charges Could Be Thrown Out in (White) 8-Year-Old Kevin Shifflett's Brutal Murder by Racist Black  The family of an 8-year-old boy who was brutally murdered while playing outside an Alexandria home 14 years ago is afraid his killer could walk free. Kevin Shifflett was playing outside his great-grandmother's Del Ray home in April 2000 when police say Gregory Murphy -- 33 years old at the time -- approached Kevin and stabbed him 18 times. "He was a kid playing on spring break," Kevin's sister Heather Huntington said. "He wasn't hurting anybody ... so why [was he stabbed]?" Murphy was arrested shortly after for the stabbing, but every time he's gone to court, he has been ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial. Fourteen years later, doctors say Murphy cannot be made competent to stand trial in Kevin's death. Because of that, defense lawyers want to drop criminal charges against Murphy, commit him to a mental institution and have the case handled civilly. - (Black-on-white) |

Black Man Attacks (White) Cook County Judge in Court, Sheriff's Officials Say   A man who appeared in Cook County Court Thursday morning on aggravated battery charges attacked judge Geary Kull after his hearing, sending him to the hospital, Cook County Sheriff's authorities said. The sheriff's office said Michael Ganter was being escorted by two sheriffs to a holding cell just before noon when he broke free near the side of the judge’s bench. Ganter went to the judge and punched him in the head and face, authorities said. Sheriff's officers and other law enforcement in the courtroom assisted in subduing him. A taser was deployed during the incident, sheriff's authorities said, and officials confirmed the judge was hit in the hand with a probe from the device. The judge was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. His condition wasn't immediately released. - (Black-on-white) |

Adopted white Michigan teen plotted family’s death to run away with black adult boyfriend   Roksana Sikorski, 15, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of felony in her arraignment Thursday. She allegedly stabbed her 12-year-old brother and planned to kill her parents and sister in order to be with 23-year-old boyfriend Michael Rivera. Prosecutors say the ninth-grader stabbed her younger brother, Lukas, in the throat with a knife and tried to stab her younger sister, Angelica, at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 17. Her brother survived and was treated for multiple stab wounds at an area hospital. His screams caused Sikorski to flee with her 23-year-old boyfriend, Michael Rivera, who allegedly stood outside Sikorski's Plymouth Township house to text her instructions during the attack. They were found later at Rivera's home and told police they planned to marry. Her parents have filed a statutory rape complaint against Rivera. - (Black-on-white) |

Former employee among 3 charged in death of man in Seagrove house fire   SEAGROVE, N.C. —A former employee was among three Asheboro people arrested in connection with the death of a man found in a house fire near Seagrove two months ago. Debra Raegan Dorsett, 23, Jesse Levon Martin, 32, and Dannie Deddie Smith, 27, were charged with murder following the death of Elden Kitson Vanderwal, 71. Vanderwal was found dead around 4:20 a.m. August 23 inside his home on Brewer Road, about 10 miles south of Seagrove in Moore County. An autopsy determined Vanderwal had been murdered before the fire was started, Moore County deputies said. The home was destroyed in the fire. The property also includes a business called Lantern Hill Pottery, which Vanderwal ran. Dorsett was formerly employed at Lantern Hill Pottery, and Martin is her boyfriend, deputies said. All three suspects were held without bond in the Moore County Detention Center pending Nov. 25 court appearances. - (Black-on-white) |

Suspect in fatal (black-on-White) Wellford shooting in custody   SPARTANBURG, SC - The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said a man wanted in a fatal shooting Sunday night was taken into custody on Monday. Around 7:45 p.m., deputies were called. Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said a young adult male was found dead at the scene. The coroner identified him as 25-year-old Brandon Soloman Bryant. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Dannie "Boomer" Isaiah Hamilton Jr., 43, of Wellford. Deputies said Hamilton was wanted on charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He was taken into custody on Monday, according to the sheriff's office. Bryant's girlfriend Kristina Whitted said they heard gunshots outside their home so Bryant walked outside to ask the gunman to please stop firing a weapon in an area where there were children. She said Bryant then turned around to go back inside his home when the shooter asked him to come back to the street, that's when she said she heard three shots. - (Black-on-white) |
Nanny cam shows (black) Winter Haven nursing home staff beating (White) Alzheimer's patient, say police  WINTER HAVEN, FL - Two Winter Haven nursing assistants were charged with battery of an elderly person after police say they were captured on video tormenting and hitting a 76-year-old Alzheimer's patient. On Wednesday, Winter Haven Police arrested Yashika Zenobiaha Jones, 28, and Rose Dorlean Blaise, 35, who work at Palm Gardens Nursing Home. Police say an investigation uncovered the abuse on three separate occasions in October. "This egregious behavior from these two who are supposed to be caring for our infirm is absolutely sickening," said Winter Haven Police Chief Charlie Bird. "There is absolutely no reason for any person, especially an elderly Alzheimer patient, to be treating like this and today those two workers are paying for their actions." Police found out about the abuse from Dale Wilson, 53, who is the son of the 76 year-old victim. Wilson made a report to the staff at Palm Gardens Nursing Home in early October after noticing unusual bruising on his father's arms and legs. His father is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's and is unable to communicate. The staff was unable to explain the marks on the patient. - (Black-on-white) |
Black man arraigned for white wife's death  GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI - A man was arraigned on a an open murder charge for the death of his wife on Thursday. Andrew Farley Jr.'s charge comes after Tiffany Cane-Smith Farley's body was found at their home on the 5100 block of Centreville Road in Genesee County's Grand Blanc Township on Sunday night. A gas leak at the home was also discovered. Police were called to the home around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when they found the woman deceased in the home. Andrew Farley was injured inside the home, police said. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Officers said the gas leak may have been caused intentionally. Neighboring homes were evacuated because of the high levels of gas. Tiffany Caine-Smith Farley had several stab wounds to her upper body, police said. Genesee County prosecutor David Leyton said the evidence suggests a fight broke out in the couple's home and Andrew Farley stabbed his wife repeatedly, including a fatal wound to her heart. - (Black-on-white) |

Racist black Muslim Walmart suspect gets nearly 98 years - Faust is black; the four victims are white   A man accused of shooting four people in a Greenville commercial area in 2013 was sentenced to 97 years and eight months in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty in Pitt County Superior Court. Lakim Anthony Faust, 24, pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and seven counts of assault on a law enforcement officer. Law enforcement officers, victims and their families also attended the proceedings. Evidence presented for Jenkins to weigh for sentencing included video from security cameras in the area and from an officer who was wearing a camera. Faust, who has a histroy of mental illness, was experiencing a psychotic episode during the shooting, according to testimony, but understood the consequences of his actions and could not plead insanity. Police said at the time of the crime that he used a shotgun to shoot one man at 11:44 a.m. on June 21, 2013, in the parking lot of Kellum Law Firm on Greenville Boulevard. Then he walked across the street to the Walmart parking lot and allegedly shot three more men at close range before police shot him. The indictments said Faust shot the four men because of their “race, color, religion, nationality, or country of origin.” Faust is black; the four victims are white. A search warrant shows police seized several books on the Muslim faith from Faust’s residence as evidence after the shootings. Tim Edwards, 64, a GEICO insurance adjuster, was outside the law firm when he was shot in his face and left arm through the window of his car. The gunman then walked across Greenville Boulevard, entered Walmart parking lot and sprayed more pellets. Black African Senegalese man confesses to stabbing his white ex-girlfriend to death in Sicilly  Catania, October 27 - A 27-year-old, Senegalese man confessed to murdering his former girlfriend, Veronica Valenti, 30, who was found lifeless in her car Sunday night in the Sicilian city of Catania, ANSA sources said Monday. Gora Mbengue spontaneously admitted to them that he stabbed the woman during a fight, because she refused to resume their relationship following his arrest. Police believe that the murder was premeditated. Mbengue brought the knife with him to an appointment, and he allegedly struck her numerous times on the left side of her abdomen and in the back the moment she refused him. Black Panther hails ax attack on cops     The Muslim extremist who attacked rookie cops with a hatchet last week was “a crusader seeking justice’’ — and more assaults will likely follow, the head of his local New Black Panther Party warned. “It probably won’t be the last [attack on police] because you have a lot of frustrated people out here,” Queens chapter leader Frank Sha Francois told The Post. Francois said ax-wielding Zale Thompson wasn’t officially a member of his group, but he came to meetings and they talked about “police brutality” cases such as Eric Garner and Michael Brown. White female Salvation Army employee quits job after she was attacked at work by drunken black  NORMAN, Okla. – A 64-year-old Salvation Army worker says she quit her job after she was brutally beaten at work. Officials say the attack was captured on surveillance video. Harvey Lee says his wife, Buncie, was working at The Salvation Army in Norman last month when she confronted a man. She says she asked 43-year-old Harold Wright to leave the facility because he was intoxicated and belligerent. That’s when Lee says Wright allegedly punched his wife’s face, throat and ribs. Jury selection begins in (black-on-white) homicide/dismemberment case  Jury selection is scheduled to begin today in Monroe County court for the long-delayed trial of a man charged with killing and dismembering a Scranton woman in 2008. Charles Ray Hicks, 40, is facing a possible death sentence if he’s convicted of first-degree murder for the death of Deanna Null. Parts of Ms. Null’s body were found inside garbage bags strewn along two highways in the Poconos on Jan. 29, 2008. Police identified Mr. Hicks as a suspect after learning Ms. Null, a prostitute, was last seen with him. He was charged in March 2008 after authorities searched his Coolbaugh Twp. home and found her severed hands hidden inside a wall. Mr. Hicks allegedly admitted having a drug-fueled, sexual relationship with Ms. Null, 36. He has maintained his innocence about how she died, claiming it was an accidental drug overdose. Hammer-wielding suspect arrested, 10 people attacked  HENDERSON – A 31-year-old Las Vegas man surrendered to Henderson police Friday night after he attacked 10 people with a sledgehammer in Boulder City and Henderson in a string of attacks. One of the attacks occurred outside a football game at Foothill High School. Damien D. Robins of Las Vegas is being held in the Henderson Detention Center and faces six counts of attempted murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. Black fugitives arrested for 2013 Thunderbolt (black-on-White) double homicide   BEAUFORT CO., SC - Two men wanted for the murder of a Thunderbolt couple in Nov. 2013 have been arrested. The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office located and arrested Michael Donta Jones. Jones was wanted for two counts of felony murder, two counts of malice murder and two counts of aggravated assault which originated from a Nov.2013 investigation by the Thunderbolt Police Department in Georgia. The second suspect was also arrested on Friday for the double homicide. 26-year-old Nathaniel Willy Wilkins was arrested at 9:15 a.m. and is currently being held at the Chatham County Jail. "They were a young couple. They were in love. They liked to have a good time obviously, but they were young. You are supposed to be young and have fun. You're not supposed to lose your life like they did that night," said Chief Robert Marriman, Thunderbolt policeman. Hatchet used in Rocky Creek Mobile Home Park (black-on-White) homicide  AUGUSTA, Ga. --The woman killed at the Rocky Creek Mobile Home Park died of multiple blunt force trauma and drowning due to assault, the Richmond County Coroner's Office said. The Coroner said 33-year-old Emily Anne Newbegin from Martinez was found dead at 308 Carmell Place Monday. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office said the victim was attacked with a hatchet. Richmond County deputies arrested 47-year-old Kenneth William Howard in connection to the homicide. Howard is facing murder and burglary charges. Black man gets life in prison for murder of White soldier, pregnant wife    COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a Fort Carson soldier and his pregnant wife. Macyo January faces life in prison for the two murders, with a possibility of parole after 80 years--40 for each murder. January was found guilty in September of 10 counts, including first-degree murder and first-degree burglary, in connection with the January 2013 murders of Staff Sgt.. David Dunlap and his wife, Whitney Butler. He was charged as an adult, though he was 17 at the time of the murders. January shot and killed Dunlap and Butler when they caught him burglarizing their home. The victims are buried together in Arlington National Cemetery. - (Black-on-white) |

Black 17-year-old arrested in robbery, murder of White worker at Columbia Papa John's   COLUMBIA, Tenn. - A 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday for a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Papa John's employee Monday night. Gordon Schaffer was shot just before 10 p.m. at the restaurant at 1902 Shady Brook St. in Columbia, approximately 50 miles south of Nashville. Darious Fitzpatrick is charged with first degree murder, felony murder and especially aggravated robbery in Schaffer's death. He additionally faces aggravated robbery charges for two separate Dollar General store robberies that took place on Oct. 13 and Oct. 17. Thursday morning, police announced an arrest in the Oct. 17 robbery. Police, however, have not linked 18-year-old Rodney Harvell to the Papa John's murder. Harvell was arrested Wednesday night. Police said Schaffer was shot once in the chest but was conscious and able to tell responding officers he was robbed by two black males. - (Black-on-white) |

Black-on-White Guglielmo slaying: Port Chester neighbor indicted  PORT CHESTER – A former neighbor of murder victim Anthony Guglielmo told detectives that he accidentally stabbed the Port Chester man when he broke into his house to get money after a night of boozing and drug use, The Journal News has learned. Jahkim McGhee, 20, pleaded not guilty Thursday after an indictment was unsealed in Westchester County Court charging him with second-degree murder in the Sept. 11, 2011 slaying. A fingerprint discovered on a side window of Guglielmo's Mortimer Street home was later matched to McGhee, authorities said. That led detectives to interview him this summer at an upstate prison, where he was being held on a grand larceny charge. McGhee initially denied any involvement but then admitted climbing through the window and stabbing Guglielmo as he slept, according to court documents. "He didn't die right away. Police say Darren Vann confessed to killing 36-year-old Kristine Williams, but he has not yet been charged with her murder. CBS 2’s Suzanne Le Mignot spoke with Williams father. Williams says the coroner estimated she had been dead for ten months to a year. “My daughter wasn’t an angel. She is the victim. 4-year-old White girl murdered by her adulterous white mother's black boyfriend had many serious injuries  SEBRING — When 4-year-old Mercedes A. Blair arrived at a local hospital on Tuesday, it was quickly evident that she was severely injured, according to an arrest report released Friday. Dr. Sally Smith, who is identified as being with a child protective team, determined that “Mercedes suffered from numerous bruises to her forehead, both ears, both shoulders, both arms, both legs, chest, back and abdomen. Mercedes suffered damage to her liver and kidneys. The bruising and damage to the organs was caused by blunt force trauma. “Mercedes also suffered from a skull fracture to the crown of her head. The cause of the skull fracture was the result of a high force impact to the head on a broad flat surface. The impact to Mercedes’ head caused her to have brain bleeding and swelling. The entire right side of Mercedes’ brain was hemorrhaging, the report said. And in addition to that, the report notes “the top of Mercedes’ right hand had a healing burn and the hand appeared to be fractured near the thumb. The burn appeared to be inflicted by another person by pouring a hot liquid onto the top of Mercedes’ hand.” The man accused of being responsible for all those injuries, Ivan James Sanders, 28, 3533 County Road 17, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. Tyler (black-on-White) murder suspect sentenced to 35 years in prison  TYLER, TX - A man charged in the stabbing death of a Tyler man has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to 35 years in prison. John Grimes IV, 25, of Tyler, was sentenced Monday in the death of Tony Jeter, 65, of Tyler, according to District Attorney Matt Bingham. Grimes IV was arrested in December on a Capital Murder warrant in connection with Jeter's death. Jeter, who according to his family, had special needs, was found dead at his home on Bow street. "I'll never forget Tony," his half-brother Charles Sanchez said at the time. "Every time I come over here I'll always see him." Sanchez visited Jeter daily, making sure his special needs brother had everything he needed before bed at night. Sentencing delayed for black killer in carwash parking lot slaying of his estranged white girlfriend Sentencing has been delayed for a man convicted in the stabbing death of his estranged girlfriend at a western Pennsylvania carwash a year ago. A Cambria County court agreed to a defense request to put off sentencing for 22-year-old Demetrius Gibson of Johnstown to allow resolution of drug charges, according to the Tribune-Democrat. Gibson was convicted last month of third-degree murder and aggravated assault in the August 2013 slaying of 21-year-old Elizabeth Ann Miller in the parking lot of the Dollar Car Wash in Johnstown. - (Black-on-white) |

Jury comes back with a GUILTY verdict for man accused of murdering girlfriend's parents    AKRON, OH - The Summit County jury deliberating in the trial for Shawn Ford has found the Akron man guilty on two counts of aggravated murder. The panel began deciding the fate of the 18-year-old on Monday and reached a verdict two days later. Ford was on trial for murdering his girlfriend's parents, Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert, in their New Franklin home. They were found beaten to death with a sledgehammer in their Rex Lake Drive home on April 2, 2013. Ford was dating the Schobert's adopted daughter, Chelsea. He is also accused of assaulting Chelsea on March 23, 2013 at a home in Akron. Ford was indicted on numerous charges including aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary,grand theft, and felonious assault. White Columbia Papa John's employee shot, killed during robbery by two killer blacks A Columbia Papa John's employee was shot and killed during a robbery late Monday night. It happened shortly before 10 p.m. at the restaurant on Shady Brook Street. Gordon Schaffer, 22, the employee working behind the counter at the time, suffered at least one gunshot wound but was conscious and able to tell responding officers that two black males robbed him. Schaffer was transported by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he died a short time later. Tragedy as White female veterinarian shot dead in a parking lot feud after her friend threw up on the black suspected gunman's car   A Texas veterinarian was shot dead over the weekend after police say one of her girlfriends threw up next to the suspected gunman's car. According to investigators, 24-year-old Jeffrey Hansana shot Dr Deidra Blackmon, 33, in the head just minutes after she and her girlfriends had a verbal argument with a woman who was with him. Blackmon, of Grapevine, was rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Wayne early Sunday morning, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Hansana, of Haltom City, and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Heather Rene Thompson, of Euless, were arrested Monday. Hansana faces a murder charge, while Thompson will be charged with failure to report a felony. - (Black-on-white) |

2013 fatal stabbing: Black man sentenced to life after plea   MARIETTA — Charles Renard Mahaffey of Marietta received a life sentence for stabbing a 26-year-old man to death with a hunting knife. Mahaffey, 26, pleaded guilty to murdering Christopher Reynolds, on Nov. 25, 2013, after Reynolds attempted to break up a fight between Mahaffey and his girlfriend. On the day of the murder, Reynolds and others nearby confronted Mahaffey after witnessing the defendant abusing his girlfriend outside a house. Reynolds was dating the girlfriend’s sister, so he was acquainted with Mahaffey prior to the incident. Mahaffey stabbed Reynolds twice, once in the abdomen and once in the throat with a large hunting knife. - (Black-on-white) |

New twist in (Black-on-White) Swazi-born murderer case in UK  A damning report into a horrific incident where Swazi-born mentally unstable teenager Phillip Simelane mercilessly stabbed 16-year-old English schoolgirl Christina Edkins to death in England has revealed that the incident could have been avoided had he been attended to timely. The Birmingham Mail has revealed that the stab victim Edkins could have been saved by the United Kingdom (UK)’s mental health services, according to a National Health Report (NHS). Execution Date Set For Convicted Black Delaware Rapist, Murderer of White Coed  WILMINGTON, Del. — A Delaware judge has set a Dec. 4 execution date for a man convicted of raping and killing a University of Delaware student. The judge resentenced James E. Cooke on Monday following the state Supreme Court’s rejection of an appeal in July. The execution date is a formality, however, as a new round of appeals gets under way. The 43-year-old Cooke was convicted of the 2005 murder of 20-year-old Lindsey Bonistall of White Plains, New York. The Delaware Supreme Court overturned Cooke’s first conviction in 2007 because his public defenders, without Cooke’s consent and despite his repeated claims of innocence, argued he was guilty but mentally ill. Black former MTA bus driver charged in mass attack on White family   BALTIMORE —A former Maryland Transit Administration bus driver is facing several charges after a family claimed she got several teens to beat them up after one of the victims got into an argument with her. Former MTA bus driver Karen Murphy left district court in northwest Baltimore on Thursday after her first court appearance to answer to multiple charges of assault and conspiracy. Court documents said she told a group of juveniles to beat up a family of three that was riding on her bus. "She actually let these children get off of this bus and beat me and my family for at least three minutes, then let them get back on, get weapons, get back off and back on again, and then took off with every one of them that did it," victim Kristina Gibson said. Gibson said the incident happened on June 6, when she and her boyfriend, Christopher Fisher, were picking up their son, 9-year-old Logan, from school and were riding the No. 22 bus to Hampden from Greenmount Avenue. . Police estimated that about 15-20 teens converged on the couple. Gibson said the teens beat them and pepper-sprayed them. Black suspect identified in French Quarter beating and robbery caught on camera     One of four people accused by New Orleans police of beating and robbing a French Quarter tourist on camera has been identified after police said he returned the victim's wallet shortly after the attack. Police have issued an arrest warrant for Bruce Jones in connection with the incident, which took place around 4:30 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 12) in the 800 block of St. Louis Street. A nearby security camera recorded the victim being grabbed and slammed to the ground by multiple people who proceeded to kick and punch him repeatedly, police said. Two women watched the attack take place but did nothing to intervene, police said. Police: Black man arrested in fatal apartment stabbing of White woman  DES MOINES, Iowa —A woman critically hurt during a stabbing Wednesday in downtown Des Moines has now died. Crews were called to 700 East 5th Street about 3:15 p.m. The stabbing was reported in an area of apartment buildings north of the East Village area of downtown. An apartment manager at the River Hills Apartments was stabbed inside the complex office. Police said she was stabbed in the upper torso and lost a lot of blood. She was taken to a metro hospital where she died a couple hours later. Police arrested a man near the scene who is reportedly a former resident of the complex. The man who was arrested was identified as Norman Wadsworth, 74. He was taken to the Des Moines Police Department and was charged with first-degree murder and booked into the Polk County Jail. - (Black-on-white) |

Leaders in 2009 fatal (black-on-White) 'knockout' beating begin retrial process    DECATUR – Five years and two months after a group of nine teen friends stomped to death 61-year-old Jerry Newingham and almost killed 46-year-old Kevin Wilson, the group's leaders, Deonta Johnson and his brother Elliott Murphy, are preparing for their second trial. Johnson and Murphy were serving lengthy prison terms when the 4th Appellate Court overturned their convictions last October, citing legal technicalities. This was one of the first “point 'em out, knock 'em out” fatal attacks reported nationwide, in which groups of teens attack strangers to try to knock them out with a single punch. Newingham was riding his bicycle on Sawyer Street near Monroe Street during the afternoon of Aug. 24, 2009, when Johnson punched him in the head, knocking him out and to the ground. Newingham was robbed of his wallet as the mob kicked, punched and stomped on the defenseless Vietnam-era Army veteran. After running off, the mob regrouped about an hour later and attacked Wilson, who they found on a bench in the Garfield Park pavilion. White Man attacked at bus stop near Valencia College by three black men  ORLANDO, Fla. - Christopher Byrn's neck was still swollen 24 hours after he was attacked and robbed of his laptop computer. The attack happened Wednesday around 8:15 p.m. as he sat waiting for the bus outside 1800 Metrocenter Blvd., which is one block off the campus of Valencia College. He said two men approached him and grabbed the computer off of his lap. He said when he tried to run after them, a third man jumped from behind a sign and punched him in the neck. "The cop said it was the carotid artery," Byrn said. "He said it doesn't matter how big you are; you get hit there, you go down. I went down in the bushes. I was down for a couple of minutes." A co-worker saw what had happened and jumped in his car to chase the three men, but lost them in the darkness. Byrn said they also stole his sense of security. "The entire time I was on my way into work today -- I don't like to admit it -- but my hands were shaking the whole time," he said. "I didn't know if I was going to be able to get a lift from anybody to get home tonight. I just didn't want to be there after dark again." Orlando police said they are now looking for three black men who were wearing gym-style clothing. One of them was wearing a yellow shirt, according to Byrn. White New Orleans man survives violent baseball bat attack, robbery attempt in Quarter - one suspect with long dreadlocks  NEW ORLEANS, LA - Three men armed with a baseball bat violently attacked a man in the French Quarter just before 4 a.m. Sunday. The victim said he considers himself street savvy, but the attack on Dauphine near At. Ann tested him like never before. "I've got 12 staples," he said, pointing to the metal clips in his head. This victim said the three were walking in the other direction. "They were walking up, [we] did the nod thing," he said, "and then he cold-cocked me in the head." The attackers took turns hitting the victim. "Two guys were doing the hitting the other was doing the watching," he said. The victim was struck six times. "This wasn't their first time," the victim said. " I probably wasn't the first person they robbed that night." Black Man Arrested For Kicking Dog In The Head, Attacking Owner   UNIONTOWN — A man and his dog are recovering after they were attacked and threatened while out for a walk earlier this week. Fred Hardin, 52, and his dog, Crosby, are a fixture on East Main Street in Uniontown. On Columbus Day, Hardin was off from his job as a parking lot attendant. About 11 a.m., near the courthouse, he and his best friend were taking a walk. That’s when Crosby, who was on a leash, began barking at 20-year-old Tredale Hall. Hall threatened to kick the dog. “I said that’s not polite, you know; why you want to be a punk about it?” said Hardin. Hall kicked Crosby in the head. “So I put the leash down to try to protect me and Crosby,” said Hardin. Lt. Tom Kolencik, of the Uniontown Police, says that’s when Hall attacked Fred from behind. “Pushed him to the ground, started stomping his head, yelling obscenities at him, threats, kicked him, punched him,” said Lt. Toddler's white mother granted black boyfriend custody of her children; Black boyfriend charged in blue-eyed toddler's death     CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services said on Tuesday that the agency never had custody of Li’Asia Moorer, the Cleveland toddler who died on Friday. Moorer’s mother’s boyfriend is charged in her death. “I love her, and I can’t get her back,” said Terrance Trone, Moorer’s father(?). Moorer’s mother, Barbara Wichrowski, used a power of attorney to give her boyfriend, Jason Hull, custody of Moorer. She also gave Hull custody of their newborn baby. Wichrowski is in jail for human trafficking. The baby was pronounced dead on arrival. “There are bruises all over her body, signs of scalding, blisters on the legs and feet, and also signs of sexual abuse.” Hull has a lengthy criminal record that includes trafficking cocaine, felonious assault and domestic violence. Three blacks arrested for beating White man to death during robbery - leaving body in closed carwash  The last time Lisa Borghi spoke to her father, Brian G. DePreta was a month ago to plan his trip to visit her in North Dakota. The body of DePreta, 50, was found Monday by Lexington police inside Premier Car Wash, which had been closed for months. Overcome with grief, Borghi, 26, said during a telephone interview Wednesday that her father loved traveling and fishing. "He was an adventurous soul," she said. According to the Fayette County coroner, DePreta died from blunt-force trauma to the head. Relatives were notified Wednesday morning. No funeral arrangements have been made. On Tuesday, police said detectives had charged Joseph Sledge, 29, and Kavion Thomas, 24, with murder and first-degree robbery. Less than 24 hours later, police charged Thomas G. Lucky, 38, with murder and first-degree robbery. Police also said Teresa Jarrett, 26, was wanted for questioning. Sledge, Thomas and Lucky beat DePreta with their fists "multiple times" and took his wallet; detectives found the wallet near the car wash. - (Black-on-white) |

White double amputee brutally beaten, in ICU at Macon Medical Center - black employee arrested  ALBANY, GA - A Cordele business owner is being treated for serious injuries at Macon Medical Center after investigators say he was severely beaten and robbed by one of his own employees. We talked with a friend who runs a business near Dennard's Exchange Mart in Cordele who say they are praying for his recovery and hope the man who did this violent crime is brought to justice. The doors of Exchange Mart, which Eugene Dennard owns and runs, are locked while Dennard remains hospitalized in Macon. Dennard gave Willie Telfair, one of his own employees, a ride home Friday. That's when Crisp County Law enforcers say Telfair brutally attacked Dennard and robbed him. "We do see a lot of terrible things happen to people but this is a very violent crime and it always puts a knot in your gut when you see this," says criminal investigator Robert Rodgers. He brought his body to the dead end of Blackshear road. Luckily a couple who was hunting found his body in a ditch. "They come out of the woods to leave to go home and saw something move in the ditch across from where they were at, they went over to investigate thinking it was an injured animal and they found Mr. Dennard in the ditch," says Rodgers. Black ex-con arrested for filing fake deed to steal elderly White woman’s home  He may soon be living for free behind bars. The ex-con who allegedly filed a fake deed to steal an elderly woman’s Queens home was arrested Tuesday in Housing Court, where he was brazenly fighting eviction. Darrell Beatty, 49, was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property for allegedly illegally transferring the deed of a Laurelton home into his name and moving in with his two sons. The alleged scheme could send Beatty to prison for more than 15 years. It was sweet relief for Jennifer Merin, whose family bought the house in 1930. “I heard the words, ‘You’re under arrest,’ and I [thought], ‘Thank God,’ ” said Merin, who saw sheriffs take Beatty into custody in a hallway. - (Black-on-white) |

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of St. Louis. A passerby is stopped by a group of men and pushed up against a wall. As the victim attempts to flee, he is thrown to the ground. Multiple men kick and punch the man while he's down. Police state that the suspects stole the victim's wallet and cell phone. The victim tells police one of the suspects was armed with a black handgun. Detectives were able to obtain surveillance video of the incident. Four (black) teens charged with attempted homicide, robbery of two (White) state lawmakers   Four teenagers have been charged with attempted homicide and robbery of two state representatives late Tuesday night in Harrisburg, according to police. Jamani Ellison, 17; Jyair Leonard, 15; Derek Anderson, 17 and Zha-quan McGhee, 15, have been charged with attempted homicide, conspiracy, robbery, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering and carrying a firearm without a license, according to a news release issued by police in Harrisburg. House Democratic Caucus spokesman Bill Patton said that state Rep. Marty Flynn, D-Scranton, and state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, were walking from the Capitol to the house they stay in when they were approached by their assailants. Police said one of the teens pointed a gun at the head of Bizzarro, moments before the suspects and Flynn exchanged gunfire. Crazy homeless black man accused of stabbing two Boston park rangers had bizarre, violent history The homeless man who allegedly stabbed two Boston park rangers on Boston Common, injuring one critically, suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, his defense attorney said Wednesday at his arraignment. “He struggles every day to know what’s his reality,” said Shannon Lopez. Bodio S. Hutchinson, 34, was ordered held on $1 million bail after pleading not guilty in Boston Municipal Court to charges of armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on a public employee. Hutchinson has a history of bizarre and violent behavior, including incidents in which he has attacked and bitten people, court records show. Black Man Gets Life In Prison In Killing Of Elderly White Neighbor While Out On Parole   PONTIAC - A Novi man who was convicted of murdering his 84-year-old neighbor while he was out on parole for another killing will spend the rest of his life behind bars. An Oakland County jury deliberated for a little more than an hour in September before returning its verdict against 47-year-old Peter Gerard Jones. The Detroit Free Press reports he was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the chance for parole — the mandatory term for first-degree murder. Bernice Schaufele’s body was found Jan. 13 in her home in the 20900 block of West Glen Haven Circle at the Country Place condo complex, located near 8 Mile and Meadowbrook roads, about 20 miles northwest of Detroit. Schaufele’s daughter found the body when she’d come to check on her mother after she failed to show up for a doctor’s appointment. Authorities say Jones, who lived two doors down from Schaufele, strangled and stabbed her and then stole money and jewelry to buy crack cocaine. - (Black-on-white) |

Dondre Williams, 22, was arrested Monday morning and is charged with murder in the Sept. 12 shooting death of Mark Anthony Horton. Horton, 49, was attempting to stop what he believed was a robbery in progress in the 700 block of Frankie Street when Williams allegedly shot him. Police: Percy Street homicide result of drug deal gone bad  CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC - A Percy Street homicide on Friday afternoon was the result of a drug deal gone bad, according to Charleston Police. On Saturday, police arrested 19-year-old Ahshaad Owens and 20-year-old Phillip Jewel II, both of North Charleston, in connection with the fatal shooting. Police say Owens is charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; and Jewell is charged with murder and armed robbery. Police say the pair, along with 19-year-old Jarrod Howard, of Hanahan, agreed to meet on Percy Street to conduct a drug transaction. At about 4 p.m. during the transaction, a shot was fired and Howard died at the hospital of his injuries. The Charleston County Coroner says Howard died of a gunshot wound. Newlywed's life cut short; family blames parole board  Tragically, Fransesca Vitale Weatherhead's life was cut short. The 25-year-old newlywed and former homecoming queen was killed in a car crash Monday that involved a parolee fleeing Livonia police. They were pursuing him for an attempted home invasion when, police say, he ran a red light and broadsided Weatherhead's car at 6 Mile and Beech Daly, killing her. Her family now is demanding answers. They want to know why the suspect — a habitual offender whose crimes include home invasion, weapons violations, drug possession and larceny — was paroled to begin with. He was paroled in May, five years after he was sentenced to 4-20 years in prison for home invasion and drug possession. Group wants 2 Supreme Court justices removed after Carr sentences overturned     WICHITA, KS - It was a brutal crime that rocked the city of Wichita and has gone down as one of the worst crimes in state history. Fourteen years ago, two brothers were accused of going on a crime spree of murder, assault, rape and robbery, killing five people in the brutal attacks. Two years later, Reginald and Jonathan Carr were tried, convicted and sentenced to death, but recently the Kansas Supreme Court overturned their death penalty sentences and some convictions. Now there is a movement to have two Supreme Court justices removed from the bench following their decision on the case. "Took our breathe away. We were all completely shocked and devastated again that it felt like we were going back to that day," Amy James said. That day for James dates back to December 2000 and is considered one of the worst in the history of Kansas as the Carr brothers wrapped up the brutal crime spree. Brad Heyka was one of five victims who were assaulted, tortured and taken to a frozen field where they were shot execution style and run over with a truck.The Carr brothers were convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. But 14 years after their murderous spree, the Kansas Supreme Court overturned their death penalties, stating the trial judge should have separated their penalty proceeding. Several convictions were also overturned. James and other victims' family members were at the Kansas Supreme Court when the appeal arguments were being heard last December. “What really upset me was how the justices talked about it like they were talking about the weather. They were very arrogant," she said. With the six-to-one ruling to overturn the death penalty, the family and friends have formed the group Kansans for Justice. They are urging voters not to retain Kansas Supreme Court Justices Eric Rosen and Lee Johnson in the Nov. 4 election. "Help us remove those two justices so that we can hopefully put new people in place who will move cases along," James said. James said putting the surviving victim through another trial is criminal itself and believes it's time to focus on the victims who lost their lives and not the monsters who took them. - (Black-on-white) |
