Three (black Muslim Somali) Minnesota men sentenced for conspiring to join ISIS
Zacharia Abdurahman, Hanad Musse and Hamza AhmedThree Minnesota men convicted of plotting to join ISIS received prison sentences Monday ranging from 10 years in jail to time served. U.S. District Judge Michael Davis gave the 10-year sentence to Zacharia Abdurahman, who pleaded guilty but did not cooperate with the government against the other members of what Davis called a "terrorist cell." Prosecutors had sought 15 years in jail for Abdurahman, who said he wasn't willing to testify against his former friends. Davis told Abdurahman he was giving him less partly because his parents have become active in the campaign against terrorist recruiting in Minnesota's large Somali (fifth column) community. Earlier Monday, Abdullahi Mohamed Yusuf, 20, was sentenced to the 21 months he's already served in jail plus 20 years of supervised release. Abdirizak Warsame, 21, didn't fare as well, but his sentence of 2½ years in prison was two years less than prosecutors sought.

Jared ParkerA second man has been arrested in connection with a shocking triple murder and fire at an Old Jefferson home last week. Jared Parker, 27, of Baton Rouge, was arrested Friday on a count of being an accessory to the crime. Col. John Fortunato, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman, said Parker lied to detectives in an attempt to support the alibi of Jatory Evans, his nephew and the man deputies have accused of committing the killings. "Parker provided false information in hopes of supporting Evans' alibi," Fortunato said. "He also assisted him in getting a vehicle." Deputies last week arrested Evans, 28, on three counts of first-degree murder. Yvonne Braswell's injured handsuspectA family feud over Donald Trump ended with a Brooklyn man chopping off his sister’s thumb and slashing his mom, brother and nephew, cops and relatives said Sunday. Maurice Braswell, 49, had just bellowed, “Corporate America won the election,” when he was socked by his brother Dwight, 48, during a boozy get-together at their mom’s Flatbush home Saturday night, sources said. Maurice grabbed a kitchen knife and began slashing everyone around him, said the men’s mother, Yvonne, 67. “Everyone here voted for Clinton, but my sons, both of them, are high-strung,’’ Yvonne Braswell said. “They don’t fight a lot, but when they do, it can get bad.’’ But Maurice — who has 17 prior arrests and has been in and out of prison for robbery and other offenses — became enraged when he felt their mom and other relatives weren’t respecting his opinion. Police said Maurice severed his 25-year-old sister Shapaviah’s thumb. The mom said her daughter was at Bellevue Hospital, where the thumb was reattached. The mother said her own thumb was nearly cut off and required 17 stitches. A nephew, Bwigat, 23, suffered cuts, as did Dwight.

Mykel Cantrel CooperSteven HorkovyA judge on Wednesday sentenced a Phoenix killer who attracted police attention after he didn't pay his restaurant bill to 25 years in prison. Mykel Cantrel Cooper pleaded guilty Oct. 5 to second-degree murder and burglary in the stabbing of his roommate. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Danielle Viola said Cooper's mental-health issues were taken into consideration in his sentencing, and she ordered that he be subject to a mental-health assessment before his release from prison. She also ordered him to serve five years of supervised probation. Viola said Cooper, 25, was back on his medication but was not taking it at the time of the stabbing. His attorney, Jason Gronski, said, "Mr. Cooper is currently medication-dependent. He's a good guy and taking responsibility for his actions." Viola said, "He was in a situation where the victim was in his bed and the defendant burst into his room to stab him to death." Detectives went to Cooper's apartment in the 2100 block of West Morten Avenue and discovered that his roommate, Steven Horkovy, 29, had been stabbed to death. - (Black-on-white)

Three children without a mother after history of domestic violence leads to murder in Wadena
Antonio St. MarieMargaret St. MarieEmilee, Antonio Jr. and MalikWADENA, Minn. --- A history of Domestic Violence has apparently lead to murder in Wadena, Minnesota and left 3 children without a mother. Twenty-seven-year old Margaret St. Marie is dead and her husband, Antonio St. Marie faces a probable cause charge of murder. Formal charges are pending. He remains hospitalized following a chase and crash. It happened here, in Antonio and Margaret St. Marie’s second floor apartment at 310 Bryant Avenue in Wadena. Margaret was shot dead and Antonio fled the scene in his vehicle. He was chased by police, until he crashed west of town and was captured.
But a search of court records shows there was trouble behind the closed doors of the St. Marie’s home. Just last week, Antonio was charged with Felony Domestic Assault. He allegedly accused Margaret of cheating on him and roughed her up. Antonio was already on probation for another Felony Domestic Assault and Terroristic Threats conviction in 2012 Sadly, he was under a court order stemming from last week’s charge to have no contact with his wife. However, police were not called until a gunshot was heard and his wife, Margaret was dead and the couple’s 3 young children were without a mother. Authorities have not released the condition of Antonio St. Marie. But the State Patrol reports the driver of the vehicle St. Marie hit during that crash and crash was 55-year old Jeffrey Reinhart of Park Rapids, Minnesota. The Patrol reported that Reinhart did not received life threatening injuries. - (Black-on-white)
