27 Years After Shooting White Man In Head - Raping His Wife - Black Man Released
Darwyn MintonRick MorrowDarwyn Minton, 54, is a free man tonight. His victim isn't happy. Minton served 27 years in prison after he severed a phone line, slipped into a home, shot a man three times and sexually assaulted his victim’s wife. During a March parole hearing he claimed he was no longer the same man that committed those crimes. “I realized that I had hurt someone very seriously,” he said. “And I don't feel good about that. I'm ashamed about what I have done.” His victim, Rick Morrow, said he wants the full story told. Morrow was the man who was shot in July, 1987. In previous interviews Morrow said he wasn’t sure he was going to survive. After being shot multiple times, once in the head, Morrow slipped in and out of consciousness. Morrow remembered that he had a gun near his dresser and somehow made it to the gun, eventually shooting Minton. The shot took off some of Minton’s fingers and hit his jaw. It also gave Morrow’s wife enough time to get Minton’s gun, and make it to the neighbor’s home with her two daughters to get police. These days Morrow no longer lives in Omaha. In fact, he never slept in the house where the worst night of his life unfolded. With Minton free, he’s asked that his current location is not disclosed. Morrow said he hopes that people understand that Minton is a dangerous man. - (Black-on-white)

(Black) Jesse Matthew enters plea in 2005 sex assault, abduction case
Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr. Hannah GrahamMorgan Dana HarringtonJesse Matthew, who was charged with killing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham, on Wednesday ceded that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him of abduction, sexual assault and attempted murder in a different, decade-old crime, a Virginia prosecutor said. In a Fairfax, Virginia, courtroom, Matthew entered an Alford plea in connection with the 2005 case, which means he does not admit to a criminal act but acknowledges the prosecution has enough evidence to win the case. Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Raymond Morrogh said he considers Matthew's action equal to a guilty plea. Morrogh said the prosecution couldn't have stopped Matthew from entering an Alford plea and no deal was made with the defense to secure a lesser punishment. "The defendant pled guilty to all of the charges, which means he faces the full range of punishment," he said. The victim flew from India, where she now lives, to testify. A law enforcement has said DNA evidence has also linked Matthew to the death of Morgan Harrington, a Virginia Tech student who disappeared in 2009. - (Black-on-white)

UK: Police watchdog investigates 19 incidents linked to murderer who killed mother-of-four then stayed the night because he'd missed his last bus
Marcus MusgroveJacqueline OakesThe police watchdog is investigating how the West Midlands force responded to 19 incidents concerning a mother-of-four and the man later convicted of murdering her. The Independent Police Complaints Commission is looking into a string of offences allegedly committed by Marcus Musgrove on Jacqueline Oakes, 51, before he finally battered her to death in January last year. It said Musgrove was accused of attacking and stealing from Miss Oakes, among other crimes, over a nine-month period from April 2013. IPCC Commissioner Derrick Campbell said: 'Our investigation is looking into how police handled the incidents and whether they identified and managed correctly risks to Jacqueline Oakes as a vulnerable woman.' Musgrove was jailed for life, and ordered to serve at least 18 years, after he was unanimously convicted of murder at Birmingham Crown Court last July. His trial heard he befriended the victim in April 2013 but quickly grew violent and controlling. Miss Oakes made a number of complaints to police but later withdrew them. Musgrove killed her at her flat in Edgbaston, Birmingham, after he was arrested over an earlier attack on her. He callously spent the night at the address because he had missed his last bus home. The 40-year-old, of Aston, showed no remorse during his two-week trial and tried to blame Miss Oakes by claiming she had been violent towards him. Passing sentence, Mr Justice Timothy King told him: 'This was a dreadful murder. Jacqueline Oakes was a beloved mother of four and was capable of showing great kindness, including to Mr Musgrove himself. - (Black-on-white) - (UK)

  • NYPD cop acquitted in fatal shooting of (black) gunman
A Brooklyn federal jury found Tuesday that an NYPD cop who mistakenly shot and killed a gunman he mistook for a robber did not use excessive force during the 2011 confrontation. Jurors found that Officer Kevin Murtha did not commit a crime in gunning down Duane Brown, whose relatives brought a civil lawsuit against the city as a result of his death. The tragedy unfolded when Brown grabbed an unlicensed pistol after hearing a commotion in the basement apartment of his East New York home where his brother was being held at gunpoint. Murtha was simultaneously dispatched to the scene and encountered Brown, who he mistook for one of the assailants. Meanwhile, the true crooks had already fled the scene. The officer testified at trial that he immediately noticed the gun in Brown’s hand and that he refused to drop it before he fired at him.

Outburst in court from mother of children found dead in freezer

The bodies of 13-year-old Stoni Blair and 9-year-old Stephen Berry were found in her freezer back in March, but the hearing wasn't about the murders. Instead the court must decide whether Mitchelle Blair still has parental rights to her two other children. Blair has had outbursts in court before. On Thursday, though, she seemed oddly calm at the start of the hearing. In taped testimony her 8-year-old son said that his mom should go to jail for killing his siblings. He was asked how he knew and replied that he saw it. The boys spoke about the abuse not only from his mother, who whipped his back with extension cords, but how Stoni and Stephen sexually assaulted him. Sharon Jones, Lonnell McDonald, Cedric Jones, Cecilia McDonaldA 14-year-old sexual assault victim impregnated by a family member was beaten by other family members to deliver a still-born baby who then took the remains and burned them on a charcoal grill, prosecutors claim. The un-named victim was repeatedly assaulted between January and March 2013 when she eventually gave birth to a still born baby at the house in Pleasant Grove in Dallas, Texas. Dallas police arrested four suspects in connection with the crime, who according to court documents, are being held on a bond of $150,000 each. Prosecutors allege that Cedric Jones, 27, Sharon Jones, 45, Cecilia McDonald, 25 and Lonnell McDonald, 27, were all involved in charges of 'engaging in organised criminal activity' following the alleged assault. They are also accused of trying to cover up the incident by burning the dead infant's body on a charcoal grill before disposing of it in an unknown location. The young girl told Dallas police that she was sexually assaulted by a member of her family in August 2102, but did not report the abuse because she was 'embarrassed'. The suspects discovered the girl was pregnant in January 2013 and began attempts of forcing the victim to abort her baby.

Sheriff: 'A significant step' made as 4 people named in Allison Griffor murder case
Grant, Moses, Glover, and JohnsonAllison GrifforNORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon says four men may face murder charges four years after 5-year-old Allison Griffor was shot and killed during a home invasion in West Ashley. He identified them by hanging their photos on the wall: Phillip Moses, Franklin Glover, Shyrome Johnson and Levell Leonard Grant. Johnson was arrested on Thursday. His bail was set at $200,000 on Friday afternoon. At a press conference Friday afternoon, Cannon said Shyrome Johnson was interviewed as early as Nov. 9, 2011 by investigators looking for answers into Griffor's shooting death. Cannon said Johnson lied to investigators about knowing who was involved in the failed home invasion on Pierpont Avenue, adding that Johnson and the three other men identified Friday as suspects were stopped by City of Charleston police near the scene of the shooting a short time after it happened. "This is a step in an ongoing investigation in the murder of this little girl," Cannon said. "It's a significant step." The case against Johnson and the identities of the other three men came in July 2014, Cannon said, when Johnson was stopped by North Charleston police on unrelated charges and arrested. - (Black-on-white)

  • Detectives: (Black) N. Charleston man hindered investigation of 2011 shooting of 5-year-old White girl
Charleston County sheriff’s deputies say their search for justice in the 2011 West Ashley shooting of 5-year-old Allison Griffor was “severely damaged” because of the lies a 25-year-old North Charleston man told years ago. Shyrome Jaquane Johnson was arrested and charged with one count of obstruction of justice. He is currently uncooperative with law enforcement. The front door of the Griffors’ home on Pierpont Avenue was kicked in at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 25, 2011. As Allison’s father, William, walked toward the door, the intruder fired a shotgun into the house. Several pellets went through the door and a wall into the room where Allison slept. She was hit in the head in the room she shared with her two brothers. She died two days later at Medical University Hospital. Allison’s father, William Griffor, suffered minor injuries in the shooting. He and his wife, Jennifer, took their two surviving children back to their home state of Michigan shortly after the attack. The family was still grieving and still lived in fear after what happened. - (Black-on-white)

Black Man Found Guilty Of Strangling His White Female Boss at a Burger King in 2006
James EalyMary HutchisonWAUKEGAN, Ill. — A Lake County jury has convicted James Ealy of strangling his former boss during a 2006 robbery at the north suburban Burger King restaurant where he once worked. Jurors deliberated for a little more than three hours before finding Ealy guilty on one count of first-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Mary Hutchison. Ealy faces a minimum prison sentence of 20 years and up to life behind bars. It’s the second time the 48-year-old has been convicted of murder, though jurors who decided this case weren’t told about his earlier convictions for a 1982 Chicago quadruple-killing. In that earlier case, Ealy was found guilty of strangling four people in the Rockwell Gardens housing complex, including his teenage girlfriend, her 3-year-old son and her pregnant mother. Those convictions were overturned on appeal in 1986 in a ruling that barred so much evidence from the case that prosecutors were unable to retry him for the slayings. But 20 years later, Ealy was charged with strangling Hutchison with the bow tie of her uniform on Nov. 27, 2006, while robbing the Lindenhurst restaurant she managed. The early morning robbery allegedly netted him $1,701, prosecutors have said. - (Black-on-white)

White protestblack female terroristblack female terroristblack female terroristblack female terroristSOUTH PHILADELPHIA -- A South Philadelphia community has had enough of its neighbors being attacked. Another woman who also did not want to be identified says the women attacked her inside her home calling her racial epithets when she tried to intervene. "Next thing I know, I hear, 'white [expletive] we're gonna [expletive] you up!'" the woman said. "Next thing I know they're inside spitting at me, pounding at my face, beating me." • Black Phoenix man arrested in 1989 sexual assault, murder of White woman - June 16, 2014
A report from the Phoenix Police Department's crime lab indicated a DNA match between a sample taken from the scene and a DNA profile in a state database that belonged to Cudellious Love, a 58-year-old man with a drug conviction that landed him in prison for more than three years in the early aughts. Police say Love's DNA was found on the body of Laura Hunding, who was stabbed to death in her apartment in July 1989. When located and questioned by police on May 12, Love denied any knowledge of Hunding or her homicide nearly 25 years ago. "He claimed he had never 'messed with' White women, has never been to the victim's apartment complex and was not at all familiar with the east side of Phoenix." On Friday, police located and arrested Love after the agency's crime lab determined there was no mistaking Love's DNA to the DNA at the scene because "the approximate incidence of this profile is 1 in 110 quadrillion African Americans," records show.

Dennis HastertSteve ReinboldtWashington - Dennis Hastert homosexually abused a student who had worked as his equipment manager while Hastert coached a high school wrestling team, the student's sister said. It's the first name that's emerged as an alleged victim of abuse at the hands of the former House Speaker since Hastert was indicted for allegedly lying to the FBI about $3.5 million he agreed to pay to an undisclosed person to "cover up past misconduct." Jolene Burdge said in the interview that she found out about Hastert's misconduct when her older brother Steven Reinboldt, who died in 1995, told her in 1979, years after leaving school, that he was gay. "I asked him, when was your first same sex experience. He looked at me and said, 'It was with Dennis Hastert,'" Burdge, whose maiden name is Reinboldt, said. Burdge says her brother passed away of AIDS in 1995. In 2010, Hastert agreed to provide (another) Individual A $3.5 million in order to compensate for and conceal his prior (homosexual) misconduct against Individual A, a former student, who was a male and a minor when the alleged abuse took place.
