Horror injuries of (White) woman who climbed onto an electrical substation to flee attack by (black) sex fiend
Courvoisiea AllenRachel AdamsRachel AdamsAn Arkansas woman who was forced to jump into an electrical substation to flee an alleged sexual assault is still recovering from second degree burns four months after the attack. Rachel Adams, from Little Rock, underwent three skin graft surgeries and a medically induced coma after fleeing a man who she said tried to orally rape her. She told ArkansasMatters.com her attacker Courvoisiea Allen had given her rides home before. But this time, she said he tried to force her to perform oral sex by threatening her with a knife. She knew she needed to escape by whatever means necessary. When Allen tried to force himself on her on October 3, she ran to a nearby Entergy electrical substation and climbed the electrical tower. Adams was severely shocked when Allen grabbed her shoe and she tried to break her fall by grabbing whatever was in front of her. She suffered burns on 40 percent of her body and spent a month at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Adams told the station: 'The physical injuries are minute in my opinion to the mental and emotional damage that's been done.' - (Black-on-white)

(Black) New Orleans man pleads guilty to misdemeanor for punch that left (White) tourist paralyzed - NO JUSTICE - NO PEACE
Christopher S. SmithChristopher S. SmithDoug DavidDoug DavidA New Orleans man pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor charge of simple battery for a punch on Frenchmen Street in October 2015 that left a California man paralyzed. Christopher Smith, 31, who was charged with second-degree battery over the late-night fisticuffs in Faubourg Marigny, claimed the victim, Doug David, 65, had thrown a can at his car at Frenchmen and Decatur streets, and that Smith was acting in self-defense when he threw the crippling punch. But Smith stood Wednesday before Criminal District Court Judge Tracey Flemings-Davillier to enter a guilty plea and offer an apology on the day of his scheduled trial. Assistant District Attorney Bonycle Thornton told the judge that David "is not in agreement with the plea that is offered in this case," but that he faced health risks in traveling and declined to come to New Orleans to testify. David accepts a "sliver of justice" from Smith's guilty plea, Thornton said. Flemings-Davillier sentenced Smith to a six-month suspended sentence and 100 hours of community service. She urged Smith, in the future, to "walk away." A spinal injury has left David, who lives in La Jolla, a section of San Diego, “permanently paralyzed from chest to feet.”

(Black) Long Prairie man receives more than a dozen years for manslaughter (of his white ex-wife) - "in the heat of passion"
Craig Lamont WilliamsNancy Elaine WilliamsLONG PRAIRIE, Minn. — A Long Prairie man who was convicted of first degree manslaughter for fatally striking his ex-wife with a shoe hammer was sentenced to 12½ years in prison. Craig Lamont Williams, 49, will serve the time at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility. During a hearing Wednesday, Feb. 1, Judge Douglas Anderson handed out the sentence, which is below the maximum penalty of 15 years, in Todd County District Court. Williams received credit for the three years and 164 days he's spent behind bars while his case was prosecuted. On Dec. 6, 2016, a Todd County jury found Williams guilty of committing manslaughter — intentionally causing the death of Nancy Elaine Williams in the heat of passion. The jury found him not guilty of second-degree murder. The incident began on Aug. 22, 2013 when Williams called 911 requesting an ambulance for a "gunshot wound" at a home about six miles south of Long Prairie. During the call, Williams said he had shot Nancy Williams at their home. When deputies arrived, they found Nancy, 58, dead. An autopsy showed that she died from multiple blows from a shoe hammer, not from gunshots. During a five-day trial in Todd County District Court, Williams claimed he was acting in self defense and that his ex-wife attacked him with a cobbler's anvil, a knife and a fork during an argument about him having sex with Nancy's daughter. His attorney, Malcolm Whynott, described the events leading up to the shooting as a "brewing storm" between the couple. The prosecution maintained that this was a case of "brutal, intentional murder" by Williams to end a dysfunctional relationship. Prosecutor Noah Cashman argued that Williams did not have marks or injuries on him and there were no signs of struggle in the house. - (Black-on-white)

  • Do they have the death penalty in Georgia?
Capital punishment is legal in the U.S. state of Georgia. Georgia reintroduced the death penalty in 1973 after Furman v. Georgia ruled all states' death penalty statutes unconstitutional. The first execution to take place afterwards occurred in 1983.
  • History of the Death Penalty in Georgia
A (black) man being strapped into the electric chair at Sing Sing prison in the early 20th century.Georgia has employed capital punishment since colonial times, with executions recorded at least as early as 1735. Crimes punishable by capital punishment in Georgia have historically included murder, robbery, rape, horse stealing, and aiding a runaway slave. Up until the 1920s executions were generally carried out by hanging, although the condemned were sometimes executed by firing squad and at least two were burned at the stake. The first Georgia execution to utilize the electric chair was carried out in 1924. Electrocution quickly supplanted hanging as the state's primary execution method, although hanging was still used intermittently until 1931. Electrocution remained the primary method of execution until October 5th, 2001 when the Georgia Supreme Court declared the practice unconstitutional as cruel and unusual punishment, after which Georgia converted to using lethal injection. Before 1976, Georgia carried out 950 executions, the fourth-highest number of any state.

Priest tells anti-Trump protesters to commit suicide
Jump against Trump! The pastor of a largely immigrant Catholic church in Queens has a suggestion for his anti-Trump parishioners: Go take a flying leap off the nearest building. “Show your hate for Trump. Do it for social justice. #JumpAgainstTrump,” read a meme posted by the Rev. Philip Pizzo just hours after he celebrated Sunday Mass. The message included an illustration of a man plummeting from a skyscraper. The conservative priest, who oversees St. Benedict Joseph Labre Roman Catholic Church in Richmond Hill, previously posted a photo of President Obama with the words “He’s not my president’’ and another snapshot of Hillary Clinton titled “Ugly Face’’ in Italian along with “Happy Halloween.’’Pizzo, 67, told The Post on Monday that he just thought the “Jump Against Trump’’ meme was “funny.” “I do not promote suicide,’’ Pizzo insisted. “I’ve helped many people over the years, and it does not promote suicide. It was funny.” But some parishioners were outraged.

Police warn anyone helping cold case murder suspect will be arrested
McKartney YoungMisty Lynn GuilloryA Calcasieu Parish grand jury indicted a man on Thursday in a 14-year-old murder case. Today, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office issued a press release stating that anyone caught helping Young will be arrested and charged with aiding and abetting a fugitive. McKartney Young, 31, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the 2003 death of Misty Guillory. Police say Young is now a fugitive. If anyone has any information regarding Young, please contact the Lake Charles Police Department at 491-1311. Guillory was 15 when she died. Prosecutors say Young was driving a car with two other passengers when he passed Guillory, who was walking on Prien Lake Road. He picked her up, prosecutors allege, and tried to sexually assault her. She was able to get away, but as she was fleeing Young ran her over with his vehicle, prosecutors say. Back in 2003, Young was arrested and indicted. However, after prosecutors found conflicting statement among witnesses, the charges were dismissed. The case was re-opened last year after new evidence surfaced. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of defendant and a "no bond" bond has been set by Judge Thomas Quirk. Any person or persons discovered to be helping McKartney Young evade arrest shall themselves be arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive. - (Black-on-white)

Taylor acknowledged helping others rob 76-year-old Carrie Smith in her Wilson home in January 2012. But his attorneys disputed a forensic pathologist's conclusion that the heart attack caused her eventual death, pointing instead to her failing constitution. Authorities said Taylor and one of his co-defendants accosted the sleeping woman, grabbed her by the hair and made her open a safe from which they took $35,000 in cash and $18,000 in jewelry.
