Black Suspect Murders Beloved 81-Year-Old (White female) Grocery Store Owner Over Gunman's Chain
Maurice GreenMarie BuckA feud between the grandson of an 81-year-old South Philadelphia grocery store owner and another man over a piece of jewelry ended in the well-liked woman's murder, homicide detectives said Thursday. Suspected shooter Maurice Green, who believed the grandson stole a valuable chain from him, allegedly sprayed bullets into Marie's Grocery at S. Sixth and Titan streets just before 9 a.m. on Christmas Eve, police officials said at a press conference Thursday afternoon. The findings were released as authorities officially charged Green, 31, with gunning down 81-year-old Marie Buck. Buck was struck 11 times by gunfire, stamping out the woman's life in the mainstay she's owned for four decades. Homicide Capt. James Clark said the suspect, who has 17 prior brushes with the law for mostly drug crimes, didn't even fully step into the store that day. Dressed in all black, he opened the door, saw the grandmother and began shooting, Clark said. - (Black-on-white)

Cedric and James PoorevictimsTULSA, Oklahoma - After nearly five hours of deliberation, a jury found Cedric Poore guilty of first-degree murder a quadruple murder trial. Poore was found guilty of four counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed robbery. He was found not guilty of felony in possession of a firearm. The jury recommended Poore be sentenced to life without parole. Formal sentencing will be set for a later date. There were a lot of tears in the courtroom as the verdict was read Friday night; even the jury members looked very emotional as the guilty counts were read out loud. Poore himself rubbed his eyes briefly while waiting for the jury, but when the verdicts were read he showed no emotion. Family members of both Poore and the victims cried quietly from their seats - the bailiff even handed out tissues for them. The jury started deliberating right around 4:30 Friday afternoon after nearly a full day of closing arguments. The prosecution pointed to witnesses who said they saw Cedric Poore at the Fairmont Terrace apartment where four women were murdered. A jury convicted Cedric's brother James back in March after less than two hours of deliberation, but the case against Cedric was a little more complicated. The four-year anniversary of the murder of the four women is January 7th. - (Black-on-white)

A group of children was playing in the yard and Everett couldn't get out of the way. The truck hit him before crashing into the home.
Suarez, of Angier, is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Police said he was responsible for the control of the vehicle. Even though Suarez was not behind the wheel of the truck as it struck the boy, he was named as the responsible party. A legal expert said the court can find Suarez responsible of gross negligence.

  • Merkel: Islamist terror is 'greatest threat' to Germany
Islamist terrorism is the biggest challenge facing Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel has said in her New Year message. Referring to the deadly truck attack in Berlin by a Tunisian asylum seeker, she said it was "sickening" when acts of terror were carried out by people who had sought protection. She said 2016 had been a year of "severe tests". But she also said she was confident Germany could overcome them. "As we go about our lives and our work, we are saying to the terrorists: 'You are hate-filled murderers, but you do not determine how we live and want to live. We are free, considerate and open'," Mrs Merkel said.

  • California Democrats legalize child prostitution
Beginning on Jan. 1, prostitution by minors will be legal in California. Yes, you read that right. SB 1322 bars law enforcement from arresting sex workers who are under the age of 18 for soliciting or engaging in prostitution, or loitering with the intent to do so. So teenage girls (and boys) in California will soon be free to have sex in exchange for money without fear of arrest or prosecution. This terribly destructive legislation was written and passed by the progressive Democrats who control California's state government with a two-thirds "supermajority." To their credit, they are sincere in their belief that decriminalizing underage prostitution is good public policy that will help victims of sex trafficking. Unfortunately, the reality is that the legalization of underage prostitution suffers from the fatal defect endemic to progressive-left policymaking: it ignores experience, common sense and most of all human nature — especially its darker side.

The city has been under pressure, even from its own lawmakers, at the state and federal level to reverse the policy, but Kenney has refused.

Plans to execute (black) serial killer Ronald Gray offer relief to (White) victim's family
Ronald Adrin Gray Ronald Adrin Gray Kimberly Ann Bowman RugglesTammy Cofer WilsonRonald Gray will die. A little more than 30 years after the former soldier's first victims were found in Fayetteville, a federal judge earlier this month cleared the way for the Army to execute the convicted murderer and rapist who once terrorized his neighborhood near Bonnie Doone But even without a set date, the news of progress in the case - which lingered in the courts for eight years since President George W. Bush approved Gray's execution in 2008 - offers some relief to the families of Gray's victims. "This is life-changing news," said Honey Rosalie Schlehuber, the younger sister of Tammy Cofer Wilson, one of Gray's victims. "We've been waiting for years," Schlehuber said. She talked with The Fayetteville Observer from near the family home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Wilson, then 18 years old, was found nude, raped and murdered in a wooded area near the Fairlane Acres Mobile Home Park off Santa Fe Drive on Dec. 12, 1986. The crime was linked to Gray during the investigation of another murder and a series of rapes. Eventually, Gray was convicted in military and civilian courts of raping several women and killing four - Wilson, cab driver Kimberly Ann Ruggles, Army Pvt. Laura Lee Vickery-Clay and Campbell University student Linda Jean Coats. Gray, who lived in Fairlane Acres and served as an Army cook, was convicted and sentenced to death in a Fort Bragg court-martial in 1988. He also pleaded guilty to 22 felonies in civilian courts, including two of the murders and five rapes. For those crimes, a civilian judge sentenced him to eight life sentences. - (Black-on-white)

(Black) Richfield woman guilty in death of (White) public works employee
Marie Jessica HallTyler LenortMINNEAPOLIS - A Richfield woman has been found guilty of third degree murder and vehicular homicide in the death of a public works employee in January 2016. Marie Jessica Hall, 25, crashed her car into the back of a truck with two Bloomington Public Works employees inside, killing one of them. Tyler Lenort, 38, died. The other man suffered a traumatic brain injury, skull and spinal fractures. Hennepin County District Judge Paul Scoggin ruled that her mental illness issues did not prevent her from knowing her actions were "morally wrong" when she crashed her car. On January 28, 2016 Hall walked into her former place of employment earlier that morning, then walked behind the counter and grabbed two bottles of vodka, throwing money in the air on her way out. She was seen running red lights at a high rate of speed before the fatal crash. Officers interviewed Hall at the hospital where she was being treated for her injuries. They say she was distraught over events in her life, and admitted to driving fast and erratically while going to get some vodka. After taking the vodka from her former employer, Hall allegedly told detectives that she opened a bottle, drank the equivalent of four or five shots of vodka, then sped down American Boulevard at approximately 100 miles per hour. It was then that she ran into the public works truck. She indicated to police officers that she had intended to kill herself. - (Black-on-white)

  • Man, 21, charged in deadly shooting of teen during 'illegal gun transaction' now in custody
A 17-year-old McCalla boy was shot to death during an illegal gun transaction in Hueytown, and now police have filed formal charges against the accused shooter. Hueytown police Chief Chuck Hagler on Wednesday afternoon announced two capital murder charges against 21-year-old Deion Dewayne Jones, of Dolomite. He is charged in the Tuesday slaying of Colt Coggins. Jones already is wanted for felony assault in an unrelated crime. The charge is capital, Hagler said, because the killing happened in the course of a robbery, and because the shots were fired into a vehicle. It appears, he said, that Jones was planning to rob Coggins during the gun deal.
Hueytown officers responded to the shooting on Carver Avenue, but arrived to find everyone had scattered.
They set up a perimeter and began searching for two suspects, both black males, and also issued a lookout bulletin for the car that fled the scene with the victim inside.

Cops: (Colored) Gwinnett boy, 15, accused of murder said he ‘had’ to shoot (white) man
Caziah BrownCurtis 'CJ' OldhamFifteen-year-old Caziah Brown leaned against the defendant’s table in Gwinnett County Magistrate Court on Wednesday afternoon, arms tucked into a large grey sweatshirt as tired eyes peered out from behind dangling braids. The teen alternately yawned, listened intently and peeked at family seated nearby as a homicide detective laid out the details of the murder case against him: counterfeit money, marijuana, a man dying in a daycare parking lot. “He’d planned to rob the victim … and it went bad, and he had to ‘blow him (away),’” detective Patrick Watson said, relaying a conversation Brown allegedly had with a friend. “And he just blew him in the chest.” Police believe that, on Dec. 17, Brown met 21-year-old Curtis Oldham on a residential street off Lilburn’s Killian Hill Road. Oldham, and his accompanying girlfriend, apparently believed he would be selling marijuana to Brown.
What exactly happened remains unclear. But Oldham’s girlfriend told authorities that, at some point, 15-year--old Brown stuck his hand inside her car, dropped a counterfeit $100 bill and fired a single gunshot through the window. The girlfriend drove off, stopping at a nearby daycare to bang on the door and ask for help. Someone there called 911, and police arrived to find Oldham bleeding in the passenger seat of his girlfriend’s car. He later died at Eastside Medical Center. - (Black-on-white)

Monday we learned from family that 50-year-old Mike Brinkman's wife and son were also home when he was murdered. Family tell us Brinkman's legacy will be the kindness he showed so many. "Words cant' describe how I really, really feel because I guess I'm still in shock that he is gone," said his ex-wife Michelle Brinkman after a prayer vigil Monday night in his memory. After decades of raising their daughter the two remained good friends. "I'm just overwhelmed by how many lives Mike has touched." At WOWT 6 News we've seen his kindness first hand when he'd help someone in need after a number of our 6 On Your Side Investigations. He was a roofing expert for many stories we covered. When somebody was left with a bum deal from someone who worked on their roof Mike would sometimes help them out. He was the owner of Xcel Roofing for 30 years. "Mike always went out of his way. It wasn't just a roof for him. It was somebody he got to know on a personal level," said Jim Harding who bought the business from Mike this past spring. "I intend on giving honor to him and his legacy continuing on with that same program." - (Black-on-white)

(Black) Teens’ alleged armed robbery, carjacking lead police to (White) murder victim’s body
Curtis 'CJ' OldhamMichael WallaceDontae Land - brother of suspect Caziah BrownsuspectsuspectsuspectsuspectHours after a teen allegedly shot and killed a man outside a Gwinnett County daycare Saturday, police say he and three other teens carjacked and stole money and pizza from a delivery guy. Caziah Brown, 15, of Lilburn, was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Curtis Oldham, 21, of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County police Sgt. Jake Smith said Monday. Brown also faces aggravated assault, armed robbery and theft charges. Police said Oldham was found dead about 3:40 p.m. Saturday outside of Childtime day care facility in unincorporated Lilburn. Oldham was sitting on the passenger side of a black car at the day care, police said. A woman was sitting in the driver’s seat. "It is likely that the shooting occurred elsewhere and the day care parking lot was convenient as the driver sought help for the victim,” Smith said. Oldham was taken to the hospital where he later died. About seven hours later, Brown was allegedly involved in another incident in Lawrenceville with three other teens aged 15, 16 and 18. Police say the teens ordered a pizza to an abandoned home and stole the pizza, $50 and the delivery driver’s car. According to arrest warrants, one of the teens, 18-year-old Joshua Tarrant pointed a BB gun at the victim. The delivery driver was also allegedly threatened with a taser. “They were pointing the gun at me and the other guy had the Taser and was zapping it,” the delivery driver said. - (Black-on-white)

Attorney said Springfield man is innocent as four murder charges are dropped
Scott Goodwin-BeyProsecutors dismissed criminal charges Tuesday against a Springfield man accused of killing four people in a north-side motel room in 2014. A prosecutor said he anticipates charges will be refiled against Scott Goodwin-Bey, 49, but Goodwin-Bey's attorney said his client is innocent and he hopes authorities capture the real killer, or killers. "It was a flimsy case all along," said Chris Hatley, a public defender representing Goodwin-Bey. Goodwin-Bey was scheduled to stand trial for the killings in early January.

(Posted New Nation News ARCHIVE for 11 February 2015 - original news link expired)

Trevor Fantroy, Danielle Keyes, Lewis GreenChristopher FreemanSPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Scott Goodwin-Bey, 47, of Springfield was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and four counts of armed criminal action for the shooting deaths of four people last Nov. 15 at the Economy Inn, 2555 N. Glenstone Ave.  The victims were Trevor Fantroy, Danielle Keyes, Lewis Green, and Christopher Freeman. Police believe Goodwin-Bey killed those four people because he believed "the victims were informing the police about his drug use." Detectives have suspected since shortly after the murders that Goodwin-Bey was the shooter but needed confirmation. Goodwin-Bey, who uses the nickname Auk, was arrested on Nov. 30, 2014, and has been held in custody since then for a federal firearms violation. The Springfield Police Department received test results from the state crime lab last week that confirmed a gun possessed by Goodwin-Bey is the murder weapon. On Nov. 28, Greene County sheriff's deputies went to a convenience store in Fair Grove after getting a report that someone matching Goodwin-Bey's denoscription was throwing items from a white Lincoln Town Car into a trash can at the store and "was overheard making a comment about having killed his girlfriend."
