Site set up to help widow of White Marine killed by black in Lexington shooting LEXINGTON, Ky. - Police are still searching for a man involved in a shooting Friday night that left a Marine dead and his wife injured. Friends say 26-year-old Jonathan Price and his wife were out celebrating his wife's birthday at Austin City Saloon on Woodhill Drive in Lexington on Friday, but the celebrations took a tragic turn as the couple walked through the parking lot back to their car. Lexington Police say around 1:30 a.m. the two were approached by a gunman who asked them for money and then friends say the unthinkable happened. "They had guns to their heads, shots rang out. Then he went to try and protect her and he was shot in the back," said family friend Pam Newton. Jonathan died a short time later at UK hospital where we're told his wife is recovering from non life-threatening injuries. The couple, who was from Versailles, was getting ready to celebrate their one year wedding anniversary. "We were at his wedding last August and amazed at how crazy in love he was with his new bride. So excited about his new life together with her," said family friend Roger Newton. As they come to terms with this unthinkable tragedy, loved ones now want to know who is behind this random and senseless act of violence that took away a son, a husband and a best friend to many. "Hit us really hard because we knew him his whole life and watched him grow up and we're so proud of the type of young man he became," said Roger Newton. The victim identified the shooter as a black male with dreadlocks, and a white t-shirt. A gofundme.com site has been set up in Megan Price's name with a goal of raising $5,000 by her friends. Daycare shut down, black teacher arrested after White child burned HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- The state ordered a daycare center to shut down on Friday, declaring that children there are in imminent danger. The order stems from the investigation of the daycare, Discovering Basics and the arrest of one of the daycare center's teachers on a felony charge of child cruelty. It's the latest in the case of a Hall County toddler who was severely burned last week. On Friday, sheriff's investigators backed up the mom's story that the child was burned while he was at the daycare the previous Friday, June 13. For sheriff's investigators, there is no doubt about what happened to 16-month-old Damon Gaddis, and where it happened to him. "These injuries did occur at the daycare," said Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes, "And, more specifically, they occurred shortly after he arrived at the daycare" that morning. Damon somehow suffered second- and third-degree burns, from scalding water. He is facing multiple surgeries. At about 12:30 Friday, June 20, the Sheriff arrested Damon's teacher, Eddye Pittmon, 55, accusing her of one felony count of child cruelty in the first degree for not getting Damon treatment for the burns right away -- or ever. - (Black-on-white) |

Smith: Media made a big deal of Childress shooting 'because she's white' COLUMBIA, SC - The man charged in the Five Points shooting that injured a University of South Carolina student said the media was making a big deal out of the case because the victim was white. Michael Juan Smith was sentenced to the maximum 10 years in federal court Friday. In February he pleaded guilty to possessing a weapon as a felon, admitting possessing a pistol that was taken across state lines before it was stolen in Richland County. Smith still faces state charges related to the shooting. If convicted on those charges, he must serve the 10-year federal sentence in addition to what time he receives from the state. Smith was charged with assault and battery and several weapons-related charges after the shooting in Five Points in 2013 that left Martha Childress paralyzed. Friday, prosecutors played audio recordings of Smith's jail conversations, who said the media was making a big deal about the case "because she's white." "I didn't try to shoot that d__n b___h," said another recording. As she heard this, Childress cried and asked for a facial tissue. - (Black-on-white) |

Police: Assaulted White Ferndale man may be victim of ‘knockout game’ attack by two feral blacks A Ferndale man was sucker punched and briefly lost consciousness as he walked along Woodward with a male friend in what police say may have been a “knockout game” attack by two strangers. The so-called knockout game involves an attacker who targets a victim and tries to the knock the person unconscious with a single punch. Nationally, there is some dispute whether the “game” is a real crime trend or the result of some media hype. The victim was identified as Edward Ewing, 53, by friends, who are working to raise money for his medical bills at youcaring.com. Ewing, who works at a local salon, does not have medical insurance. In the Ferndale case, police said the victim was walking with another man, 36, on Woodward near Wordsworth about 12:30 a.m. Monday. “They were returning to the victim’s house from White Castle,” said Ferndale Police Sgt. Patrick Jones. “Two black males ran up to them and one of them punched the victim on the left side of his face.” He suffered a concussion, a broken jaw, chipped teeth, cuts and bruises. The man who was with the victim told police the two men involved in the attack laughed and ran off. The two men involved in the attack are described as black, 19 to 25 years old. - (Black-on-white) |

Reno Motel Killing Suspect Previously Paroled for Murder A man who was arrested after police say he told them he killed a woman Sunday at a Reno motel had been released from prison in September after serving more than 20 years for the murder of his fiancee in southern Nevada. The Nevada Board of Parole granted 61-year-old Zollie Edward Dumas parole last June 17 effective Sept. 1. Reno police say Dumas was booked into the county jail on a parole violation Sunday after authorities say he told them he killed a woman at the Lucky Motel on East Fourth Street. Police say they were called there about noon on a report of a domestic dispute. Dumas was convicted of the 1988 stabbing death of Angela Griffin of Henderson. The Nevada Supreme Court overturned that conviction in 1995 because his attorney failed to argue his limited mental capacity made it impossible for him to commit first-degree murder. Dumas pleaded guilty in 1997 to second-degree murder and had been in prison for that crime until his release last fall. - (Black-on-white) |

Toronto black man sought in fatal shooting of White man Douglas Parker Toronto police are casting a wide net in their search for a suspect accused of a fatal shooting that also left two others wounded last month. Det. Joyce Schertzer updated the media about the killing of Douglas Parker, a 20-year-old man who was fatally shot on the evening of May 24. The shooting occurred at about 8:50 p.m. that night. "He’d arrived at the location in the company of friends by taxi. He was killed almost immediately after his arrival," Schertzer said. Parker was hit several times in "the chest area," while his friends were also shot. Schertzer said the investigation has determined that Parker was targeted in the shooting, which she said stemmed from a pre-existing dispute involving several parties. Judge struggles with confession conflict in West Palm Beach Chick fil-A murder retrial WEST PALM BEACH — When prosecutors in 2003 convinced a jury that Otto Wright killed an 18-year-old night manager at Chick-fil-A restaurant in the now defunct Palm Beach Mall, their main evidence was his confession, which they insisted was “absolutely truthful.” However, in that confession, Wright never mentioned Jesse Lee Miller, who is to be tried next week for the execution-style murder of Nicholas Megrath. In fact, in his confession, Wright implicated two other men, who were never charged with the 1999 murder of the Forest Hill High School senior. The issues raised at the pre-trial hearing underscore the convoluted history of the murder that shocked the community both because of its viciousness and the tender age of the victim. The trial, that is to begin Monday with jury selection, will be the fifth Megrath’s family has had to endure. Since Wright’s conviction, additional testing uncovered Miller’s DNA on a ski mask that was left behind after Megrath was duct-taped to a chair and shot in the head. There is also evidence that Miller, who worked at Chick-Fil-A with Megrath, wanted revenge. Miller was fired after Megrath reported he was stealing money from the till. - (Black-on-white) |

Court rejects appeal in teenager’s murder Convicted killer Deandre Clark’s appeal of his conviction and sentence in the death of Ryan Satterfield has been denied. The Oklahoma Criminal Court of Appeals ruled against Clark on Monday. Clark sought to get his conviction and life sentence overturned because of “numerous errors” in the trial, according to court documents. The appeals court found that any errors did not add up to Clark receiving an unfair trial, taint the jury’s verdict or “render sentencing unreliable.” Clark was one of six defendants who were convicted of or pleaded guilty to Satterfield’s murder. Satterfield, 17, was killed on Nov. 23, 2011 — Thanksgiving eve — during a robbery at a home in the 1500 block of East Okmulgee Avenue. - (Black-on-white) |

Woman attacked, robbed in Oakland's Temescal District by black OAKLAND, Calif. — A woman walking alone at the dinner hour was jumped, beaten and robbed just around the corner from string of popular restaurants in Oakland’s Temescal District Monday. Neighbors say the attack at 48th Avenue and Shattuck has become symptomatic of a growing crime problem in the area. Lucky for the victim a man walking to his car with his daughter saw the attack and scared the suspects off. Mark Sommer said, “The first thing I did was to shout as powerfully as I could… ‘No! Stop! Get Away!’” His daughter, Maya, said she saw two people huddling over the victim, throwing fists at her. Mark Sommer said years ago he witnessed a similar attack and had said nothing out of fear for his own safety, but Monday night he found the courage to speak up. "What if it had been my daughter? So I really feel glad that this time I didn't withhold," he said. The two robbers scared off by Sommer, ran down Shattuck with the woman’s purse and cell phone and jumped into an awaiting car. One nearby resident, who asked to not be identified, said thieves have been targeting this same stretch of Shattuck from 46th to 49th Avenue. "Three to four times a day we're seeing people casing cars and breaking in,” they said. “We’re calling it in to the police every time and they are stretched very thin and so they often aren’t able to show up for at least half an hour.” Walking down the street, KTVU crews found plenty of broken glass. After Monday’s attack residents, who already had concerns about the rash of car break-ins, say they have new concerns about walking down the street. "It makes me feel pretty helpless, that they know that they can get away with it," the same resident said. - (Black-on-white) |

Caught On Camera: White Drexel Hill Man Punched In The Face By Black 'Youth' At Trolley Stop UPPER DARBY, Pa. - A man sitting at a trolley stop in Drexel Hill is punched in the face, and it’s all caught on camera. "It's a real shame that something like this could take place," said the victim. The victim does not want to be identified, but wants his story told. He says he was just minding his own business at the Burmont and Morgan trolley stop last week when about six teens came up to him. "It's a feeling to me that I know it wasn't personal. I know, I don't do anything to anybody," he said. The video shows the attacker standing around for several seconds before striking the man in the face. "It could have been worse because they did hit me with glasses on, and they could have sent my glasses right into my eyes," said the victim. "I take anxiety medicine and it was quite a setback." Upper Darby Police are calling the incident yet another in the popular 'Knockout Game' where people are punched out of the blue while someone else records it. Police also believe one of the suspects posted the video on Facebook for the world to see. “Extremely disappointing about how the world's changed since I’ve known it," the victim said. The Upper Darby Police Department says they are very close to identifying the attacker. According to police, more information will be released this week. - (Black-on-white) |
Witnesses describe Arcata double homicide scene - sexually aggressive black accused of murdering two Whites A man who was in an Arcata home last May at the time of a double shooting testified in court on Friday about the first frantic moments, describing how he used a towel to apply pressure to Alan "Sunshine" Marcet's chest as the wounded man was gasping for breath. "I recall him saying, 'I'm dying,'" Nicholas "Eeyore" Page testified while being asked to recount the events of May 18, 2013, by Deputy District Attorney Elan Firpo in the fifth week of the double murder trial. Bodhi Tree is accused of fatally shooting Marcet and Eureka High School senior Christina Schwarz, as well as attempting to murder Rhett August outside a Eureka apartment a few days earlier. Witness Nicholas "Eeyore" Page testified that he saw Marcet and Schwarz lying on the ground when he entered the living room. "They both had bloody wounds on their torso," Page said. "Christina's eyes were opened and glazed. Her shirt was in disarray, exposing her breasts." Tree introduced himself as "C Nasty," Page testified. Witnesses testified Tree was beat up for acting in a sexually aggressive manner toward a woman during a party at August's Eureka apartment a few days prior to both the attempted murder and the double murders. Housemate Emma Lorenc said she didn't meet Tree until he came to the Eye Street home. Black Teen acquitted in Bremerton attack; White victim says police botched probe BREMERTON — A 14-year-old boy accused of violently attacking a Bremerton woman was found not guilty Tuesday. The boy is now out of jail but the victim in the case, Jordan Monasmith, is terrified he could attack someone else. Monasmith now blames the Bremerton Police Department for botching the investigation. “The state has not proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt and therefore the finding of this court must be not guilty,” said Superior Court Judge Leila Mills. Monasmith could be seen shaking her head when she learned that her alleged attacker was about to be set free. “I’m absolutely disgusted by the procedures following the event and how the Bremerton Police Department handled it,” said Monasmith, who insists that she was brutally attacked by the 14-year-old while jogging last month. Detention officers washed the boys clothing, potentially destroying key evidence. - (Black-on-white) |

Black Garden Grove man gets death for execution-style slaying of two White people so he could steal a car SANTA ANA — A Garden Grove man was sentenced to death Friday for the murders of a Stanton sales associate and his secretary. Hilbert Pineil Thomas, 43, was found guilty in February of two felony counts of special circumstances murder for multiple murders, murder during the commission of robbery, and murder during the commission of burglary. Thomas entered Golden Sun Homes on Beach Boulevard and shot Matthew Scott Francis and Elizabeth Ann Palmer execution-style in the head. Thomas then fled the scene in Palmer’s Lexus sedan. After months of searching for Palmer’s car, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department located it on Oct. 24, 2009 at the El Dorado Inn on Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim. “In an unrelated case, Thomas was served with a protective order by OCSD on Oct. 13, 2009, barring him from having contact with his ex-wife after having set her car on fire in Los Angeles County. As a term of the protective order, Thomas was ordered to turn over all of his firearms to law enforcement.” A few days later, Thomas turned over a firearm to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to comply with the protective order. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department then determined that Thomas had been driving Palmer’s car and begin investigating him in the double murder. Detectives learned he had recently surrendered a gun to the LACSD and that weapon was later determined to be the same firearm used in the murders. - (Black-on-white) |

Jasmine Dottin and Daniel Henry both pleaded guilty today to multiple charges, including second degree murder. It's been 18 months since Joshua Proutey was murdered in downtown Wilmington. Two blacks kidnapped a White woman - took her in trunk of car to desterted place - shotgunned her in face MOBILE, Alabama – Isaac Isahas Washington and Dwayne Maguay Pettaway kidnapped and took Tammy Stokes, in the trunk of their car, out to a deserted piece of property in Grand Bay, put a shotgun to her face and pulled the trigger.Washington thought Stokes had, as a confidential informant for police, shared information about a relative of his. Her killer was sentenced to consecutive life sentences. In May, after Circuit Court Judge Ben Brooks declared a mistrial in the first murder trial, a second jury convicted Isaac Washington of killing Stokes in the spring of 2008. The case was cold for more than three years before Washington, 36, and co-defendant Dwayne Maguay Pettaway were arrested and charged with the 24-year-old mother of two's death. On Tuesday, Stokes' daughters were in court and in a letter addressed the man Blackwood said put a shotgun to their mother's face and pulled the trigger. In addition to "Why did you kill our mom," and "she was the key to our hearts," Jasmine and Alexcia Bush wrote, "We don't like evel and cruel people like you." Blackwood read the letter in court, just before asking Brooks to sentence him in a way that would guarantee, even if the Legislature changed the laws on parole, Washington would live out his life behind bars. "He should never see the outside world again," Blackwood told the judge. Cherry Stokes was somewhat disappointed at the outcome. "I really wanted to watch him die," Stokes said. "But, maybe being caged like an animal is good enough. - (Black-on-white) |

(Feral Black) Teen Violence: Racial assaults a national problem CINCINNATI -- Teen mobs at city events is not a Cincinnati thing, and it's been going on for years. Evidence of teen violence goes back to the Wisconsin State Fair in 2011, Philly, Chicago and spring 2014 in Louisville. They all have in common the attacks are by black, teenaged boys and girls. And most of the victims are white. The race factor is not something officials like to talk about. One UC criminology professor says that silence could be deadly. To some who called 911, the race factor was obvious. 11 victims filed reports saying they were kicked, punched or stomped by a group of black teenagers or young adults, boys and girls. Ten of the victims were white, one was Asian. Two reported racial slurs. Noelle Findlay was so certain the assault was racially motivated; the police report says hate crime. At 12th and Clay, Noelle says about 15 teenagers stepped in front of the car her husband was driving, "Everyone swarmed the car; I was like, 'Go, go, go, get us out of here.'" Noelle's husband, Chad Findley, told Local 12 News, "I had my window down four or five inches, he punched me in the left side of the face, someone else was on my wife's side." He said, "They were laughing the whole time having a great time" Noelle Findley used to live in Over-The-Rhine. Her job was about helping mostly young black men find careers. She filed the police report as a hate crime because she believes there was no other motive. "I feel like it needs to be addressed, people need to speak out say something not sweep it under the rug," Noelle said. Dr. John Wright, a criminal justice professor at UC, said, "I think it is racist behavior, racist behavior when you target a group based on their race, sexual orientation, it's the very nature of a hate crime." - (Black-on-white) - (Hatecrimes) |

Black Stepfather stabbed White Loveland stepson to death John Cainion struggled with a drug problem and his temper. While those in his church praised him for his big heart, his family said Cainion was an irrational addict whose paranoia and anger caused him to stab his stepson to death. He went to prison for that. The judge sent Cainion, 50, of Loveland, to prison for 11 years, the maximum for his manslaughter conviction. Cainion was originally charged with murder for stabbing Cody Sullivan to death Dec. 19 in Cainion's Loveland apartment. Prosecutors dropped the murder charge, which carried a potential life sentence, in exchange for Cainion pleading guilty to manslaughter. Sullivan, 26, was stabbed in the back while arguing with Cainion, his mother's husband. "Oh Lord, have mercy, Jesus. What was I supposed to do?" Cainion asked Wednesday, in a tearful statement. Cainion was married to Sullivan's mother in what police said was a volatile relationship. - (Black-on-white) |

White disabled veteran mugging victim in a wheelchair describes attack: 'They left me for dead..laughing as they ran away' A disabled Vietnam veteran returning home from a meeting at a downtown Riverhead church Sunday night says he was beaten and robbed by "at least" four men near the railroad tracks. Gene Lyons, 61, had left Riverhead United Methodist Church and was riding his motorized scooter about 10:30 p.m. when, he says, he was jumped from behind, thrown to the ground and pummeled with "sticks or pipes" by a group of young men, who stole $84 in cash and prenoscription medications. "They left me for dead in the road, laughing as they ran away down the tracks," On Monday morning, he went to Peconic Bay Medical Center's ER, where he was treated for injuries to his head, torso, right arm and both legs. ER staff urged him to report the incident to police, which he did after he got home from the hospital. "They grabbed me from behind, pulled me off my scooter and threw me to the ground and started wailing on me," Lyons said yesterday, grimacing in pain as he spoke. He said he tried his best to protect his head and face with his arms while they hit him with sticks or pipes. He couldn't tell which, he said. It was dark and he couldn't really see his attackers. He counted four males, all of them in their teens or early 20s. They were all dark-skinned, he said. One had "a lot of hair, like an afro but messy," he said. That was all he saw. "It was terrifying," he said. "I was helpless." - (Black-on-white) |

Black Bay City teen gets up to 10 years in prison for bludgeoning White man in near-homicide case BAY CITY, MI — A Bay City teenager is going to spend up to a decade in prison for bludgeoning a man with a mallet, an incident that a judge and assistant prosecutor said nearly proved fatal. Bay County Chief Circuit Judge Kenneth W. Schmidt on Monday, June 9, sentenced 17-year-old Terrence L. Conklin to 20 months to 10 years in prison on a charge of assault with intent to cause harm less than murder. Conklin pleaded no contest to the charge in April. A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt, but is treated as such for the purposes of sentencing Schmidt also ordered Conklin to pay a total of $34,455 in fines, costs and restitution and gave him credit for 15 days served. The sentence stems from Conklin on May 13, 2013, striking 28-year-old Ryan W. Zwiefka in the head with a mallet in Baytown Family Neighborhood on Bay City's East Side. Zwiefka suffered severe injuries as a result, including a depressed skull fracture, a subarachnoid bleed, an orbital fracture and multiple other facial fractures. - (Black-on-white) |

He said he was returning home from the Texas Bar, where he said he drank one beer. “I was heading the wrong way down a one-way street, and a car came out of nowhere,” said Szczerbinski, who was interviewed as he prepared to undergo surgery for an eye socket fracture sustained in the beating. “I got out to check on what happened, and three guys (from the other vehicle) got mad and started kicking my (expletive),” Szczerbinski said. “They were hollering, ‘White (expletive)’ while they were hitting me.” Szczerbinski said his attackers kicked, hit and spit on him, and that one of his attackers said he was angry because his fist was swollen from hitting him. Black suspect arrested in brutal beating, rape of White woman in White Center SEATTLE — A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Oklahoma for the brutal beating and rape of a 58-year-old woman in the White Center area in March. The King County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges of first-degree rape and first-degree assault against Christopher Anthony Brown. It said he already has felony convictions in Oklahoma for first-degree burglary, aggravated assault and better on an Office of Juvenile Affairs employee and second-degree burglary. DNA evidence collected at the scene of the crime led police to the suspect, who apparently had been visiting King County from Oklahoma when the assault and rape were committed. Brown was visiting Seattle between January and mid-April and was staying two blocks from where the rape occurred. He first propositioned the victim and asked her if she would have sex with him for $40. She tried to walk away, but detectives say he grabbed her around the neck from behind, choked her until she was almost unconscious, lifted her off her feet and dragged her into a dark, secluded lot. He allegedly told the victim not to make any sounds or scream he would “kill her” and “shoot her.” She told investigators he ordered her to call him “Antoine” or “Anton.” - (Black-on-white) |
Black Half brothers get 25 to life for role in Waterville murder of White man TOLEDO, OH - Two half brothers, who took plea deals in a Waterville murder last week, were sentenced. Phillip Allen and James Allen both pleaded guilty to one count of compliancy to commit aggravated murder. The two admitted they were involved in the May 2013 home invasion and murder of James Safadi. In return, the other charges, including murder, were dropped. The demeanor of the pair was disturbing before, and even during, sentencing. They were seen joking around and laughing, all while the victim's brother, fiance, and father watched on. Both Allen brothers were sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years. Safadi's family had a hard time accepting the fact that the Allen brothers could get out of prison after 25 years, but the prosecutor said if this case went to trial, the result would have most likely been the same. Two other men, Adam Anderson and Ronald Rooker, have already taken plea deals in the case. Safadi's girlfriend told officials three males broke into their home, stealing an undisclosed amount of money and a ring off her finger. According to a source close to the investigation, seven handguns were also stolen, along with a large amount of ammunition. - (Black-on-white) |

Black woman said "I Kill White People Like You" when asked to turn off her cell phone Following takeoff from Nashville Sunday afternoon, a United Airlines passenger warned a fellow flyer that, “I kill white people like you” when she was asked to turn off her cell phone, investigators allege. The disruption on Flight 4205, which was bound for Houston, resulted in the Embraer 135’s return to Nashville’s airport, where Lashonda Lee Williams was arrested for assault. The 43-year-old Williams, seen at right, was asked by another female passenger to “turn off her cell phone due to the aircraft being in flight,” according to a court affidavit. In reply, Williams allegedly said, “I kill white people like you.” Investigators noted that Williams told the other passenger, K. Colleen Coult, 50, that she would follow her upon reaching Houston “and find out where she lived.” The comments “created fear in Coult for her safety,” the affidavit notes. - (Drudge link) - (Black-on-white) |
