Shearon BennettPictured from left to right: Darrell Bennett, April Cartin and Shearon Lamar Bennett.April Infinger BERKELEY COUNTY, SC - The shooting that led to the death of April Infinger began as a fight between a boyfriend and his girlfriend, authorities say. According to a spokesperson with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old Shearon Bennett was fighting with his girlfriend, April Cartin, when he was asked to leave the Moonshine Saloon on Meyers Road. Affidavits show that, as Bennett was in the parking lot of the nightclub, he fired into the building. That gunshot hit and killed 32-year-old April Infinger. Infinger was at the nightclub celebrating a friend's birthday and was getting ready to leave right before Bennett fired a gun. An incident report shows that Berkeley County Deputies attempted to chase Bennett as he was leaving the scene. After a warrant was announced for his arrest, Bennett was arrested and charged with murder Monday night. This is not Bennett's first time behind bars. According to a background check provided by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Bennett first started having trouble back in 1998, when he was charged with assault and battery. His rap sheet shows that Bennett has had a violent history, facing charges of domestic violence, resisting arrest and possessing a sawed off shotgun. Bennett was a felon, which makes it illegal for him to own a gun. Cartin and Darrell Bennett were also arrested in this incident. Infinger's funeral is set for Thursday.

Shooting victim's family hope for justice against Adrian Anthony, other robbers Mother: 'I want those two to rot in hell"
Adrian AnthonyRobbie GibsonGale BoggsRon GibsonINDIANAPOLIS - A 35-year-old father was gunned down during a robbery while trying to earn money for Christmas -- and it happened the day before Thanksgiving. Now, we're hearing his family's reaction to the cold-blooded killing.
Adrian Anthony was charged with Robbie Gibson’s death. Police charged Anthony this week with the Indianapolis man’s murder during a robbery the day before Thanksgiving. “He pulled a gun out of his hoodie like this. He's like, ‘I don't want anything. This is a robbery,’" Robbie Gibson’s brother Ron Gibson said. Police said Robbie and Ron Gibson were working on a home to make money for Christmas when Anthony -- armed with a gun -- along with 17-year-old Christopher Bell walked up to the men and demanded money. It was a crime interrupted by a passing truck. “I (saw) him put the gun in his hoodie. When the other one ran, I ran with him. I get to the middle of the street, then (a) gunshot goes off and my brother says, ‘Ronnie, he shot me.’ (Anthony) ran off and I ran into my house and locked the door so he wouldn't go in the house and get the kids,” Ron said. Anthony was already wanted by police for a brutal home robbery of a family in October. Ron Gibson said it was Anthony he saw walking the neighborhood with another man each day for two weeks leading up to his brother’s murder. Family members of the victim have no kind words for the self-described well-mannered criminal. “I want (those) two to rot in hell,” Robbie Gibson’s mother, Gale Boggs, said. “I don't want them to have the electric chair. I want them to suffer the same way we're suffering right now. That's what I want. I want them to suffer the same way my family's suffering." Robbie Gibson’s life ended over a nearly empty wallet and his brother’s cellphone. He died in his mother’s arms. - (Black-on-white)

Black Teens accused of murdering White contractor, father to be tried as adults
16-year-old Corey Sandifer and 15-year-old Derek CunninghamBeverly ShelleyJ.P. ShelleyA judge ruled the two teenagers accused of killing a contractor and father to be tried as adults. A murder victim's wife faced the suspect killers in a courtroom Wednesday. "Extremely difficult to see the defendants for the first time in person," said Beverly Shelley. "I think what I came away with is the just complete failure of the juvenile justice system after hearing page after page after page of all the offenses." The judge ruled 16-year-old Corey Sandifer and 15-year-old Derek Cunningham, both claiming to be gang members, to be tried as adults. Sandifer, Cunnigham and another teenager were involved in the robbery of J.P. Shelley and a business associate Octavio Sanchez. Cunningham, identified as the shooter, had an astounding history with the juvenile court system with 16 contacts. "As the judge said, he had been through every program possible so there is not chance for rehabilitation," said prosecutor Ray Lepone. Sanchez testified he met Shelley at a house in Parkway Village in October that Shelley wanted to renovate. Sanchez said he and Shelley handed over their wallets, phone, and iPad when the two teens with guns drawn asked for them. "My husband gave you everything he had ... What more did you want?" said Beverly. "You also broke up my family. You've broken out lives my children's lives." - (Black-on-white)

Mandela's passing and the looming threat of a race war against South Africa's whites.
As a widow mourns the latest murdered Afrikaner farmer, a chilling dispatch from a nation holding its breath.

  • Roelof du Plessis, 46 shot on his farm outside Pretoria by gang of black intruders
  • Fears rise that killings are part of a systematic bid to drive white people out of South Africa
  • President Jacob Zuma known to sing 'struggle song' about killing white Afrikaners
Roelof du PlessisMandela gives communist fist saluteThe horror started just before midnight on Wednesday this week. After listening to the latest television news about the health of Nelson Mandela, a South African family living not far from the former President’s hospital unit turned in for the night. But Roelof and Laura du Plessis, a married couple with four children who live on a heavily fortified farm outside Pretoria, did not have a peaceful night’s rest. In fact they were about to become the latest victims of what white pressure groups in this troubled nation say is nothing less than a savage war against them. Hearing noises outside their home, Mr du Plessis, 46, got out of bed and ran outside. To his horror, he found his 19-year-old son being held with a gun to his head by a gang of five armed black attackers. Father and son were ordered to lie on the ground. The invaders did not ask for money or the keys to the expensive vehicles in the drive. They were there only to terrorise and kill. Hearing voices outside, Laura, 44, came out of her bedroom to investigate — and her torch illuminated an awful scene as the gang pointed guns at her husband. Her son managed to get up and sprint off into the darkness when the men were confused by the flashlight. But Du Plessis was not so lucky. The intruders opened fire at once, shooting him six times through the throat, lungs and abdomen. As he writhed on the ground in agony, the men ran off into the night leaving empty bullet cartridges littering the yard. In the darkness, Laura attempted heart massage on her husband, who could still talk despite his appalling injuries, but to no avail. - (Black-on-white)

Other shoppers and police eventually helped catch Jeremy Bradley.   Jeanne Ouelette was trying on bras in the dressing room at a Kohl's store. Jah Laquan SetzerCharles WelchGASTONIA, N.C. -- Convenience store clerk Charles Welch never thought he had nerves of steel, but six years in the Marines must have taught him something -- Saturday night he kept cool and ducked for cover as bullets whizzed by his head at the store where he worked. One of his regular customers at GAStonia Express on S. York Road stopped in for a beer, said Welch, then asked him for some Cigarellos. Welch turned briefly to get them, but then turned back to see something unexpected. “When I turned back around,” said Welch, “the individual had a gun pointed in my direction with the hammer back.” “I said, 'Man what's going on?' and he said, 'Charlie you know what's up',” said Welch.
