Richard Acquaye Police say a 33-year-old Worcester man met a local girl on the MySpace.com Web site a year ago when she was just 14 and twice had sex with her after buying her gifts and taking her to the movies. Richard Acquaye, a married father with four children, wept as he pleaded innocent Friday in Attleboro District Court to charges of statutory rape, rape of a child by force, indecent assault and battery and enticing a person for the purposes of sexual intercourse. The judge ordered Acquaye, a native of Ghana in West Africa and a U.S. citizen, held in jail on $50,000 cash bail after hearing bail arguments. Drunken illegal Mexican slaughters White American family
Carlos Prieto Ceran Family There are still a lot of questions about the suspected drunk driver who killed a woman and two of her children while driving under the influence on Christmas Eve. Carlos Prieto is in the Salt Lake County Jail. Prieto was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion on vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and driving without a license. Police arrested Prieto on Christmas Eve morning, when he ran a red light and broadsided a car carrying the Ceran family. Cheryl Ceran, her son, Ian, and daughter, Julianna, died. Gary Ceran and two other children survived. When police arrived at the scene, Prieto smelled strongly of alcohol and had glassy, bloodshot eyes. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement believes he is a Mexican national and here illegally. ICE has issued a hold on him, so he can be turned over to them once the criminal against him is resolved. - (Newsroom) - (crime) - (Invasion!)

Authorities say they've confiscated records that seem to point to an elaborate operation. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also has initiated an investigation into Yang's apartment. - (Newsroom) - (Invasion!)

  • Agents remove 2,300 illegal aliens in two weeks
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents removed more than 2,300 illegal aliens from the country in the past two weeks on 35 flights to the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and Africa -- one of the busiest periods of the year for ICE's Office of Detention and Removal Operations. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Julie L. Myers, who heads ICE, said 852 of those removed had criminal records, and that another 21 flights this week will take 2,087 aliens to Central America and the Caribbean, including 515 who are criminal aliens. "By the end of this week, ICE's Air Transportation Unit will have facilitated the removal of more than 4,500 illegal aliens in 14 days, including 1,414 with criminal records," Mrs. Myers said. "Apprehending, detaining and removing criminal and other illegal aliens promotes public safety and protects the integrity of the immigration system."

  • (Illegal) Immigrants Forced From San Diego Canyons
SAN DIEGO -- For 20 years, many of the illegal immigrants drawn by jobs in tomato fields have worshipped at an outdoor church, a concrete altar in a canyon where they slept under the shelter of plywood and plastic tarps and bathed in a stream. Today, however, McGonigle Canyon is overshadowed by multimillion-dollar homes, and police and landowners want the eyesores gone. The squatters and their tree-covered place of worship, which the Roman Catholic church installed in the 1980s, are being expelled in one of the latest skirmishes in the nation's battle over illegal immigration and homeless squatters' camps.

Lunatic Killer Migrants Face Mental Health Stigma
Omeed PopalSAN FRANCISCO -- Omeed Popal's parents knew their son wasn't well. He heard voices, believed people were trying to kill him and falsely confessed to his boss that he'd stabbed someone. His family, refugees who fled Afghanistan in the 1980s, kept close watch over Popal for years. They got him emergency help when he seemed to need it and even arranged a wedding, hoping marriage would prompt the 29-year-old to settle down. But in August, Popal swept through the streets of San Francisco in his sport utility vehicle, smashing into 18 people after killing a pedestrian in Fremont. He now faces a variety of charges, including attempted murder and evading police. - (Invasion!) - (Norcal)

  • One Mayor's Controversial Plan To Deal With Illegal Immigration
Mayor Lou BarlettaOne of the biggest issues facing the new Congress is what to do about immigration policy and what to do about the estimated 10 million illegal immigrants now living in the U.S. Not that long ago it was a problem in a half dozen border states, today it impacts virtually the entire country. Frustrated with the lack of action in Washington, local communities are taking matters into their own hands, by passing laws and ordinances specifically designed to drive illegal immigrants out of their towns. And they are doing by denying them places to live and work. It has raised all sorts of issues and touched off a legal fight that is likely to end up before the U.S. Supreme court
"I've been called the Grand Wizard of the KKK. I took an oath of office to protect and defend the people of my community. And they can call me all the names they want. But this is worth fighting for." - Mayor Lou Barletta

Etheopean migrant Melkamu Garuma guilty of murder, rape
Melkamu GarumaPA - A judge on Friday found Melkamu Garuma, 26, guilty of the first-degree murder and rape of his girlfriend, Estegnet A. Beyene. First-degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. The Judge took about 40 minutes to determine that Garuma plotted the rape and grisly murder, in which he used a knife to nearly decapitate Beyene the night of Sept. 22, 2005. Garuma pleaded guilty last week to criminal homicide. Madenspacher’s task was to decide the degree of guilt and whether Garuma raped Beyene. First Assistant District Attorney Heidi Eakin portrayed Garuma as an obsessed, cold-blooded killer motivated by a suspicion that Beyene was having an affair with another man. “This was deliberate and premeditated, with specific intent to kill,” Eakin said. Garuma and Beyene came to the United States separately after winning a visa lottery in Ethiopia. - (Newsroom) - (Invasion!)

Said Biyad 'I just killed my family' Somali refugee held in his 4 kids' deaths. One by one, workers carried out the small, draped bodies of four Somali refugee children who police say were murdered by their father yesterday morning in their apartment. Police discovered the bodies of the four siblings, ranging in age from 2 to 8 years old, after Biyad walked into Louisville Metro Police headquarters downtown around 9 a.m. and calmly told detectives: "I just killed my family," said Lt. Col. Phillip Turner, an assistant police chief. Officers also found the children's wounded mother, Fatuma Amir, who was taken to University Hospital. She was listed in serious condition yesterday. • Official: Government won't enter scofflaw seditious church to deport illegal Mexican alien
CHICAGO (AP) — Immigration enforcement officers do not plan to enter a church where a single mother sought sanctuary rather than submit to deportation to Mexico, a government official said Friday. But Elvira Arellano, 31, and her supporters say only a stay of deportation will ensure that she and her 7-year-old son, an American citizen, are not forcibly removed from the Adalberto United Methodist Church. "The situation doesn't change," Arellano said in Spanish. Arellano has been living in the church since Tuesday, when she was supposed to surrender to authorities for deportation. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials had said they would apprehend Arellano at a time and place "of their choosing" and that nothing prevented them from going into the church.

Illegal Immigrant Accused Of Road Rage Could Face Deportation
Joel OrtizRALEIGH, N.C. -- Some say an overwhelming caseload was a factor in why an illegal immigrant charged in what investigators have called a violent case of road rage was not deported after a prior conviction for a McDonald's shooting. Joel Ortiz was arrested in April in connection with the shooting at the Raleigh restaurant and was under investigation by local U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. But when there was not enough evidence to support a felony conviction, according to prosecutors, a plea bargain was reached with Ortiz and the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.Although a misdemeanor-assault charge is a deportable offense, according to immigration attorney Lynn Calder, immigration officials said that because the charge was reduced, the case became a low priority."If they got something more serious going on at the time, I don't think they'll get to them," Calder said. That procedure, referred to as a detainer, is now under way for Ortiz after he was arrested last Thursday in a series of incidents in which he allegedly chased down motorists, rammed their vehicles and shot at them. He is currently in jail under $407,000 bond. - (Invasion!)

Serial killer Angel Resendiz believed he was half man, half angel

She was killed during a deadly spree in 1998 and 1999, which earned Resendiz a spot on the FBI's Most Wanted list as authorities searched for a murderer who slipped across the U.S. border and roamed the country by freight train. Benton, 39, was stabbed with a kitchen knife, struck 19 times with a 2-foot-tall bronze statue and raped in her home eight days before Christmas in 1998 in the Houston enclave of West University Place, just down the street from a railroad track.
