Man Wanted In Brooklyn Sexual Assault Police have identified a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman and stole her purse in Brooklyn. Around 4:10 a.m. this past Monday, the man rang the woman’s doorbell at her home. The man forced his way inside when the woman answered the door. Once inside, the man tried to sexually assault the woman, but she began to scream, police said. Afterward, the man ran off, but he took her purse with him. The suspect was identified as Marcus Squire, 28. He is described as a black male standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds, and last seen wearing a black hooded jacket camouflage pants, a black hooded jacket. |
Thomasville man accused of trying to rape juvenile Police say a Thomasville man was arrested after he allegedly tried to rape a juvenile. Xxavier Jonquil Green, 23, is charged with attempted first-degree statutory rape. According to police, detectives were informed Wednesday morning that Green attempted to rape a female juvenile inside his home in the 1000 block of East Street. Guilty plea in rape, robbery of elderly KC couple A 19-year-old Kansas City man has pleaded guilty to the rape, robbery, and kidnapping of an elderly couple last summer. Tony Putman took a plea deal with prosecutors that dropped four other charges. Court documents showed Putman broke into the couple's home near 73rd and Campell in July 2012. He first beat a 93-year-old man and tied him up with belts. The man's wife, 84, came home a short time later after a trip to the bank and found Putman still inside. He forced her to give him the cash she had just withdrawn and then raped her. |
Man Used Sword To Beat, Sexually Assault Woman In River Forest A North Side man has been charged with allegedly beating and sexually assaulting an acquaintance with a sword in her west suburban River Forest home, police said. Kenneth W. Merrills, 20, used a sword to beat, sexually assault and restrain a 43-year-old woman inside her home in River Forest late Wednesday and early Thursday. Police forced their way into her home and took Merrills into custody without incident. |
Bridgeport man arrested for allegedly having sex with 14-year-old Facebook 'friend' A Bridgeport man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he met on Facebook. Jean Eugene, 26, was arrested this week. According to police, the father of the 14-year-old girl contacted investigators after learning his daughter had been seeing Eugene. During interviews, the girl told detectives she was hesitant when Eugene friended her on Facebook, but began talking to him on the phone and chatting online regularly. The teen said Eugene came to her house on nights when her parents weren't home and that the two had sex on several occasions, police said. |
Charges: Bus driver solicited sex from hearing-impaired 13-year-old girl Last month, a 13-year-old girl with hearing impairment told her older sister about the bus driver who drove her to and from Anwatin Middle School. She said he often stared at her through the rearview mirror inside the bus, but things got even more unsettling when he gave the girl an inappropriate note on Feb. 11. Charging documents accuse 45-year-old Sammy Mays of regularly giving the girl gifts of $10 or $20 since late 2012. The victim told police she initially thought he was also giving money to others and eventually asked him to stop when she found out otherwise. When the girl boarded the bus on Feb. 11, she said Mays handed her a hand-written note and told her read it later; however, she read it immediately while Mays watched intently. Mays explicitly told the teen that he was looking for a virgin to have sex with and hoped it would be her. |
'Most-Wanted' suspect nabbed in Lowell rape-kidnap A convicted sex offender is being held on $50,000 cash bail after Lowell police arrested him this week in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a woman in February. Vincent Harold Lucas, 49, was ordered held after pleading not guilty to charges of aggravated rape, kidnapping, intimidation of a witness, larceny over $250 and failure to register as a sex offender for an alleged incident last month. Lucas and his "associates" are known to prey on younger women, get them hooked on drugs and turn them into prostitutes. |

Wisconsin man banned from ‘all the libraries on the face of the earth’ as condition of $1,000 bond A 20-year-old Racine man who's accused of engaging in lewd behavior in a library has been banned from "all the libraries on the face of the earth." Tyree S. Carter is charged with misdemeanor counts of lewd behavior and disorderly conduct. He's due in court next month for a pre-trial conference. Carter is accused of openly masturbating in the Racine Public Library last week. A witness told investigators Carter was out in the open, not trying to conceal his act. |

For the second time this week, swarms of youths roamed the streets of East Flatbush armed with bottles and bricks. One of those arrested was the sister of 16-year-old Kimani Gray, who police said pointed a loaded pistol at two officers before they gunned him down Saturday. An autopsy showed he had been shot in the front and back — indicating that he was facing officers when the shooting began, a law-enforcement source said. “He was facing them when he pointed the gun,” the police source said. |

Police say fired maintenance man Robert Earl Walter, 54, then fled the scene of the crime in a pickup truck. Phillip Byrd Admits Role In Fatal Taj Mahal Casino Carjacking A southern New Jersey man has admitted he fatally shot a man and wounded a woman during a carjacking inside an Atlantic City casino parking garage. Camden resident Phillip Byrd pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony murder in a plea deal with Atlantic County prosecutors, who'll recommend he receive a 47-year prison term when he's sentenced in June. Byrd and two other Camden men were accused of robbing 28-year-old Sunil Rattu and 24-year-old Radha Ghetia in September 2011. The victims were forced to drive from the Trump Taj Mahal parking garage to an alley, where they were shot. Rattu died from two gunshot wounds to the head. Ghetia survived two shots in the upper body. |
Suspect in Chattanooga police officer shooting nabbed in manhunt A 39-year old Chattanooga man was arrested this morning in connection with the shooting of a Chattanooga Police Department officer. Celvin “Squeaky” Houston is charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon, Chief Bobby Dodd said this morning. Houston was arrested without incident. Area law enforcement agencies and local pastors assisted in the massive manhunt for Houston. Officer William McMillan, who has worked for the police department for six years, suffered a nonlife-threatening injury after he was shot while trying to break up a disorder around 2219 E. 26th Street Court. 2 Arrested In SF After Attempt To Recruit Underage Girl Into Sex Trafficking Two men were arrested at Lands End in San Francisco on Monday after one allegedly tried to recruit an underage girl into sex trafficking, police said. Jaquain Young, 39, was arrested after trying to meet up with the victim at 48th Avenue and Point Lobos on Monday. The FBI assisted San Francisco police in arresting Young. He was booked into jail on suspicion of human trafficking, pandering, pimping, participating in a criminal street gang and conspiracy. A second suspect, Ijeoma Ogbuagu, 25, was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of participating in a criminal street gang, conspiracy and an outstanding felony warrant, police said. |
Associate pastor arrested on charges of child molestation and forcible sodomy of a child The FBI New Orleans Violent Task Force arrested a 48-year-old man who had been wanted on charges of child molestation and forcible sodomy of a child in Kansas City. George Spencer, 48, worked as an associate pastor at the Greater Works CME Church in Kansas City. Law enforcement in Kansas City allege that he attacked a young girl. A warrant was issued for Spencer late last month charging multiple counts of child molestation and forcible rape of a child. |
Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll resigns amid state, federal probe of non-profit veterans group Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll abruptly resigned Tuesday after law enforcement officials questioned her about ties to a purported veterans charity organization at the center of a $300 million multi-state racketeering investigation. Florida law enforcement officials would not say if Carroll, 53, is facing possible criminal charges in connection with the case. Gov. Rick Scott also would not comment. Scott said he would not name Carroll’s replacement until the end of the annual legislative session in May. “She resigned, and she did the right thing for her state and for her family,” Scott said. |

Antonio Little accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl A Frederick man is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Police say Antonio Maurice Little, 39, met the teen Sunday while walking near Bentz and 7th streets in Frederick. The two went to Little's home in the 800 block of N. Market Street and engaged in sexual conduct. Around 4 a.m. that morning, police responded to the home for a report of a sex offense and found marijuana and cocaine. |
London Knifepoint Rapist John Jambu Evaded Capture for Two Years A care home manager who raped a woman at knifepoint has been sentenced to seven years in prison after evading capture for two years. John Jambu, an illegal immigrant, worked in Croydon when he attacked a woman who had approached him about finding work. He accompanied her to an interview which was then cancelled. He offered her a lift home but stopped off at his flat in Woolwich, south London, and lured her inside where he pounced on her. The attack took place in 2010, a court was told When police closed in on him at a new address in 2012, they found him hiding underneath a divan bed. Ex-Mayor of Detroit Convicted in Corruption Case Kwame M. Kilpatrick, a former mayor of Detroit, was found guilty on Monday of a range of charges, including corruption and fraud, at the completion of a five-month trial. Jurors reached consensus on 40 of the 45 charges leveled against Mr. Kilpatrick and his co-defendants, the judge in the trial said. |
