| Shonda Walter, who is black, is accused of hatchet murder of 83-year-old James Sementelli, who was a White WWII veteran He survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, now, more than sixty years later, he's a murder victim. Shonda Walter was charged last year with killing her 83-year-old neighbor with a hatchet and stealing his car and some $500 in quarters. Police allege Shonda Walter killed James Sementelli, 83, 17 N. Black Suspect Arrested in Shooting Death of White Wachovia Bank Employee   Virginia Beach police have arrested a man suspected of killing a manager at a Virginia Beach Wachovia Bank last week. Theodore Vincent Carter, 43, was arrested at his home and charged with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Police say Carter walked into the Wachovia Bank last Friday and shot 58-year-old Thomas Joseph Laurendeau. Laurendeau, hit several times, died at the scene. No one else in the bank was injured. Police said Carter made no attempt to rob the bank. Authorities are still unclear on a motive for the shooting. - (Brewski) |
Akron: White Security guard murdered by black gunman * Security guard shot dead at local car dealership It was tragic night on Akron streets Friday. A security guard was murdered at the Burt Greenwald Chevrolet dealership. Akron officers were seen on foot searching for an armed gunman near Vernon-Odom Boulevard. That suspect is described as a black male between 40 and 50-years-old, wearing a blue plaid shirt and a flannel jacket. Sixty-year-old Michael Laughlin, of East Rochester, was responding to an alarm at Burt Greenwald Chevrolet on Vernon Odom Blvd. - (White Boy) |
Black arrested for murder of White teen   Ernest Whitaker, 13, was in a car with his family when they pulled into an apartment complex just before 9 p.m. on March 18. As the boy's mother stopped the car, three men approached and demanded money, jewelry and the car.

White Defendant Acquitted of Murdering Ky. Student   Lucas Goodrum, 23, could have gotten the death penalty if found guilty of killing 18-year-old Katie Autry, who died of her burns at a hospital three days after being pulled from her smoldering room in 2003. The prosecution relied heavily on the testimony of Goodrum's former co-defendant, Stephen Soules. The two were at the same fraternity party as Autry the night of the attack, and prosecutors said they followed her back to her room. Soules pleaded guilty a year ago to raping and killing Autry, and implicated Goodrum. Soules escaped the death penalty and received life in prison for his testimony. |
Ex-boyfriend charged in murder mutilation of 'exotic dancer' - police find body in shallow grave with missing fingers   Police found the body of Emily Cagal, 24, in a shallow grave. Some of Cagal's fingers were missing, which could indicate she was tortured before her death. Police arrested Antoine Gatewood, Cagal's former boyfriend and bodyguard, along with his roommate, Dion Desir, last Friday. Investigators believe Gatewood killed Cagal inside her apartment and then disposed of her body with help from Desir. - (Brewski) |
Victim, Suspect Die In Standoff At Arlington Gas Station  JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man who was briefly held hostage by a gunman was fatally shot in a standoff at an Arlington gas station Sunday morning, then police killed the gunman who had been threatening customers. Jacksonville Sheriff's Officers identified the suspect as 46-year-old James Carter Jr. Carter had just shot and killed Ronald Alan Elder, who stopped at the station on his way to a planned day of fishing. Elder, 43, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and a Navy veteran, repaired radios for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and led a church youth group. He and his wife had an 18-month-old son. - (Tyrone N. Trial begins for 1995 rape murder case  The suspected murderer of a 17-year-old Goshen girl will go on trial today. The partially clothed body of Jessica Zbras was found along Rock Run Creek in Goshen nearly 10-years ago. It wasn't until 35-year-old Terrence Evans was arrested last year that police had a suspect in the case. Evans had been the boyfriend of Jessica's mother. Son "accidentally" shot mailman in the back with his mothers illegal gun  Latoya Burnette, a woman whose 9-year-old son fired a pistol from his bedroom window and 'accidentally' killed Clayton Smith, a White postal worker pleaded guilty Monday to illegally owning a gun and lying to federal authorities. Smith was shot in the back on June 23, 2003, while he was taking a break and sorting mail in the parking lot of a suburban Pittsburgh shopping center, less than 100 feet from the apartment complex in Crafton where Burnette was living. St. Paul: Murder Suspect Charged With Rape  Nathaniel C. Glass has been charged with raping a woman and police said he is also a suspect in the murder of Memory Pachowicz. Nathaniel C. Glass, 26, was charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct. Prosecutors allege Glass approached a female pedestrian in a car and asked if she wanted a ride. The woman accepted, Glass allegedly took the woman to an apartment. Once at the apartment, the woman became “spooked” because the apartment appeared vacant. The woman saw a bed frame, pillows, a hammer and clutter in the apartment, but no furniture. While in the apartment Glass put a knife to the woman’s face and raped her. - (Brewski) |
Stanley L. Hall finally executed for the murder of White woman Barbara Jo Wood who he threw into the Mississippi River   Eleven years after he threw a woman to her death in the icy Mississippi River, Stanley L. Hall of St. Louis was executed by injection. Hall, 37, was pronounced dead at 12:06 a.m. in the Potosi Correctional Center for the murder of Barbara Jo Wood of south St. Louis County on Jan. 14, 1994. He and an accomplice had kidnapped her from the South County Shopping Center because they planned to use her car in a drive-by shooting. Black suspected of shooting White woman in the back during ATM robery is behind bars  CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man is behind bars and now faces criminal charges for shooting a woman who was depositing money for her church last month. Police arrested George Johnson on Saturday and accused him of shooting Robin Holt while she was making a deposit at a bank off Independence Boulevard on Feb. 6. Police say Johnson attacked her, shot her in the back and then stole the money. Authorities have charged Johnson with armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent David Wilhelm murdered by Brian Nichols   David Wilhelm, an experienced home remodeler and builder on the side, reportedly was laying tile in a bathroom when Brian Nichols shot him, took his pistol, money and badge and drove off in Wilhelm's blue pickup. A construction worker found Wilhelm's body Saturday morning hours before Nichols was arrested about 15 miles away. The pickup also was located but not near the place where Nichols' arrest occurred. Nichols apparently surprised Wilhelm sometime late Friday or early Saturday at a home Wilhelm was working on for himself and wife, Candee. - (Tyrone N. Butts) |

Trial date set for Tampa murder suspect   A Hillsborough County judge set a trial date Thursday for one of the suspects in the beating death of a Tampa teen. Laisha Landrum's trial is scheduled June 20. She is accused of helping her boyfriend, Rocky Almestica, beat his former girlfriend, 16-year-old Emily Clemons, then leaving her to die in a north Tampa apartment Dumpster on June 9 of last year. Almestica was sentenced Jan. 3 to life in prison. Landrum, 17, is facing first-degree murder and tampering charges. Emily was 14 when she started "dating" Almestica and 16 when she was killed. - Is there a lesson or moral somewhere here? Accused Black Killer of White Boy "Not Competent To Stand Trial"  A judge in Alexandria ruled that Gregory Murphy was still not competent to stand trial for allegedly killing 8-year-old Kevin Shifflet in 2000. The boy was stabbed to death as he played in front of his grandmother's home in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood.

Reward Offered For Missing 5-Year-Old - Emily Rimel Disappeared Dec. 7  COLUMBUS, Ohio -- There is another plea from a Franklin County family to help find a missing 5-year-old girl. Emily Rimel disappeared from her Madison Township apartment in the early morning hours of Dec. 7. Dispite a widespread search effort, she has not been seen or heard from since. Police arrested Lindsey Bruce, 23, and charged him with raping the girl. There is a $12,000 reward for information that leads to Emily's whereabouts.
