This comes after a request for bail was denied earlier this evening. We are told Brown showed up to Juvenile Court Monday and agreed to represent someone pro bono in a child support case. Juvenile Court Magistrate Harold Horne denied Brown’s request for the case to be dismissed. Brown then reportedly lost control and became verbally abusive saying in part, “On what authority do you sit by the way? As a former judge here, we have a rule in the 30th judicial district that says every single magistrate, referee has to be unanimously approved by every circuit, chancery, and criminal court judge. I don’t recall that your name’s ever been submitted sir!” Horne warned Brown to calm down, but he did not. |

Billy Crane’s 15-year-old daughter has a black eye and a busted lip. “The mother runs up and is cussing me in my face and at the time, the little kids just ran around and up in the house,” said Crane. “I was stunned. I was like what? In my house? Then the mama followed in behind them.” Police say Thomas joined in on the beating of the 15-year-old. Billy says he struggled to get her and the rest of girls out of his house. “I got scratches all over my neck and back.” Billy says after the girls beat up his daughter, they came outside and one of them grabbed a brick and threw it at him. “I saw it out it of the corner of my eye, a brick coming and just tried to dodge it.” The brick hit him in the arm, leaving a yellowing bruise. White Woman attacked by (BLACK) mob of teens says she was scared for her life LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A woman punched in the face by a teenage boy during a string of assaults and robberies in downtown Louisville tells WDRB she was scared for her life and the lives of her children. Viola Loeffler and her boyfriend were nearing a stoplight downtown Saturday night when all of a sudden, they say a mob of teenagers surrounded their car. The scariest part? They had five children with them. "This is like something out of a movie. I've never seen anything like this before," said Loeffler. It was around 8 p.m. Saturday when Viola Loeffler says she and her family were attacked at the intersection at First and Liberty. "Right before we got to the stoplight, we noticed about 50 to 100 teens coming to the middle of the street. It was a one-way street so we couldn't go any further. All of a sudden, one of them throws a garbage can on our car," said Loeffler. Loeffler says after that, the situation quickly escalated. Her boyfriend, Ron Carter, was in the driver's seat and stopped the car to see what was going on. They say when he got out, the teens moved in on him. "All of a sudden, I'm getting attacked." Meanwhile, Loeffler and her five children were still inside the car. "At that point , I jump in the driver's seat. I hear them throwing rocks at my car. The rocks were hitting the kids inside of the car," said Loeffler. "Survival mode, and I tried to analyze the situation as quick as possible and figure out the safest way to get everyone safe," said Carter. Loeffler says she couldn't speed away because they were surrounded by the group of teens and she didn't want to run them over. That's when she says one of them attacked her. "The boy comes out of nowhere, punches me in my eye, knocks me out. I had blood coming from everywhere. I was just freaking out. It did hurt, really bad. It scared me," Loeffler said. She says the next moments were a blur but somehow, Loeffler, Carter and all five kids made their way to Bader's Food Mart and were able to get to safety until police got there. "All I kept thinking about was the kids," she said. Loeffler says her children, all under the age of 12, witnessed everything. "One of my kids, she needs counseling. She's been having nightmares these past few days, waking up shaking and crying. There needs to be better guidance for these kids around here. I'm very glad that we're alive." Investigators say the attack on Carter and Loeffler is among 17 confirmed incidents from Saturday night. - (Black-on-white) |

Chance encounter with concealed handgun license holder saves White woman from black robber DALLAS -- There is constant sound and motion at DART’s Convention Center Station, and it’s one of Kim Lanphere’s regular stops. "I use DART 30-to-40 times a week," she said. "At most stations, I feel relatively safe, because there’s light and people." But as of Saturday, her feeling of safety is gone. Dallas police say she passed 23-year-old Jamail Koroma on a sidewalk near the station. "I felt him change his gait, and at the time I had by bag here," she said, motioning by her side, "and I put it on my shoulder, just to hold it safe." He not only made Lanphere nervous, but another witness, too. A second woman was near the station Saturday evening, and asked us to hide her identity. "I was like, 'I don’t feel good about this guy. Something’s not right with this,'" the witness said. Their instincts were dead on. "The next thing I know, he goes, 'Lady, I’ve got a gun, give me your bag!'" Lanphere said. They struggled, and in those panicked seconds, our witness ran over to help and changed everything. "When he said, 'I’ll shoot you,' then it was, we’re in real danger right now," she said. "I just pulled my gun and said, 'Drop it.'" She has a concealed handgun license, and when she pointed her Glock at Koroma, he ran. He took all of Lanphere’s money, but no one was hurt, thanks to a moment from earlier that morning. - (Black-on-white) |

Black man charged with sexual assault claims woman consented to sex as he uses his appearance as his defence A man charged with kidnapping, robbing and sexually assaulting a woman has claimed it couldn't have been rape... because he is so handsome. Darrious Mathis had managed to persuade a member of a jury in Marietta, Georgia, that his alleged victim must have consented to sex with him on account of his good looks. His claim resulted in an 11-1 hung jury after nearly four days of deliberation back in September, forcing the judge to declare a mistrial. But prosecutors successfully applied for a retrial which began this week, and yesterday the woman shared her story with another jury for a second time. Mathis is facing kidnapping, carjacking, assault and weapons charges. |

One witness to the lethal injection blurted out ‘Die!’ as the inmate read his last statement. Robert L. Henry, 55, was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m. on Thursday after the chemical injection at the Florida State Prison. Authorities say about $1,200 was taken in the robbery. Before the execution, Henry read a three-minute statement in which he apologized for his crimes and said he hoped his death would comfort the families of the victims. But he also criticized the death penalty, saying thieves don't get their hands amputated as punishment. ‘Why would we continue to be murderers to those who have murdered?’ he said.
