Men responsible for Veto Street home invasion, gang rape sentenced GRAND RAPIDS -- Four men who admitted their roles in a home invasion on Grand Rapids' west side are headed to prison -- serving consecutive sentences -- for assaulting the residents and and raping a woman. The judge sentenced the men Wednesday in a hearing that also featured a statement by the woman who was sexually assaulted. The attack happened last June. Five people broke into a home during the early morning hours and assaulted the three men inside, then took turns sexually assaulting the woman living at the home. Brandon Towns, 26, Rederick Melton, 21, Dorian Jones, 21, and James Hodges, 20, all pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual conduct, home invasion and armed robbery. The judges made all of the men's sentences consecutive because of the brutality of the crime. |
Details of parents' past delay sentences 'Teflon' rapist sentenced to 100 years in 2009 sexual assaults of four women An Indianapolis man was sentenced to 100 years in prison Thursday after a jury found him guilty of raping four women. Quanardel Wells confined, raped, tortured and abused four women during the summer of 2009. Last week, Wells was convicted on all eight felony charges, including rape, criminal deviate conduct, criminal confinement and strangulation. Wells was already serving an 80-year sentence for the 2008 rape of a 16-year-old girl. From 1998 to 2005, Wells was acquitted by multiple juries on five cases involving sexual assault and robbery, leading some people to dub him the "Teflon" rapist. |
Woman Chases Burglar out of Home; Suspect Arrested Mobile Police have arrested a man for breaking and entering a woman's home in Mobile. Police say Mark Clemmons broke into a woman's home on Navco Road on May 29 around 3:30 p.m. When the victim arrived home, she heard a strange noise coming from the bedroom. When she approached her bedroom, the woman saw Clemmons. Police say he jumped out of the victim's bedroom window, and she started chasing him. With the help of her neighbors, she was able to catch the subject and detain him until police arrived. Mark Anthony Clemmons was arrested for Burglary Third Degree. |
Man Arrested For Kidnapping, Sexual Assault Of 12-year-old Girl A man was arrested after police said he kidnapped a 12-year-old girl at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her. The man was apparently a friend of the family. Officials said the victim was standing near her home when 28 year-old Jason Diehl walked up, pulled out a gun and told her to get in his car. Diehl allegedly drove away, put the gun to the victim's stomach and told her not to say anything or he would shoot her. The victim old police Diehl then pulled into a vacant lot exposed himself and forced her to perform a sexual act. |

Morehouse rape suspect Chukwudi Ndudikwa voluntarily submits DNA sample One of three Morehouse College students facing allegations of rape and sodomy has voluntarily submitted a DNA sample to the district attorney, hoping to clear his name. Chukwudi Ndudikwa completed the DNA test Wednesday. His attorney, Jackie Patterson, said he contacted the DA's office about the test and is confident it will come back negative. |

Greensboro Police seek man wanted for rape A man wanted for statutory rape may be in Asheboro, according to police. Timothy “Eddie” Striblin, 33, is wanted for felony statutory rape, felony indecent liberties with a child and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Striblin is a black male, 6’0″, 185 lbs.,black hair and brown eyes, with tattoos on both arms. |
Man arrested for exposing himself at apartment's pool NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man is in jail after allegedly exposing himself in front of children at an apartment complex's pool. According to police, Chris Thompson, 28, was sitting at the pool at the Chase Cove Apartments on Smith Springs Road when four witnesses saw him with his hands down his pants. Witnesses told police it appeared he was touching himself while staring at the children in the pool. After he was arrested, authorities said he became irate and started spitting on the back of the cruiser. Thompson also kicked the vehicle's windows and doors. According to reports, he kicked the door so hard that it no longer closes properly. Thompson was convicted on charges of indecent exposure, vandalism and trespassing. Thompson is a registered sex offender. |

Woman Accused of Throwing Puppy from Balcony Sentenced to Jail Time MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) A Mobile woman who pleaded guilty to throwing a puppy off a balcony has been sentenced to five years in jail. Kendria Dexter was in court. She has been ordered to serve 90 days. The rest of her sentence is suspended. Dexter also has to serve 50 hours of community service and will be put on probation. Police say Dexter threw a puppy after an argument with her roommate. The dog survived and has been adopted by a family in Florida. |

Runaway (white) teenager found safe; two (black) men behind bars SC - Authorities say a 15-year-old runaway has been found safe following an investigation by the Moncks Corner Police Department which led to the arrest of two men. Investigators announced Friday evening that Dana Sweazy has been found and is back home with her parents. Sweazy was last known to be staying at a mobile home on Highway 17-A in Moncks Corner on Friday. Investigators had earlier arrested 17-year-old Collin Jenkins and 20-year-old Trevhon Brown. |
West Point Sgt. First Class Michael McClendon charged with videotaping (naked) female cadets in showers A West Point sergeant has been charged with secretly videotaping female cadets in showers. Sgt. First Class Michael McClendon was assigned to West Point in 2009 as a staff advisor responsible for overseeing a company of 125 cadets. Investigators are looking into allegations that he went into the women’s bathroom and videotaped at least a dozen women without them knowing began last year. He was charged last week. |
Pizza delivery driver shot in the back - suspect in custody DAYTON — One suspect has been arrested and is in Montgomery County jail stemming from a Saturday night robbery. Taquonta Sanders, 18, faces possible charges of aggravated robbery and receiving stolen property. He will be in front of the court to be presented with the charges today at 1:45 p.m. Sanders and two other individuals were taken into custody following a multi-vehicle crash Monday night that police say involved a car stolen from a pizza delivery driver who was shot in the back Saturday night. |
UK: ‘Dangerous and predatory’ rapist is found guilty of rape of 26-year-old woman in Woodford Green A 52-year-old man has been found guilty of raping a 26-year-old woman in Woodford Green after meeting her to take her for a night out. Colin Blake, of Ascot Road, Watford, was convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday of rape and sexual assault in relation to the attack in March last year. Blake, described by police as a “dangerous and predatory rapist”, was found guilty at an earlier trial of raping a 14-year-old girl at addresses in Hackney in September 2010. (Black) Man charged in 2010 murder of (White) Shawnee liquor store owner Kansas - After three years with no answers in a deadly Shawnee liquor store shooting, a suspect has been arrested and charged with the murder of the former owner. Larry Marshall, 33, faces first-degree murder charges in the slaying of 61-year-old Gerry Grovenburg. Marshall is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $1 million bond. A customer found Grovenburg dead behind the counter of Mr. G.'s Liquor near West 76th Street and Quivira Road on May 12, 2010. Police release sketch of rape suspect ATLANTA -- Authorities are asking the public's help in identifying the man who forced a woman into an abandoned house on Forrest Hills Drive, where the victim was beaten and raped. Police say the assault happened May 17 and say the victim was able to use the suspect's own knife to cut the right side of his neck. The suspect may currently have a scab or scar on his neck. Police describe the suspect as a black male in his early 20s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. The victim described her attacker as slightly muscular, with medium brown skin and a low Afro. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and black shoes at the time of the attack. The attire was described as a possible work uniform. |
Video: Officer who accused Boren of racial slur boasted in squad car that he targeted 'white folks' A former Columbus Police corporal who resigned under pressure last week after falsely accusing Chief Ricky Boren of using a racial slur in reference to Marshal Greg Countryman, had been suspended six years ago for making discriminatory comments about "white folks." According to reports, officer Jeff Foxx, who is black, made the comments while on patrol. Foxx was having a personal cellphone conversation as he initiated a traffic stop. His remarks were recorded by the dashboard camera. Foxx stopped a Ford F-150 pickup that was being driven by a white female. As he turned his car around to pursue the truck, Foxx can be heard on the recording telling a person he identified as Baby, "I am hooking these white folks up with tickets." As he pulled behind the truck with his blue light on, he was still having the cellphone conversation. At that time, he said, "They make me work these white folks area, somebody's going to pay the price." |

Nurse Roger Dean admits arson murder of 11 Sydney nursing home residents A former nurse who deliberately lit two fires at a Sydney nursing home has pleaded guilty to 11 counts of murder. The four-week trial of 37-year-old Roger Dean was due to start in the New South Wales Supreme Court today. He was charged days after the fire which ripped through the Quakers Hill nursing home in the early hours of November 18, 2011. Dean previously entered guilty pleas to two counts of larceny for stealing painkillers, and prosecutors previously rejected his guilty pleas to manslaughter charges. Rabbi Charged With Criminal Homo Sexual Assault Of Teen Boy Chicago - A rabbi was arrested Saturday in the alleged sexual molestation of a teenage boy in 2006 — even though prosecutors say authorities were told at the time. Larry L. Dudovitz, 45, was charged with one count of criminal sexual assault, prosecutors said. Dudovitz is accused of trying to assault the victim while the boy was sleeping in his home in October 2006, court records show. |

Goldsboro man 'Tykeem' charged with sexually assaulting teen N.C. — Goldsboro police charged a 21-year-old Dudley man with sex crimes late Thursday after they say he assaulted a 17-year-old at a housing community. Tykeem Quayshon Wooten, 21, of 104 Daffodil Drive, is charged with second-degree forcible sex offense and second-degree trespassing. According to investigators, Wooten did not know the girl he assaulted Thursday. |
St. Louis man accused of sexual contact with girl under 14 A St. Louis man faces charges after he allegedly had sexual contact with a teenage girl in November. Delton Anderson Jr., 20, was charged Wednesday with first-degree statutory sodomy and first-degree child molestation. According to court documents, Authorities said the girl was younger than 14 years old at the time. |
Cleveland man convicted of 2011 stabbing death A man has been convicted of a 2011 murder in Bradley County. Assistant District Attorney Stephen Hatchett says after about three hours of deliberation, Russell Brown was found guilty of first degree murder and aggravated arson. Brown stabbed James Montgomery to death at the Days Inn in Cleveland, and then set the room on fire. The victim's body was found New Year's Day of 2012. Brown was arrested a short time later. |

Jury finds Virgil DeBose guilty of rape, murder of 78-year-old woman LARGO — For about two minutes Friday morning, the prosecutor delivered his closing argument from the courtroom floor. Fred Schaub, his back against the carpet, was simulating 78-year-old Audrey Mulligan's perspective during her rape six years ago. The attack was so violent it broke her hip and pelvis. Virgil DeBose, unflinching, watched from the defense table a few feet away. On March 12, 2007, DeBose knocked on the door of Mulligan's Paradise Shores condo to ask for a glass of water. She let him in, believing he was one of the roofers working at the complex. Once inside, he attacked. She screamed and tried to knee him in the groin. Amid the struggle, he landed on top of her. "Will you forgive me?'' he asked. "Please forgive me." Mulligan told him she never would. "Go straight to hell," she said. As he fled, she called 911. |

Arthur Lee Thomas, 23, was ordered to serve one year in the Tulsa Jail on April 1 after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault and battery, court records show. Prosecutors charged Thomas with first-degree rape on Wednesday. Thomas’ 14-year-old victim alleges he forced himself on and raped her at a social gathering on Feb. 14, investigators with the Tulsa Police Department said. |

11 (blacks) accused of gang-raping teen, 7 arrested 4 additional (black) suspects remain at large Texas—Madisonville police say a teenage girl was mentally, physically and sexually abused inside a residence on Hope Circle. Investigators said the 16-year-old girl was held prisoner for hours in March. On Friday, they arrested six of her 11 alleged captors in an early morning sting. Investigator said the group included at least ten men and a woman. Police said the individuals gave the girl crystal meth and then took turns raping her. Afterwards they allegedly threatened to kill her. Debrodrick Manning, Brandon Gilbert, Derrick Kyle, Lorenzo Ford, Lafelix Turner, Steven Manning and Adrian Butler have all been arrested in connection to the case. 23-year-old sentenced in rape, attempted rapes JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Keith Deontay Love, 23, was sentenced to 50 years in prison with a 25 year minimum mandatory Friday morning for the rape and attempted rapes of three young women. Love pleaded guilty last month to charges of sexual battery with a firearm, kidnapping with a firearm, attempted sexual battery with a firearm, attempted sexual battery and false imprisonment. After all three attacks, detectives were able to link the cases using the tag number and denoscriptions of Love given by all three female victims. |

Sketch of suspect in west Houston sexual assault released A woman was sexually assaulted in her west Houston home earlier this month. And now, police have a sketch of a man they say is responsible. Police say the victim, who is a grandmother, was home alone when she heard a knock on her door, and answered it, thinking it was someone she knew. The man pushed his way inside the home and began hitting the woman on the head. He told her he had a gun and then sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30s. He's about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slim build and muscular shoulders, a thin moustache and a goatee. He wore plaid green shorts, a black T-shirt, a blue do-rag and carried a green backpack. |

Beaverton police officer on leave for alleged food stamp fraud, now accused of raping child A SWAT team was dispatched Wednesday to arrest a Beaverton police officer accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old child. Christopher R. Warren, 33, who lives in Vancouver, was taken into custody at his home in the 9200 block of Northeast 14th Way, Vancouver police said. Grand Prairie Mother, Daughter Killed in Home Krieger’s family said she had a tumultuous relationship with her 'fianceé'. Family members of victim Jennifer Krieger called police after not being able to reach her or her 14-year-old daughter Kelsie since Thursday evening. Man suspected in Grand Prairie double murder to be extradited from New Mexico Authorities say the extradition process has begun for the man who police suspect killed a Grand Prairie mother and her teenage daughter over the weekend. Kirkland Reed, 45, was taken into custody Sunday at hospital in Alamogordo, N.M., after police discovered Jennifer Krieger, 44, and her daughter Kelsie, 14, slain in their Grand Prairie home. Reed, who has a criminal past, had been in a relationship with Krieger, police said. The mother died of blunt force injuries to the head, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office. Kelsie’s cause of death has not yet been released. She attended Harry S. Truman Middle School, and police said crisis counselors were at the campus Tuesday. - (Black-on-white) |
Suspect Identified in Fatal Hofstra Home Invasion A wanted man with a criminal history dating back nearly 15 years was identified by police Saturday as the masked home invader involved in the death of a Hofstra University student early Friday morning. Dalton Smith, who was wanted on a parole violation related to a first-degree robbery conviction, attempted to rob the off-campus home where he and Hofstra junior Andrea Rebello were fatally shot, Nassau County police said. Authorities said police were involved in the shooting although it isn't clear who fired the shots that killed Rebello and Smith around 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police said they are still investigating. Smith was identified using fingerprints just hours after funeral arrangement were made for Rebello, 21, a popular public relations major who was with her twin sister Jessica and several other students in an off-campus house at the time of the break-in. - (Black-on-white) |
