 A SADISTIC paedo ring threatened to cut a girl’s face off and decapitate the baby of one of their young victims, a court heard today. Another victim of the Oxford-based sex ring has considered suicide while others suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, nightmares, panic attacks and flashbacks, the Old Bailey was told. Ahead of the sentencing of the gang – convicted of grooming vulnerable underage girls for sexual exploitation – the court was read harrowing statements from victims' parents. They described how the seven defendants had ruined their daughters' lives. A statement from the mother of one girl said her daughter developed chronic insomnia and even suffered a minor stroke, believed to have been brought on by the stress of her horrific ordeal. Six of the defendants – minus Mohammed Karrar, 38, who is said to have refused to come up from the cells – listened from the dock as the distressing statements were read. He was convicted last month with his brother, Bassam Karrar, 34, and another two brothers, Akhtar Dogar, 32, and Anjum Dogar, 31, of charges including rape, trafficking and organising prostitution. Kamar Jamil, 27, Assad Hussain, 32, and Zeeshan Ahmed, 28, were also found guilty following the five-month trial during which the jury was told the gang sexually exploited girls as young as 11. - (UK) |
COLLETON COUNTY, SC - Five men who were arrested earlier this year in connection to the killing of an innocent bystander now face charges of murder. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office says Jason Wilson, Reginald Fryar, Brandon Allen Bowman, Deon Hampton and Carl Crandell Scriven were all charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in reference to an April 9 shooting on West Side Lane in Colleton County near Walterboro. The shooting took the life of an innocent bystander, Rebecca Marshelle Dewitt, who was caught in the crossfire as she returned home from the store with her children. - (Black-on-white)
A Dover man was arrested Monday for allegedly raping a 
Orlando police said a homeless man desperate for money from a Starbucks tip jar climbed into a drive-through window, assaulted an employee, and then threatened others inside with a chair. On Saturday morning, Anthony M. Williams, 36, wedged himself between the Starbucks building on East Colonial Drive and a vehicle in the drive-through, and grabbed the tip jar at the window. An employee told Williams he couldn't take the money and tried to slide the jar away from him. Williams grabbed onto the employee and would not let go, according to a report released Monday.
According to a police report, 53-year-old Darrell Moore went to Central Police Headquarters downtown on Wednesday. He told the front desk officer that he just witnessed a murder. He then proceeded to take off his pants. The officers told him to keep his pants on but he refused. Moore then allegedly proceeded to gratify himself sexually in front of the officers. When a police sergeant approached the man, Moore allegedly spit toward him. He also allegedly tried hitting an officer, who blocked his attempt.
CLEARWATER -- A Palm Harbor man is accused of kidnapping and sexually battering a teenager he met on the bus last month. Isaac Fredericks, 26, is facing charges of kidnapping with intent to commit a felony and sexual battery. Fredericks was arrested Friday in connection with the June 11 incident, which happened at 9:45 p.m. in a wooded area. Detectives said Fredericks met the 16-year-old girl on a PSTA bus and began following her home. The girl was able to describe Fredericks to detectives, and also gave the first name he had given her on the bus, investigators said. Detectives then pulled video from the bus, which they used to establish Fredericks as the suspect.,

FORT MYERS, FL - Police arrested a convicted felon Saturday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman after stealing a car. Officers responded to an apartment in reference to a sexual assault. The victim had been severely beaten. Police learned that the victim had met the suspect a few weeks ago at a bus stop. The victim told police that early Saturday morning, the suspect forced his way into her apartment. After the assault, he then fled the scene. Meanwhile, officers were called to another apartment complex in reference to a stolen vehicle. The suspect in that case matched the denoscription of the suspect in the sexual assault and was still on scene. After further investigation, police learned the suspect took the car to get to the victim's apartment. Officers arrested 26-year-old Terrence Faison of Fort Myers for sexual assault, burglary with an assault, grand theft auto, operating a vehicle without a valid license and violation of probation. 
AKRON, OH - A child rapist has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Robert Roper, 24, was also designated a Tier III sex offender for the heinous act. On June 6, a jury convicted Roper of rape for repeatedly raping the five-year-old daughter of an acquaintance in 2010 and 2011.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —A woman poured gasoline on several passengers inside an ATA bus on Monday morning and attempted to start a fire, Kansas City, Mo., Police said. The incident happened on board an ATA bus at Truman Road and Prospect Avenue at about 5:30 a.m. Police said the woman got on the bus, started arguing with other passengers and doused them with gasoline. She then tried to light a match, but was stopped by the bus driver. The passengers were taken off the bus and put on another bus. An ambulance was called to the scene to check the passengers but no injuries were reported.

See, Douglas Perlitz isn’t really a humanitarian; he’s a pedophile. He would invite boys over for sleepovers. Some of those boys said he would drug them and they would wake up to their clothes covered in sperm, or to Douglas Perlitz performing a sex act on them. Others said that Perlitz would climb into their bed and rub himself against them until he ejaculated. One boy was even admitted to the hospital with severe rectal bleeding after being sodomized by Perlitz.
VILLA RICA, GA - Police have charged a 16-year-old and 23-year-old with murder and armed robbery in a fatal jewelry story robbery in Villa Rica on Wednesday. Her captor — identified by police as Steven Kitchell, 34 — kept her locked inside the third-floor bedroom at 826 Montclair Ave., where he also beat and sexually assaulted her, the 21-year-old woman told authorities.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Chauncy Rhodes was sentenced to more than a dozen years in prison Friday after he was convicted of rape back in March. Despite pleas from his family, the judge was unforgiving for what he called a "heinous crime." "In accordance with the jury the sentence will be 15 years," Judge Olu Stevens said. Rhodes, a former LMPD recruit, broke down in tears when the sentenced was read aloud. Rhodes was convicted of raping and sodomizing a woman who passed out at a Halloween party. 
WYOMING, Mich. (AP) - A 35-year-old Grand Rapids public school teacher has been arraigned on charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Jamila Williams appeared Monday in District Court in the Grand Rapids-area community of Wyoming. Authorities say she had sex with two students this year. A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy told police that they had inappropriate contact with the teacher at multiple locations between March 1 and June 1. 
CLAYTON • A St. Louis County jury has convicted a man of statutory rape of a 12-year-old girl. 
A Sandy-area man has been charged with sodomizing and sexually abusing an 8-year-old boy. Richard Vernon Smith, 52, was arraigned last week in Clackamas County Circuit Court. Trial is set for Aug. 13. Smith is being held in the Clackamas County Jail, with bail set at $500,000. Meanwhile, police are asking any possible additional victims in the case to contact them. Roy Calhoun, 30, was found guilty of multiple charges last year, including sex trafficking of children, conspiracy to obstruct a sex trafficking investigation and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute Oxycodone."This defendant profited from children in the commercial sex trade," Dettelbach said. NEW YORK — A Brooklyn man allegedly spent charitable donations intended for Israel on everything from his mortgage to dentist visits to video rentals, according to New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Yaakov Weingarten allegedly withdrew more than $2 million in cash from donations to 19 charities that supposedly ran programs or religious activities in Israel. The trouble is the charities, which are run out of a Coney Island call center, were essentially bogus, used primarily by Weingarten for his own benefit, according to Schneiderman.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A 29-year-old Cedar Rapids man is accused of multiple charges after police say he injured at least three people during a supper time assault at Outback Steakhouse on Sunday. Matthew Lee Sanders is accused of willful injury causing bodily injury, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, assault causing bodily injury and disorderly conduct, according to court documents. Documents said Sanders was arrested after he attacked three people, unprovoked, at the Outback Steakhouse located along First Avenue SE in Cedar Rapids using a glove with glass shards and a chair. Police said Sanders punched a woman several times with a glove containing shards of glass and threw a chair at a second woman, who was seven months pregnant, during the incident. Documents said the woman was induced into labor due to the assault. He also assaulted a male during the incident.

A former criminal justice instructor at Westover High School in Fayetteville has been accused of performing a sexual act on a 17-year-old student. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that Armand Virgil Lee, 43, of 281 Carthon Lane in Raeford, was arrested Thursday on a charge of sexual activity with a student. Investigators said the alleged crime happened May 13 and that the student also reported that Lee, on May 22, inappropriately touched her.
Police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl. Police say the man forced his victim into a secluded area of an alley in the 3100 block of Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue around 8 p.m. on June 19. The man is described as a tall, thin black male in his late teens or early 20s. He has a shaved head and was wearing red basketball shorts with a white sleeveless shirt and multi-colored high-top basketball shoes. The man is wanted on charges of rape, criminal confinement and child molestation.
Tampa, Florida -- A Tampa man is facing animal cruelty charges after he allegedly killed his family's pet dog, and then cut the animal up for future meals. Investigators say 25-year-old Thomas Elliot Huggins strangled the young pit bull mix pup on Thursday morning, and then cut the animal into quarters and put the remains in the freezer. A family member called police after learning what happened. Arriving officers say they found the dog's ribs cooked in a pot on the stove, and the animal's head was in the garbage.
A horrific case of animal cruelty in the Mid-South. A Memphis man is locked up, accused of killing his puppy and tossing it in the trash. It's the terrible way the puppy was killed that is especially disturbing to neighbors. Witnesses say Marcus Curry put his puppy in a dishwasher then turned it on. "I just can't believe he did that to a puppy," says Melanie Evans. "What did the dog do to him?" 
SEATTLE — Her face is bloodied, bruised, and swollen, but the woman seen staggering away from a vicious public beating in broad daylight is still a mystery to police. "We don't know where to find her, and we need to," Seattle Police Detective Renee Witt said. Even veteran SPD officers were astonished when they saw the cellphone video, which shows a defenseless woman being punched, kicked and stomped relentlessly by three other women for almost 60 seconds. The attack happened in the middle of crowded Westlake Park, and no one there seemed interested in stopping it. Officers detained three suspects in a nearby alley, but eyewitnesses would not identify them as the assailants, so officers had no choice but to let them go. "We know who those suspects are and where they live," Witt said. "If someone can lead us to the victim, we would be able to go and arrest them." 
PORTLAND, Ore. – A mob of at least three-dozen teens, perhaps even up to 100, punched people, blocked traffic and talked about gangs last Friday night, according to witnesses. The incident happened at Southeast 72nd Avenue and Flavel Street. A second disturbance was reported a half-hour later in the area of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Holgate Street. Police believe the two situations were not connected. Newport News police are searching for a man wanted for sex crimes against a young girl. Police are searching for 21-year-old Muhammad Anthony Robinson. Robinson is described as 6’1 and 155 pounds. His last known address is in the 23000 block of Cat Fish Street in Windsor Virginia. Robinson is wanted for rape, forcible sodomy, object sexual penetration, crimes against nature, and sexual battery. Police say the incident happened on December 2, 2012.
The teenager's mother is filing a lawsuit against Charles Pugh, the City of Detroit and the Detroit Public Schools. She alleges that Pugh gave her son gifts and money and took him out of school without her permission. Pugh runs a mentoring program at the Frederick Douglass Academy for Young Men. That is how Pugh and the teen met. Attorneys for the mother say it went beyond what a teacher-student relationship consists of. 
A man wanted by police for stabbing a woman and sexually assaulting another early Saturday morning in Myrtle Beach was arrested in Vance County, North Carolina. Waredell Bullock, 53, surrendered without incident when the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and deputies with the Vance County Sheriff's Department called him out of his mother's house, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Delaware State Police have arrested a Harrington man accused of raping a 22-year-old woman at gunpoint. Jerome L. Hall, 53, is charged with first-degree rape, aggravated menacing, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and possession of drug paraphernalia. Troopers said that when they arrived on the home, they contacted the 22-year-old victim who claimed Hall had held a gun to her and forced her to perform sexual acts with him. 
A woman was sexually battered at an Ambassador Inn on W. Vine Street Thursday, Kissimmee police said. Police said the woman was staying at the hotel for a few days. While at the property, police said she met Ralph Lee Segar Jr. Police said Segar, 36, was also staying at the hotel. Early Thursday morning, police said Segar attempted to sexually batter the victim, and she was bludgeoned by him. 
Twenty-five police officers were taking part in a bike training program in Upper Darby Tuesday afternoon. The annual, week-long program provides bike-riding training to officers from several departments, including Clifton Heights and Haverford. The officers were riding their bikes in Naylor’s Run Park around 4 p.m. when they say they stumbled upon 41-year-old Jennifer Harvey and 37-year-old Richard McBride.
