Israel Perez arrested in rape of woman
Israel Perez, 52, was charged with rape, sexual assault and related offenses. Perez entered the woman's bedroom Dec. 23 about 1 a.m. and sat on her bed. He pulled off her shorts as she resisted, then raped her. She was later taken to Reading Hospital, where she underwent a sexual assault examination. Police received a lab report May 7 that showed Perez's DNA was found on the woman's shorts.

Rape Suspect Manuel Vasquez Sanchez Arrested After Trying to Lure Salinas Teen
SALINAS, Calif. -- Police are investigating a case where a man attempted to lure a 16-year old girl into his Gray Honda Accord. The suspect, 31-year old Manuel Vasquez Sanchez, was also identified as a suspect in a rape case the previous day. It happened Saturday afternoon around 4:00 in Closter Park. The victim told police the suspect followed here for several blocks, trying to convince the girl to get into his car, officers said. The teen ignored the man and called police. Sanchez was also wanted in connection with a rape investigation that allegedly happened the night before in Monterey County, police said.

An Ogden man is scheduled to appear in court today after police say he raped a 14-year-old girl. Charges filed with the 2nd District Court in Ogden on Thursday state 21-year-old Daniel Garcia and a 13-year-old boy met with two 14-year-old girls at an Ogden mall on April 27 and drank vodka, which Garcia supplied. Garcia was arrested and charged with rape and providing alcohol to a minor.

The savage attack follows the murder of a British soldier by two men using weapons including knives and a meat cleaver. One of the suspects said they were acting in the name of Islam. Today there were fears that the Paris attack was a copy-cat crime and that a radical Muslim might once more be responsible.
  Police in the French capital described the attacker as a being ‘bearded, of North African origin and wearing a light coloured jihab’ under a jacket. ‘The soldier was stabbed repeatedly, most notably in the throat. Prelim Set For Killiing, Rape Of West Jordan Girl, 6
WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) -- The man accused of raping and killing a six-year-old Utah girl has been ordered to appear at a preliminary hearing more than a year after her body was found in a West Jordan canal. Terry Lee Black is charged with aggravated murder, child kidnapping and raping Sierra Newbold. He also is charged with bank robbery and molesting another girl several years earlier. The Salt Lake Tribune reports all those charges will be addressed at the preliminary hearing July 29. Police say Black abducted Sierra from her West Jordan home, beat, raped and strangled her before throwing her in the canal, where she drowned last June. Three days later, police arrested Black as a suspect in a bank robbery and uncovered evidence they say linked him to the girl's death.

Ronald Poppo, Miami Face Mauling Victim, Releases Video Message
Poppo remains completely blind following the attack and has undergone four surgeries since the attack but remains in good spirits, his doctors said. The incident unfolded when a naked, 31-year-old Rudy Eugene attacked Poppo and stripped him of his clothes on the causeway last May, police said. An officer eventually shot and killed Eugene after he refused to stop the attack, police said. By that point Eugene had gnawed away more than half of Poppo's face, gauged out his left eye, and severely damaged his right one. Authorities had initially speculated that bath salts may have been the cause of the attack, but the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner said tests showed only marijuana in Eugene's system.

A Metairie man accused of having sex with a 12-year-old girl about 20 times was indicted Thursday on a charge of aggravated rape. Reynaldo Garcia, 23, who also used the name Oliver Garcia, could face life in prison if convicted as charged for the rapes, which allegedly occurred over a two-year period until December, when the girl was 13. A native of Guatemala, Garcia lived at 1201 Lake Ave. when he was arrested on Feb. 5. He allegedly confessed to having sex with the girl.

After shooting Christopher Newsom three times and killing him, his killers set his body on fire. They dumped Channon Christian in a garbage can, where she asphyxiated.
