Manhunt on for accused killer - Girlfriend stabbed at Moxham car wash JOHNSTOWN — A local manhunt was underway late into the night Tuesday for a Tire Hill man accused of stabbing his girlfriend with a survival knife and then leaving her to die at a Moxham car wash. Police have issued a warrant for 21-year-old Demetrius Darnel Gibson on homicide and other counts. They say he stabbed Elizabeth Ann Miller, 21, during a meet-up inside a Bridge Street car wash bay, just hours after threatening her at their Tire Hill apartment. “This is another tragic domestic incident,” Johnstown police Capt. After separating briefly, they arranged to meet at the Dollar Car Wash on Bridge Street to talk and exchange a cellphone, Frear said. Gibson parked inside one of the car wash bays and Miller joined him inside, a witness told police. Their discussion quickly got heated – and it ended with Miller getting stabbed once in her right side, Frear added. “(Miller) was screaming for help, that Gibson had stabbed her,” Johnstown Detective Thomas Owens wrote in a criminal complaint. The knife wound struck a main artery to the heart, Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski said. Miller, bleeding profusely, was taken to Memorial Medical Center’s emergency room and quickly transferred to an operating room for treatment, but she died at 5:05 a.m., the coroner said. |

Kellerher said he has slept under bridges, trees and in parks for 18 years and has never been attacked. “You know it don’t feel good..It’s hard. I just want to cry,” he said. “It’s just hard to talk about because it hurts. I didn’t think anybody would ever do that.” Kellerher said it still hurts to sit on one side. - (Black-on-white) |

A group of the victim's friends rallied outside the courthouse, vowing to get justice. Olabaku Jones, 43, entered his plea in Butte County Court Wednesday morning. He is charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend Abby Tucker, 33. Last week Jones was initially arraigned on assault charges, after Tucker was hospitalized with severe head injuries. Deputies said she was found beaten June 24 at the home the couple shared in the 2100 block of Spencer Street in Oroville. The charges were upgraded once Tucker passed away after three days in the hospital.
