(White) Boy escapes (black) would-be kidnapper in Liberty County, suspect on the run
Luke Gordonblack rapistLIBERTY COUNTY, Texas - People in Liberty County are concerned after a man tried to kidnap a 7-year-old boy near his home Tuesday. Investigators think the same man may have raped a woman and tried to kidnap another. The incidents happened in Dayton along County road 48-82 and FM 1413. Heather Gordon has three children and like most, the thought of losing one of them is indescribable. "At night I hold him tight because he could've been gone," she said. Investigators said 7-year-old Luke was walking down the road to a friend's house when a red truck pulled up. "The guy told Luke 'Well come on, I'll take you for a joy ride,'" Gordon said. Detectives said the man grabbed the boy's shoulder and tried to pull him into the truck and his mother saw it happen. "I fell to my knees. I was shaking so bad," Gordon said. "I was running down there crying, hollering his name, he wasn't answering." Thankfully, Luke broke free and ran immediately to a neighbor's home. The denoscription of the suspect and his red pick up is vague but investigators believe the man driving the car is also responsible for the rape of a 30-year-old woman somewhere along FM 1413, just west of Dayton. Investigators said a man driving a similar pick up has twice tried to lure a woman into his truck while she was jogging near her home in Liberty. "The similarities between the black male driving the red truck is so close and similar, it's possible these three are tied together," said Captain Ken DeFoor of the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. - (Black-on-white)

Last year, as Catherine Walker slept in the Aliamanu Military Reservation home she shared with her husband, Jackson stabbed her multiple times with a kitchen knife, Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Brady said. The killing was carried out with malice and was premeditated, he said. - (Black-on-white)

Tony Mack, who is serving a 58-month federal term at a West Virginia prison, made just one argument on appeal. All were rejected as meritless. Ralphiel Mack is currently assigned to a halfway house in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The problem with that, Scalia and Justice Thomas say, is that students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, as many minority students do, may be admitted into schools with academic expectations that they are not prepared for.

Investigators say the fight started in a hallway at Penns Grove High School in Salem County Friday shortly after classes ended. The fight quickly spiraled out of control and police were called to the school, according to officials. “They were told 18 to 19 times to disperse,” said Carneys Point Police Chief Gerald Krivda. When the responding officers attempted to lock the doors, the students allegedly started to attack them. Krivda says a County-wide police response was then called which included state police, the sheriff’s and prosecutor’s office as well as the Pennsville and Woodstown police departments.

Hamid Mohamed Ahmed Ali RehaifThe U.S. Attorney’s Office said Hamid Mohamed Ahmed Ali Rehaif, of the United Arab Emirates, has been in the country illegally for about a year after he was terminated as a student at the Florida Institute of Technology in the fall of 2014. According to federal authorities, Rehaif admitted to possessing several firearms, which he had used at local gun ranges, but told detectives that he had recently sold or disposed of the weapons. Agents said they found rounds of handgun and rifle ammunition in his hotel room and in a storage unit that he had rented, but they did not find any firearms.     (Black) Man Acquitted In Shooting Death Of Aspiring (White) Teacher
Marcellus Jones Beau ZabelTerry Zabel, left, and Lana ZamoraPHILADELPHIA — A jury has acquitted a 37-year-old South Philadelphia of all charges in the June 2008 murder of a Minnesota man who came to the city to become a teacher. Marcellus Jones yelled “thank you” to the jury while the victim’s family, in town for the trial, wept after the verdict was read. Defense attorney Richard Giuliani applauded the panel for sticking strictly to the evidence in a case in which the defendant is already a convicted killer. “When a defendant testifies and brings out that he has five prior robbery convictions and denies the involvement of the killing of someone else where he’s already been convicted, that was difficult. But apparently the jury focused on the evidence in this case, which I’m grateful for,” said Giuliani. With no DNA or other physical evidence, prosecutors relied heavily on witnesses’ testimony. Despite the verdict, Jones isn’t going anywhere. He’s serving a life sentence for murdering the man suspected of driving the getaway car the night Beau Zabel was shot to death and robbed near the Italian Market.

(Black) Fresno man sentenced to death for rape, murder of (White) teen girl in 1985
Eddie Ricky NealyJody Lynn WolfeJody Lynn WolfeEddie Ricky Nealy, whom a prosecutor called one of the most dangerous men in Fresno County’s history, was sentenced Friday to California’s death row for the 1985 rape and killing of Fresno teen Jody Lynn Wolf. Judge Arlan Harrell’s voice cracked and he nearly cried in Fresno County Superior Court when he announced Nealy’s death sentence. Nealy, 58, received the death penalty after a jury in September 2013 convicted him of rape and the first-degree murder of 14-year-old Jody, whose nude body was discovered floating face up in a southwest Fresno canal on Aug. 15, 1985. The runaway was wearing only knee-high socks. An autopsy revealed she died of blunt-force trauma to the back of her head and had been dead at least two days. In its decision, the jury said Nealy should be executed for killing Jody. “It was a cold, vicious murder in the commission of a rape,” Harrell said in announcing Nealy’s punishment. The judge said there was evidence presented at Nealy’s trial that showed he had killed Mary Charlotte Barnett in July 1988, but Nealy never was tried for it. Barnett’s nude body was found in a southwest Fresno field. She was hogtied and had a purse strap and brassiere tightly wrapped around her neck. The coroner said Barnett died as a result of ligature strangulation and had cuts, bruises and fractures on her face, as well as on other parts of her body. Nealy’s other convictions included three rapes, one robbery and child abuse. - (Black-on-white)
