Black Arrested for Allegedly Punching White Female Gas Station Clerk in Face over 41 cents A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the caught-on-camera assault of a 23-year-old woman working behind the counter at a Lakewood gas station. Kendrick Ruth, 35, was found and arrested as he left a Long Beach motel, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lakewood Station officials said in a news release. Surveillance footage from the gas station shows the Long Beach resident allegedly punching Yadira Lara, 23, in the face on Sept. 7 over a cigar that cost less than $2. Authorities said Ruth tried to pay for the $1.41 Swisher Sweet cigar with only a $1 bill. When Lara refused to give him the cigar, Ruth allegedly punched her between her eyes and left with the cigar in his pocket, officials said. - (Black-on-white) |
Black Suspect In Custody For Punching White Veteran In The Face WILMINGTON, Del. —Police have arrested Garry Beauford in connection with the alleged assault of a military veteran who was running across the country in support of veterans. On October 2nd, Brandon O’Toole, a military veteran, ran through Wilmington as a part of a cross country trek from California to Maine. In the 600 block of N. Market Street, O’Toole passed Beauford, who without provocation, allegedly punched O’Toole in the face and fled the scene. O’Toole sustained a facial laceration and a concussion. Within a few hours the safety ambassadors located Garry Beauford sleeping in a doorway on the 100 block of N. Market Street and immediately contacted police. - (Black-on-white) |

Trooper's dashcam captures dramatic moment father taking his kids on a road trip shoots officer who returns fire and kills him A dashboard camera in a state trooper's car has captured the dramatic moment a father taking his children on a road trip pulled out a gun and shot an officer who then returned fire and killed him. John Van Allen II, 34, was driving with three of his children when he was pulled over on Interstate 84 east of Portland, Oregon by Trooper Matt Zistel, 26, for speeding. But what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop soon escalated into violence when Van Allen emerged from the car and, despite Zistel urging him to get back inside, pulled out a gun. Van Allen moves quickly towards Zistel before shooting at him several times. He then moves around the police car's hood, still firing. Responding officers found Zistel suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and came across Allen's car on the shoulder of the freeway half a mile away. He was dead inside, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Three of his five children - a 10-year-old girl and two boys, aged 13 and 15 - were also at the scene but they were not hurt. - (Black-on-white) |

Homeless black arrested in 2 stabbings on Long Island FREEPORT -- A homeless man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a robbery and two stabbings on Long Island. 32-year-old Eddie Harris approached a 47-year-old man and stabbed him in the arm, chest and back before stealing his wallet and fleeing. Police say the investigation uncovered that Harris was also behind the stabbing of a 35-year-old man in front of his California Place South home in North Long Beach. That victim was stabbed in the stomach and taken to an area hospital for treatment to his injuries. |
Bad bathroom etiquette results in Oklahoma burglary charge A man accused of stealing some items from a home was charged with burglary based on what he left behind. Charles Marqull Williams, 20, was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary in Oklahoma County District Court. On Jan. 23, 2012, a burglary was reported at 1509 SE 47 Place. The burglar apparently relieved himself in a toilet, leaving behind unflushed feces and a used piece of toilet paper on the floor, according to the probable cause affidavit. A DNA test on the toilet paper matched Williams, the affidavit states. |
Black charged with burning pit bull to death in St. Louis A suspect was charged Wednesday in the death of a severely burned pit bull found in north St. Louis, following an investigation launched by the Humane Society of Missouri. Wesley Reid, 22, was charged with one count of felony animal abuse following an “At Large” warrant. Due to the massive extent of the dog’s injuries and suffering, Zeus was humanely euthanized. “This case is heart-wrenching and gruesome, as Zeus suffered tremendously from this horrible act of violence and animal abuse,” said Kathy Warnick, president, Humane Society of Missouri. “The Humane Society of Missouri applauds the St. Louis City Police Department and the St. Louis City Circuit Attorney for actively pursuing the perpetrator of this unspeakable crime.” |
Teen indicted for mother's fire death MEMPHIS, TN - - A Shelby County Grand Jury indicted a 15-year-old on charges of first-degree murder stemming from a fire earlier this year in which his mother was killed. Investigators arrested Jonathan Ray after his family's Hickory Hill home caught fire in April. His mother, Gwendolyn Wallace, died in the fire. The fire started on a stairway and trapped Wallace on the second floor of the residence, according to officials. Ray is being held in the juvenile facility at Shelby County Jail East, but he is being tried as an adult. The jury indicted him on charges of premeditated first-degree murder and first-degree murder during the perpetration of aggravated arson. Both charges carry a sentence of up to life in prison without parole. Juveniles are not eligible for the death penalty. |
Pack of feral black 'youth' attack two homeless in Raleigh RALEIGH, N.C. -- Raleigh police are investigating two attacks that occurred downtown within two days. One woman was sleeping on the streets and another man told 911 he was walking through an alley way when a group of teenagers assaulted them. On Tuesday night, Ardena Best was sleeping on a park bench when she said out of nowhere a mob of young men approached her. "I happen to look across the street, I see a whole group of guys...like 15 of them," Best said. She said the men crossed Fayetteville Street, and one stopped and yelled at her before the attack. "'What are you scared?' And the guy looked and punched me on the side of my face real fast," Best said. "He clutched his fist and slugged me above my eye." She's not the only victim. Police said the two incidents sound similar. They describe the attackers as a group of African-American teens wearing gym clothes and traveling in a large group. |

Investigators: Black confesses to killing his white girlfriend, and her White daughter SUMMERVILLE, S.C. -- Investigators in Berkeley County say the man wanted as a person of interest in the deaths of a mother and her 8-year-old daughter is in police custody and has confessed to the killings. According to Berkeley County officials, 22-year-old Jacob Philip was arrested in Virginia Beach, Va., on charges not related to the deaths of 26-year-old Ashley Nicole Kaney and her daughter Riley Burdick, but confessed to killing them while in police custody. The bodies of Kaney and Burdock were found inside a Berkeley County home after school officials asked deputies for a welfare check at the home The bodies were found in beds in separate bedrooms in the home, Salisbury said. It is unknown how long the bodies have been in the home. Salisbury said Tuesday afternoon Burdock was choked to death. Black arrested for murder of his white 'common-law' girlfriend AVON, Ind. - Detectives have made an arrest in connection to a homicide in Avon in June. Authorities in Hendricks County arrested Antonio Miles of Plainfield for the murder of Trinity Johnson. According to the probable cause affidavit, on June 8, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Sugarwood Lane in Avon around 4:15 p.m. to the report of a person shot. When Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived they found the gunshot victim, Trinity Johnson. Deputies say she showed no signs of life. A short time later, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A report from the coroner found the gunshot wound was the cause of death. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. Authorities say the only people home at the time of the incident was Johnson, Miles and their baby. - (Black-on-white) |

Black boyfriend stabs white common-law girlfriend to death in Wendy's restaurant - later commits suicide in jail A woman is dead after being stabbed at a Magee fast food restaurant. The suspect, also dead, in a case that police are now calling a murder-suicide. It happened at Wendy's on Highway 49 and 11th street. Police say 21 year old employee Jessica Cromwell was stabbed several times around 5:30 yesterday evening. The suspect was her boyfriend, 31 year old Robert Williams, Jr. Officers say they collected his bloody clothing for evidence and he was placed in a holding cell, wearing only his boxers and socks. They say he was later found hanging in his cell after tying his boxers and socks together to do it. - (Black-on-white) |

White locksmith victim of deadly shooting by black male in Tulsa A 21-year-old locksmith was shot and killed at an apartment complex near south 49th & Sheridan. According to police, the locksmith, identified as Sebastian Geiger, responded to a service call at the apartment complex. At some point, Geiger and the owner of the car he unlocked got into a disagreement over the cost of service, said police. The owner of the car walked into a nearby apartment and returned with two other men. Police said after getting in his truck, Geiger was confronted by one of the men. Geiger, who was carrying a gun, exchanged fire with the men but was hit by gunfire as he tried to drive off. Geiger was pronounced dead a short time later at a local hospital Tenants said the men who shot Geiger hung out at an apartment that many of them had been complaining about for months. Police describe the shooter as a black male. He and another man ran from the scene before police arrived. - (Black-on-white) |
Plantation Police Looking for Black Bus Attack Suspect that sexually harassed White woman attacked her White defender Plantation Police are looking for a man who verbally harassed a woman on a public bus and then attacked a man who was trying to defend her, officials said. Police said the man was harrassing 22-year-old Ashley Ahringer, a woman sitting next to him on the bus on Sept. 17th, according to Plantation Police. Ahringer became agitated and switched seats with someone sitting across from them, but the man continued to harass her, asking her for sexual favors, police said. Another passenger, 58-year-old Jimmie Singleton, stepped in to defend Ahringer, officials said. The suspect responded by yelling at Singleton and going to the bus driver to deny the harassment. "I asked the girl to go on a date with me," the man can be heard saying on surveillance video. "She said no and now she's being a b---." When he went back to his seat, he got into an argument with Singleton and lunged at him, according to officials. Singleton then sprayed the suspect with mace and the suspect hit him in the face, officials said. - (Black-on-white) |
Milwaukee black charged in connection with attack on White firefighter 46-year-old Rozono Henley of Milwaukee was charged on Wednesday, October 2nd in connection with an incident at the Engine 16 fire house on Fond du Lac Ave. Henley faces two criminal charges including burglary (armed) and battery to a law enforcement officer, use of a dangerous weapon. Henley entered the Engine 16 fire house early Saturday, September 28th. Capt. Dan Nikolaus indicated between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., he was awakened “by the noise of someone shaking window blinds on the window of his office.” He stated that he had left the window open, but that there had been a window screen intact on the window and the blinds were down when he went to sleep. He went back to sleep, and was awakened again about a half hour later, again by the noise of the blinds shaking, and he got up at that time intending to close the window. He then saw a subject, later identified as the defendant, standing facing the window, moving the blinds. When Nikolaus confronted the defendant, the defendant became combative, and “a struggle ensued between Nikolaus and the defendant.” The complaint indicates during the struggle, Henley “shouted words to the effect of ‘Take this,’ or ‘How’s this?’ and Capt. Nikolaus felt two sharp stabs to his upper back. Nikolaus then noticed that a broken knife was on the floor next to them.” - (Black-on-white) |

Police Make 3 More Arrests In Shooting Death Of White Chester Rite Aid Manager CHESTER, Pa., — A murder mystery solved. With three more arrests and additional answers, authorities now allege the shooting death of a Rite Aid store manager Jason McClay in Chester was an inside job. 23-year-old Tariq Mahmud. Mahmud, along with 23-year-old Christopher Parks and 19-year-old Ashaniere White were arrested in South Philadelphia on Wednesday. Moncks Corner black sentenced to 35 years for 2011 murder of White woman 'Samaritan' MONCKS CORNER, SC - A Moncks Corner man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison in connection with the murder of a woman who offered him assistance during a time of need. David Penn, 53, was found guilty of murder and grand larceny by a Berkeley County jury Tuesday. He received 35 years for murder and a concurrent five year sentence on grand larceny. According to a release, the victim, 55-year-old Kathy Chrastina, tried to help Penn by offering him assistance finding a home and food stamps, and lending him money. She also hired Penn to help remodel her home. Chrastina was found strangled to death with a computer cord in October 2011. Several items were stolen from her home, along with her van, officials say. Authorities say Chrastina was murdered after Penn began using drugs again and she attempted to cut her ties with him. The release states DNA was recovered from the van, which was abandoned, and Penn was captured on surveillance video at a Walgreen's where officers later found the contents of the victims purse in a dumpster. - (Black-on-white) |

The incident happened shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday on a bike path along the Hudson River near West 59th Street, in Riverside Park South. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Julius Graham, a 43-year-old homeless man who appeared to be emotionally disturbed, was taken into custody after the stabbing incident. After five hours, he allegedly admitted to the murders and said that they were sacrifices to the Egyptian God, Apophis. He said in the interview that he had been hearing voices. Two black brothers arrested for killing White man found in burning SUV ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC - Two brothers have been arrested and charged in the slaying of a man who was discovered shot to death in a burning SUV last week in Santee. Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced the arrests of Jason Glover, 23, and Leroy Glover, Jr., 25. Ravenell said Leroy Glover was renting a mobile home in Orangeburg from the victim, 61-year-old Richard Michael Carter of Orangeburg. The sheriff said Leroy Glover intentionally set fire to that mobile home on Monday around 6 p.m. Jason Glover has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Leroy Glover faces a third degree arson charge, in addition to murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. "Mr. Carter was a husband, son, brother, and a father," said Ravenell. "His life had a meaning to those that loved him. Mr. Carter was the victim of cowards and thugs who had no moral or ethical issue with taking someone's life." Carter was reported missing by his wife at 1:35 a.m. on September 24. Wendy Carter said her husband had not returned home after going out 'to collect rent money from some tenants.' Foley teacher recovering from violent mugging at area business by black male FOLEY, Alabama -- A longtime Foley Middle teacher was hospitalized Sunday after being robbed and beaten in front of a local pizza place. Patricia “Pat” Givens, an eighth-grade math teacher, was in front of Papa Murphy’s on Ala. 59 in Foley just after 6 p.m. when a man mugged her. “She was violently knocked to the ground,” said Foley police Lt. David White. “The subject grabbed her purse and ran off into the wooded area. He’s a black male about 6 foot, medium to husky build.” Reached at home late Monday night in Foley, Givens said she had just been released from the hospital after spending the day there recovering from a broken nose and other facial injuries, a concussion and two broken fingers. Sheriff: Suspect's Wife Filed Rape Charge Against Pastor Before Shooting The wife of a deacon accused of gunning down a pastor during a church service had filed a rape complaint against the preacher two days before he was fatally shot, a Louisiana sheriff said today. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso said investigators are trying to determine whether the deacon's wife had a consensual relationship with the pastor or if she had been the vicitim of an assault. "We are looking at the possibility of that as a motive," Mancuso said. He said authorities have seen text messages exchanged between Woodrow Karey's wife and Pastor Ronald J. Harris Sr., and hope obtaining more phone records will shed light on the relationship between the pair. Karey entered the Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center in Lake Charles, La., Friday evening during the service and initially shot Harris with a shotgun, police said. After striking Harris, Karey allegedly shot him again at close range before fleeing. |

Memphis Minister Charged With Spreading HIV Investigators charged a Mid-South minister for spreading HIV. Minister Rodney Carr faces a class C felony, which is a conviction punishable with significant prison time. Carr is scheduled for trial in December in criminal court from a July 2012 arrest on accusations that he had sex with a girlfriend but did not tell her he was HIV positive. She found out only after they broke up when she tested positive. According to an affidavit of complaint, Carr tested positive for HIV in 2005. He had knowledge of his status and the exposure law. His wife died three years ago. University of Memphis police arrested Carr in October 2011 for allegedly threatening another man with a gun during an argument over a woman. He got diversion, but he was charged with violating his probation after his arrest on the HIV charge. |

Oklahoma City man arrested in cruelty death of puppy An Oklahoma City man has been arrested in the death of his puppy. Officers said they responded to the 800 block of North Ellison Avenue Friday around 5:30 p.m. in connection with a disturbance call. According to police, Tyrone Darrell Webb, 34, slammed his puppy on the sidewalk. Investigators say Webb cursed at a neighbor who confronted him, and went back inside his house. The puppy died a few minutes later, and the neighbor put it in a box while waiting for officers to arrive, police said. According to investigators, Webb was wearing a toy mixed martial arts-style belt when officers approached him. When asked where he got the belt, Webb reportedly told police he won it by "defeating dogzilla." Webb was arrested on one complaint of cruelty to animals. |

LAPD: Homo Sex Assault Suspect Targets Aspiring Male Models and 15-year-old boy Police Monday sought additional victims of a 34-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting at least two males. On the morning of Sept. 24, John Everett Perry approached a 15-year-old boy in Los Feliz and asked him if he was interested in modeling, Los Angeles police said. “When the victim expressed an interest, Perry lured him into his vehicle, where he sexually assaulted him,” police said. Approximately 45 minutes later, Perry approached a second male victim inside a Starbucks located in the 2900 block of Los Feliz Boulevard. “n this incident, Perry represented himself as a fashion photographer and lured the victim to a nearby bathroom, where he sexually assaulted him,” authorities said |
White 7-months-pregnant mom killed, black teen charged after Greenwood crash GREENWOOD, SC - Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said they arrested Darius Andrews, a teen who is accused of driving drunk in a crash that killed a pregnant woman in Greenwood County on Friday night. Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox has identified the victim as Alisha Boyter, 21, of Greenwood. Boyter was pronounced dead at the scene and ruled her manner of death as homicide, according to Cox. Pastor Phil Thrailkill of the Main Street United Methodist Church said Boyter worked for the church's Mud Pies child care center. He said employees met Saturday afternoon to grieve and pray together over the loss of Boyter. Thrailkill said Boyter was pregnant with her first child at the time of the crash. The 70-Year-Old White Man Beaten by Black in Unprovoked in 7-Eleven Parking Lot Has Died The 70-year-old man attacked Saturday in a 7-Eleven parking lot has died, police say, and now authorities will press for murder charges against the man held in connection with the reportedly unprovoked and motiveless beating. “It is just one of those cases that makes us all shake our heads and try to understand why and how someone would do this to one of to one of the most vulnerable in our community.” James Gifford was attacked at 6:08 a.m. Saturday shortly after exiting the convenience store with a can of soup, soft drink, newspaper, and doughnuts. Romeo Williams, 18, was with four other males when he lunged out and struck Gifford in the 7-Eleven parking lot, knocking him unconscious. Williams then entered the store where he celebrated the attack and then returned to the parking lot and kicked Gifford multiple times. White elderly man attacked by black home intruder A 74-year-old Pensacola man says he was attacked by an intruder, who was trying to steal his wallet Wednesday night. Deputies arrested Barron Anderson. Anderson is facing several charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and grand theft of a firearm. George Steele always locks his doors and windows before going to sleep at night. Steele is still shaken up by this break-in, he says he did not know if he would make it out alive. Steele was asleep inside his home, when he was suddenly woken up by some noises coming from his back door. "By the time I raised myself off of the bed, he had come through my back bedroom door," he said. Steele keeps a loaded pistol under his pillow. He says he saw Barron Anderson reached under and grabbed the pistol, threatening to use it if Steele did not give him his wallet. Steele was scared, but his instinct kicked in and he started fighting back. "Well I was trying to wrestle with him to get the damn gun out of his hand but I wasn't strong enough," he said. When Steele wouldn't give him his wallet, Anderson hit him in the face with the gun. Anderson eventually took off. When Anderson left, Steele called deputies and was able to give them a denoscription. Steele suspects this isn't the first time Anderson has broken in. About three years ago, Anderson did yard work for him. As Steele was getting ready to pay him, he realized his wallet was gone. - (Black-on-white) |
Black West African immigrant murders White neighbor - stabbed in stomach South Salt Lake police have arrested a 20-year-old man in the apparent unprovoked stabbing death of a neighbor. South Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Snyder said Ansumana Jadama, described as a West African immigrant, was being held Thursday without bail at the Salt Lake County jail. He was booked late Wednesday night on suspicion of first-degree felony murder and first-degree felony aggravated burglary. Police, responding to a 911 call from the victim’s male roommate, found 48-year-old Rickey 'Rick' Magnuson bleeding and with a broken-off knife blade sticking from his abdomen about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday inside an apartment at 3400 S. 415 East. Warrant issued for black man accused in violent "random" attack on White man at Robinson bar ROBINSON, Pa. — Robinson Township police have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of attacking a man at a restaurant. According to police, Matt Hogue was "randomly" attacked on the patio of Cadillac Ranch in Settlers Ridge on Sept. 7 by 33-year-old Desmond Ham. Hogue said that he later found out Ham’s ex-girlfriend was allegedly at the bar, but he doesn’t know Ham at all. “That’s the thing that is most troubling to me. Somebody could be so vicious to just come up to me and hit me for no reason. The guy didn’t know me and I don’t know him,” Hogue said. Hogue, who suffered broken bones in his cheek, continues to recovery from surgery after the alleged attack. - (Black-on-white) |
2 black teens charged in death of 54-year-old White man TACOMA, Wash. — Two teenagers now face charges of robbery and murder in connection with the Aug. 31 death of 54-year-old Lawrence Howse outside his Tacoma condominium. Andrew Boyd, 18, and Jeremy Bennett, 17, pleaded not guilty during their arraignment in the Pierce County Superior Courtroom on Friday. Boyd's bail was set at $3 million and Bennett's at $2 million. The two are accused of following Howse as he pulled into a secure parking lot at Sky Terrace condominiums, in Tacoma's Stadium district, where he was robbed and shot to death. Affidavit: Men charged in Marley Lion murder connected to earlier robbery CHARLESTON, SC - Court records state three men charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Marley Lion used the same gun to rob a woman and man in downtown earlier that night. According to affidavits, on June 16, George Ellis Brown acted as the getaway driver for Julius Brown and Bryan Rivers who robbed two people on Rutledge Avenue in downtown using a gun. The gun was provided by George Brown, and was later used to kill Lion an hour later. George Brown has since been charged with accessory before the fact to armed robbery and accessory before the fact to attempted armed robbery. $5,000 reward for missing Minnesota student, police find shooting suspect's car - Black ex-boyfriend arrested BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Police have located a suspect's vehicle and arrested another suspect in connection with the deadly shooting at Nina's Grill that occurred Sunday morning in Burnsville. Anarae Schunk, the 20-year-old University of Minnesota student reported missing on Monday, was last seen with Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, 31, who was arrested in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Palagor Obang Jobi. Burnsville police confirmed Wednesday that a 1983 Buick LeSebre registered to Chavez-Nelson has been accounted for. Police believe Chavez-Nelson used the car as he fled the scene of the murder, but police found him driving another vehicle upon his arrest Police also arrested 24-year-old Rosemount woman Ashley Conrade. Young White tug boat captain murdered in Slidell - black suspect Slidell Police were called to Javery Road Saturday, after a body was found in a ditch. Investigators identified the victim as 23-year-old Leighton Powe Jr. Police say around the same time his body was discovered, Powe's girlfriend called police to report him missing. As the investigation continued, police determined that Powe had been shot in the city limits of Slidell and then later dumped along Javery Road. Investigators named 20-year-old Felix Adams Jr. as a suspect in the case. A tipster called to give them a denoscription of the car Adams was driving. White woman murdered by black at 8th grade football game - "domestic violence" GILMER, TX - The victim in a shooting death during an East Texas football game has been identified, and the suspect will be charged with murder. Gilmer Police tell us 29-year-old Cheyenne Green, of Gilmer, was killed Thursday night at the 8th grade football game between Gilmer and Gladewater. The Upshur County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that 32-year-old Jonathan Ray Shepherd will be charged with murder in her death. Shepherd, who turned himself in on Thursday. The sheriff's office says he is the only suspect in this incident. Police say at 9:15 p.m. several witnesses reported a white female lying on the ground near a vehicle in the Gilmer High School parking lot. Black Sentenced to Death for Hammer-beating Death of White Woman Mobile, AL - A man convicted of killing a well-known real estate was sentenced Wednesday in Mobile courtroom. Carlos Kennedy was convicted of killing Zoa White in her midtown home two years ago. White was found dead in her home. Authorities say she was beat with a hammer and died. A jury recommended the death penalty for Kennedy. Wednesday afternoon a judge sentenced Kennedy to death by lethal injection. Black charged with attempted murder after woman pushed in train's path in White Plains (videos) WHITE PLAINS — A homeless man with a lengthy rap sheet was charged Wednesday with attempted murder after being accused of pushing a woman in front of a train at the White Plains station, railroad officials said. The woman, who is in her 20s, was struck by an empty northbound train and suffered “serious” leg trauma, officials said. She was interviewed by Metropolitan Transportation Authority police at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where she was scheduled to undergo surgery. The MTA identified the suspect as Howard J. Aaron Alexis, 34, is dead gunman in Navy Yard shooting, authorities say The dead gunman in Monday’s shooting at the Washington Navy Yard is Aaron Alexis, 34, a native of New York City who was discharged from the Navy in 2011 after he was arrested in a shooting incident, an FBI official said Monday afternoon.
