suspectsuspectsuspectDr. Bruce LeeIn a nightmare scenario, a well-known physician was brutally attacked inside his BMW after leaving a seaside restaurant. Now, after surviving the bloody beating, he offers an exclusive account of the night he was nearly killed. A slight- looking African-American woman with curly, almost bushy, hair stared intently back. At her side was a man. And then, very suddenly, Lee wasn’t alone anymore. Sitting in his passenger seat, cushioned in the same soft leather he was in, was a man. Like the pair, he was African American, mid-20s, dressed casually, about 5'10", medium build. Lee had injured his bike, the man screamed, and now Lee had to pay for the bike. $150. ... a hunk of metal slammed into Lee’s face, breaking his glasses. A direct hit, he thought. If he cried out, he doesn’t remember.... The blows rained down on him. One. Then another. Then a third. At least 10 in all — and all on his face. His eyes, forehead, glasses. Everywhere. “I don’t know why they targeted me,” he said. Asian males were actually frequent targets because of the perception that they carried wads of cash on them at all times, the tech said.

Woman brutally beaten during Chester home invasion; (interracial couple of) suspects in custody
Richard Johnson and Erinn Howarth(possible picture of victim, Beth McCarthy)CHESTER, Pa. -- A 49-year-old woman was brutally beaten during a violent home invasion in Chester, Pennsylvania. The Chester Police Department were looking for Richard Johnson and Erinn Howarth (possibly the housekeeper of) 75-year-old Dennis McCarthy. The pair were allegedly after a safe belonging to McCarthy, the victim's father, that housed cash and jewelry. They held McCarthy up at gunpoint, demanding the combination to the safe. When he told them he didn't know it, they "tied (his) hands and feet with cords ... ransacked the bedroom ... tried to beat open the safe." McCarthy's 49-year-old daughter, who came home during the incident, was "severely beaten, bleeding badly." It's unclear how the suspects entered the home, but hours before the invasion, Howarth and Johnson reportedly stopped by the McCarthy home to pick up a bikini the 25-year-old had left there. It's that bikini that was discovered in a backpack in one of the bedrooms after the home invasion that led police to Howarth and Johnson. The 49-year-old woman remains in critical, but stable condition. - (Black-on-white)

Trenton's "Liberian Community" mourning loss of black man shot dead by a black Off-Duty Trenton Police Officer at funeral party
Alfred ToeAn off-duty Trenton police officer's altercation with a man Saturday night ended with the man dead of a gunshot wound to the chest. Alfred Toe, 34, his brother Constantine Toe, 30, and the off-duty officer were attending a repast celebration following a funeral earlier in the day, according to witnesses. "He was with us drinking," said James Alpha, Toe's friend. "Nobody knew he was an officer." Alfred Toe got in a dispute with someone else at the party. Witnesses say the off-duty officer then confronted Constantine Toe and took the gun away from him. He then pulled out his own service weapon and held Constantine Toe on the ground. Witnesses say that Alfred Toe, who did not know the man was a police officer, then jumped in and tried to grab the officer's gun. That's when the off-duty officer opened fire, according to the witnesses. "Next thing, pow! Everybody dropped!" Alpha said. "What's that for? How can I tell this man in sneakers is a regular police officer when you don't have your badge on? How can I tell?" Alfred Toe was struck once in the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. "It's not only when a white cop shoots a black guy that everybody's eyes should be all over the place," said Michael Blidi, a friend of Toe's. "This is a black on black thing."
